  • He signed the National Security Act so the Nazi's could slowly take us over.

Even Harry admitted signing the Security Act was the biggest mistake he ever made.

  • "The scientists and military advisers never questioned its use" ?? Nothing could be further from the truth, as Gar Alperovitz's 848-study entitled "The Decision to Use the Atomic Bomb and the Architecture of an American Myth" (New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1995) describes in meticulous detail.

  • slow down its not a race.

  • We need to drop one more right on Osama and his boys who all want to cut the heads off our children and grand children.

  • I really liked your video and its newsreel clips. It's very informative and arranged in the proper sequence. However I must criticise 1 aspect: Your delivery. Your narration is fine, substance wise, but you appear to be speaking too fast to deliver a telling effect on such a serious issue. It makes it sound casual, which is a pity given the effort and substance.

Nonetheless it still is a commendable effort by you and your team, and I'll save this to my playlist.

  • The leaders of Japan brought this tragic event on their own people.

  • Good stuff

  • Quite well done. However, the pace of the piece is a bit rushed for such a serious topic. The narrator sounded like she was trying to keep up with the video montage. It sounded too much like someone was simply reading the script rather than "presenting" it. A slower pace, with slight pauses and changes of inflection might have given the viewer a deeper sense of connection between the video and the narration. That said, it's still well done!

  • The 2 atomic bomb on Japan is well deserve.

Japanese soldiers surrendered and went home. They did not kill themselves.

  • god damn lady you are making my head spin you talk so fucking fast

  • why is this bitch talking so fast????????

  • The 2 atomic bomb on Japan is well deserve.

Japan is a nation of beggars living under the bridge.

  • Excellent summation of the concept. Facts presents without prejudice or sermonizing. Impressive.

  • That was an awesome video...Thanks

  • So basically, what she is saying is that Truman was not man enough to make the right decision because he did not want to face the disapproval from the American public. Also, why was he informed that only 20,000 people were going to die? It's at least 400,000 with all the resulting cancer deaths. Why was the option of demonstrating the bomb on a remote place so bad? Besides, Japan was trying to have peace talks anyway. Biggest terrorist act in the history of mankind...

  • no im sorry that would have to be the germans, what did you forget about the MILLIONS of jews that were killed, or maybe the Japanese when the slaughter millions of Chinese citizens during there invasion in WW2. you need a history lesson, so shut up unless you know the facts!

  • No need to yell here, we are as you said discussing facts, not personal opinions. And of course I know about the Japanese slaughters and war crimes, and the Holocaust, you are not the only one. I am critical however of the way the US sinks down to that level. Just because you can't beat the Enemy in an honorable way does not mean you can take cheap shots. Besides, the reason the bomb was dropped was not because of Japanese war crimes, and you know that perfectly well.

  • I prefer to "sink" to the level of survival, as opposed to the level of slave of beasts, or worse, dead. Also, Truman wasn't the least afraid of using the bomb. He said "We have found the bomb, and we have used it. We will continue to use it until Japan's ability to wage war is destroyed. Thank God we found it, and not our enemies. He tried to avoid it, but Japan's refusal to surrender forced his hand, not fear of the voters. Get facts, not Leftist propaganda.

  • So this video is "Leftist propaganda" then? Why wasn't the bomb demonstrated in a non-populated area? Why were peaceful cities bombed instead of military establishments? Why were two bombs dropped instead of one? There were ways America could have ended the war far greater loss of innocent lives, but it decided to do otherwise. Isn't that in itself a crime of war?

  • "Why wasn't the bomb demonstrated in a non-populated area? "

Because we only had two. Besides, they didn't surrender after it was dropped on Hiroshima, and many didn't want to even after the second. There was even a coup staged to prevent surrender.

"Why were two bombs dropped instead of one?"

Like I said above, they didn't surrender after the first. And if Japan kept fighting, just what "ways" do you think there were there to end the war earlier? There were none.

  • @vladimir2277

had we not dropped this bomb we would have had women and children die from japan. They would all fight until the last man was dead, including women and children, over one million of them would have died. We would had to drop many smaller bombs in preparation for the invasion adding up to far more deaths than the two atomic bombs. This was a good decision.

  • @ytba The World is not about Left and Right, my friend. There are many opinions. For one, I disagree with the decision to invade Iraq, but I do understand the decision to drop at least the first A Bomb on Japan. There are varying points of view out there. I'd like everyone to respect that. This way, we can find agreement on at least some things. Regarding the bomb, I also think it's hard for anyone not alive back then to really make a proper judgement however. We're all just looking back.

  • @ytba he's a scumbag period k/

  • @ytba Well said. Hey, sushi boys, what part of "prompt and utter destruction" did you not understand?

  • 800,000 jewish were killed in the war. i dont get why they always exaggerate and say 4million

  • ugh annoying accents

  • Hiroshima, Nagazaki, the United States' first war crime on a global scale. Japan was having talks with president Truman to negotiate surrender, with the proviso that the emporer wouldn't be harmed. Truman refused, the US wanted to see what nukes would do to a city, so they experimented with thousands of people. This atrocity didn't shorten the war or save lives. America should pay heavily for this unprecedentedly indiscriminate war crime. Hiroshima, Nagazaki, we won't forget, we won't forgive.

  • The first war crime was when Eurotrash Americans killed Indian Americans.

  • Yes and the Rape of Nanking was a act of generosity by Japan, so was the take over of most of the South Pacific. Also the UNPROVOKED and undeclared attack on Pearl Harbor.

Japan was in talks. They would come to the table, then leave, then come back - they were stalling. All the while they were throwing there troops to the wolves to STALL for time. Sounds like a benevolent goup to me....

The war machine even tried to overthrow the Govt. to continue the war.... Yea, we're the bad guys.

  • Yea, you're the bad guys, having committed the biggest war crime in history. None of what you said changes that. This is why america refuse to sign up to the international criminal court, 'cos your leaders know they would be in prison.

  • lol i think im a pretty good person really. biggest war crime hu, yeah tell that to the jewish people and i hope they punch you in the mouth.

  • "tell that to the jewish people and i hope they punch you in the mouth." They're far too busy doing to the Palestinians what the Nazis did to them. You're not a 'good person' but a stupid fucking wanker who thinks violence somehow equates to truth. Asshole.

  • Well, what's done is done. Japan got what they deserved, considering what they did to us and the rest of the world. Why do you think they entered the war? To expand and take natural resources. We couldve expanded and taken all of their resources, but were much better than that. If what we did was a crime, then Japan should burn in hell for what they have done. Whether or not you forgive us doesn't really concern us. You piss us off, we will fight back. Simple as that.

  • Great Video! I hadn't considered this perspective before.
