why is there always the fight if airbus or boeing is better? both are great and both build great airplanes. due to ther competition both are forced to develop better and "greener" airplanes. so it is good, that airbus AND boeing do exist. peace out :)
@mancinisouza Airbus will dig Boeing in the ass painfully like on the army tender haha, revenge for Coke McDonalds and other US trash spread on the Planet
@monsterurod you can say that about any aircraft manufacturer. look at gulfstream, The G2,3,4,5 are all out growths of the G1 and G2. I'd say Boeing and gulfstream are two leaders of the their proverbial sects in the aviation industry so whats necessarily wrong with taking a proven design and modernizing it??? look at hawkers, Lear jets, and most citations, Cessna, piper, etc...might as well condemn the whole aviation industry at this point for copier older design..maybe except Dassault.
@Cathaydude You are right, there is no reason to test that now ... they should wait till their first landing and just hope that it works as it's designed to work. Silly test engineers testing things, collecting data and analyzing ... what are they thinking?
Damn i really wanna get myself a license, this pane is jsut great... its like my previous fav boeing, the 777 except updated, plus a HUD XD! I want to get in one and sit in the pilot seat... so badly....
@RobertsDigital I agree so much, Thumbs up if you want them to make a new model that is the frame of the 777 and the interiors of an 787 plus more.... XD the 777 was me most fav plane... i mean i still like the frame of the 787 cuz its no joke... but yeah, i do like the 777 but i want the turbines to have that zig zag accent in the back like the 787s..... pretty much going to be my dream plane right there.... thought i do want to own a learjet 45 or a citation X as a smaller jet for my travels:)
i don't think so coz the a380 alraedy won the market of big airplanes... the big question is : in the same cathegory ,do the dreamliner gonna be able to compete with the a350? coz we can obviuslly gess that airbus is improving his plane to be bette than the boeing one! and due to the delay of the dreamliner i really think that customers are also thinking in that way . trust me guys...

@HansensUniverse compared to Airbus, Boeing are still in the dark age...
believe me, I work in the biggest aircraft maintenance company, (Lufthansa Technic) and every day we have to fix the crappy Boeings. There isn't bigger shit than boeing...
the 767 i have to say is one of the best aircraft out there, and it has the best safety record, how many times these days do you hear about a 767 crashing? none! i just hope its the same with the 787.
@arrdly you are a shit Airbus is shit breaking down all the time, and Airbus is a ugly plane and got engines with no roar, i stick with the Boeing anyday any time
Without Airbus, Boeing wouldn't be making great planes today. Without Boeing, Airbus wouldn't be making great planes today. SHUT THE FUCK UP FANBOYS! Both are great!!! Competition is GOOD!!
Actually in the earlier planes such as the 707/727/737 and early 747s they used gray. A panel of scientists found that brown was a more calming/soothing color. That is why you see 757/767/777 and 747-400 and all newer aircraft having brown flight decks. They only exception is the 737 NG is still gray.
in Russia "scientists" found the more calming color was acqua... Now Boeing after decades of brown turned back to grey. I think is a matter of fashion...
that cockpit is amazing lookin probably the best though dont know whats with the brown now is it a 21st centuary boeing trade mark or just thats the only colour americans end up with lol
@liplol how, im sorry, i can now say boeing are copying airbus with the 747-800. just because they make an alternative or rival aircraft doesn't mean its copying. its like saying xbox copied sony because they made a rival console.
@05u16hep Boeing has made new aircraft within 25 yrs look at the 777 that was inteoduced in 1999 and plus every aircraft manufacturer is gonna get delayed cuz NO ONE is perfect so they delay to fix the problems
WIth a boeing, the pilot is still the one in control. With an Airbus, the computer is the one who is really flying the plane. Also, with the WTO ruling yesterday, Airbus is going to loss most of its loans from the EU, so now their are going to over-budget on the A380/350. In other words, Airbus is being taken to the cleaners by Boeing when is comes to devolping a plane. Lastly, comparing the 787 to the A380 is like comparing apples to oranges.

