いい曲だ。高木東六先生は、戦中には自分の曲を肯定していたが、­戦後には詩を非難している。風見鶏だったのかな。１００歳以上生­きられたのは素晴らしいことだ。

軍歌は当時の詩人、作曲家たちが精魂こめて作り上げたものです。­決して軍国主義のものと排除すべきではありませんね。

空の新兵は高木東六氏の最高の傑作と思います。

this song praises the japanese imperial force.... i think.

i can read, write, and speak because of my cultural background, but my major was engineering, not japanese lit/art, so i cannot be too confident about it. the song seems to be straight forward and doesnt contain any cryptic phrases so i shouldnt be too far off

This song praised about the paratroopers(both Navy and Army have the parachute regiment) that attacked Palembang and Menado, former Dutch Dominion at Indonesia.

At the first phrase, a songwriter described about the scene - thousands of trooper's falling with white parachute from deep blue sky as "in full blossom of white rose".

And after the second phrase, he praised about troops fight as a manifestation of Yamato-Damashii - Japanese Spirits, sir.