Also, you say boeing are the best at developing planes but you fail to mention this aircraft is currently over 7 tonnes overweight and 3 years delayed, and it is nothing but a plastic 757 with ROLLS ROYCE engines to make it anywhere near efficient
I havent seen anything new from boeing for 25 years.
@05u16hep 757 = narrowbody. 787 = wide body. Definitely the same. A380? They had to add a new category for it. And, as mentioned below, it can't land at many airports... Anyone heard of multiple Airbus fighter jets? Didn't think so.
@burreaucracy ok then, a plastic 767. They had to make a new catagory for the A-380 (Super) because it is new, no other manufacturer e.g. boeing has sucesfully created such a magnificent machine. The A-380 is severely under rated and far more technologicaly advanced than any other aircraft. The 787 is nice, but it cant carry 700 people half way around the world at mach 0.89 And the A-380 has a lower, more comfortable cabin altitude of 5000 ft compared to 6000ft on this and 8000ft on 747
@burreaucracy actually the A380 with landing has a much lower impact than a 747 and 777 even believe it or not. This is primarily due in part to the extra amount of wheels the A380 has. It distributes the energy more evenly. Still though i love both Airbus and Boeing and it is almost impossible for me to choose which one i love more. Both make amazing airplanes.
The A380 could roughly ~ carry 2 Dreamliner loads in 1 journey. Cutting back on 1 journeys worth of emissions. The Dreamliner would need to make 2 to carry the same load to same destination with double pollution. A380 makes sense. Also Boeing got double compeition. A380/A350 vs Dreamliner. Airbus wins. Im sure China/India would buy Airbus as opposed to Boeing. Oh and I forgot new A400M millitary airlifter. Airbus wins at all levels.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I think Boeing is doing the wrong thing launching the 787. What do they think???!!! That producing a smaller airliner will de-clutter the crowded skies??? I don't believe the 787 will become a success in the long run. We will have alot of problems with crowded skies and airports when airlines buy gazilions of the so called "Dream" liner.
@biggestMetallicAfan the A380 is slightly(3 meters) longer than the 747.. Only for the wingspan it's different( 14meters longer)... and what makes it kind of big is the two decks... that's all, after it's comparable to a 747...
A380: 79.8 m (261 ft 10 in) B747: 64.4 m (211 ft 5 in)
A380: Length 73.0 m (239 ft 6 in) B747: 70.7 m (231 ft 10 in)
A380: Height 24.1 m (79 ft) B747: 19.4 m (63 ft 8 in)
AircraftCompare DOTcom provides exact details of around every aircraft in the world from the past present to the FUTURE FLYING CARS, with photos specs price and everything else. Don't worry, that monitor and the computer that feeds it is separated from the rest of the systems. It's mostly for helping with calculations, logging and such. A similar system is used on tha A380.
Sorry to bother you again AirCargoHeavy, but had a look at this captainkhale whatever's profile below and for a 19 year old he sure has crammed in a lot for a teenager :)))) Don't you love it?!
@boeingfan882 I love boeing. But there is a reason why there are 2 different kind of companies. people like organized and titty, so they go with airbus, the beautiful aircrafts. And people like boeing for how powerful it is! and they just want to get there quicker.

and by the way its A380 vs Boeing 747-8i and A350 vs Boeing 787

@rob772788
...and the A380 has a looooooooooot of proving itself to do ( 747's been flying for over 30 years )

why was the reverse thrust on during a low speed taxi? I thought it was hazardous to the engine to do that under 60kts...

@A380sebster
We will also have a lot of problems with the A380 not being able to land in every airport. And its expensive as a bitch
halo2windows 1 year ago 9
lol, very true, but Airbus is the way to go!
A380sebster 1 year ago
@halo2windows Well it a huge god damn plane.
I see absolutely no reason to have a plane that big, something like the 747 is perfect.
biggestMetallicAfan 1 year ago
@biggestMetallicAfan the A380 is slightly(3 meters) longer than the 747.. Only for the wingspan it's different( 14meters longer)... and what makes it kind of big is the two decks... that's all, after it's comparable to a 747...
A380: 79.8 m (261 ft 10 in) B747: 64.4 m (211 ft 5 in)
A380: Length 73.0 m (239 ft 6 in) B747: 70.7 m (231 ft 10 in)
A380: Height 24.1 m (79 ft) B747: 19.4 m (63 ft 8 in)
charlieechovictor 1 year ago
@biggestMetallicAfan but then you have to look at the performances, useful load of the A380: 624,800 lbs(283,405 kg) B747: 421,932 lbs(191,385 kg)
more useful load means that its more economical and ecologic than a B747, this is why an aircraft of this size is useful...
After it depends of what kind of operation they plan to do with it...
charlieechovictor 1 year ago
go boeing

It´s the EFB = Eletronic Flight Bag, that contains aircraft manuals, airport and airspaces charts, bulletins... The base program is windows...
But i dont have sure if the 787 EFB is in this exactly position. Regards

Ah, oops, didn't see your answer there.
Tjita1 2 years ago
Don't worry, that monitor and the computer that feeds it is separated from the rest of the systems. It's mostly for helping with calculations, logging and such. A similar system is used on tha A380.

ya mum's a boeing!
sam1975heavy 1 year ago
@boeingfan882 I love boeing. But there is a reason why there are 2 different kind of companies. people like organized and titty, so they go with airbus, the beautiful aircrafts. And people like boeing for how powerful it is! and they just want to get there quicker.

@boeingfan882 fuck off airbuss is the best and the greattst
