  • @cine6teen

Yes, I do. I have a HUGE rant at myself down there \/ about how I was a crappy fan because of that mistake. XD

  • if I'm talking to someone about hp i first ask what house they think there in. if they say Ravenclaw i then ask what the house colours are if they say blue/silver i just laugh and call them dumb-ass. you can't even be a legitimate hp fan if you haven't read the books let alone be in Ravenclaw.

  • Girl on facebook: You like Harry Potter?

Me: Oh my god, yeah! Do you?

Girl: yeahhh! Omg I love the books!

Me: really? Who's your favourite character?

Girl: omg, sirius snape! He's the teacher of griffindore, right?

    I FACEPALMED.

Me: No. *Severus Snape is the *Head of *Gryffindor. You can't love the books that much if you haven't even read them. ._.

    XD

  • @MissiCupcake553 uhh... Snape is the head of Slytherin and McGonagall is the head of gryffindor. LOL

  • @annanoodles

    SHIT.

I JUST RANTED ABOUT PEOPLE GETTING IT WRONG AND I GOT IT WRONG -____-

No, I know that, I was correcting the sentence and forgot about it XD

OH LORD I AM SO ASHAMED.

I'VE READ THE BOOKS LIKE NINE TIMES I SHOULD HAVE REMEMBERED THIS AUGHHHHHHHHHHHHH

    DX

I'm a better fan than I appear, trust me.

    *god i'm so ashamed*.

  • @MissiCupcake553 You mean Head of Slytherin, right?

  • Yay! Grammar Nazis!

I have this one friend who is team Edward.

I told her I was team Jasper, she didn't know who that was. I was like :O

And there was a time when the same friend tells me she's the biggest Harry Potter fan ever. We start talking about the books, she hadn't read any of them. We talked about the movies then, and she says she's only seen the first and ninth ones.

It suffices to say that we aren't very close friends...

  • I was talking to a girl once about Harry Potter, and she was saying she was a really big fan. Then I mentioned that Snape didn't betray Dumbledore, (this was before DH2 came out) and that she should read the books and she said "wat ther r books now?!?".

  • You need to bring back the grammar fairy . It's been quite a few years.

  • OMG! I sooo agree with the last onee!!! I have a friend who claimes to be a HUGEEE harry potter fan, but she hasnt even read the books, and now she wants to knit HP scarfs and she buying HP jewlry. BUT SHE"S NOT EVEN A PROPPER FAN!!!!!!!! GRR >:(

  • I love how she didnt even explain why she is annoyed by rosie o'donnell

  • This guy I know thinks he is a Harry Potter fan, but also thinks the killing curse is Abra Kadabra.

  • @oddrey52

I hate it when people think the killing curse is "abra cadabra". That's sort of a common thing for people to think.

  • I am a total grammar nazi. I'm always commenting on people's facebook statuses to correct their grammar. And they hate me for it (:

  • I remeber I used to have a "friend" (I actually though she was kinda of annoying, and still don't know why I used to hang out with her.) who used to do number #4 ALL THE TIME. I would even tell her later how she embarassed me whenever she did that and she would STILL do it.

Thank god this girl doesn't have friends anymore.

  • We need the grammer fariy in my town, I went to a grocery store and on the sign it said "5 apple for 5 buck"

  • i love how she asked her if she remembered that, and then told her she did.

  • Rosie O'Donnell's son goes to my school.

  • I'd ask you to the Homecoming dance, oh darn someone else did.

  • "Whom are YOU?...."

    that is HILARIOUS......

and I agree VERY much about the atrocious grammar that passes for the English language these days.....

  • I know someone who claims to be a huge Harry Potter fan, and didn't know what Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws are. Okay, its true, what the hell is a Hufflepuff and all that.

But still! She thought the Weasley's only had 3 boys!

  • That #1 thing was very good. One time I said I liked this song and one of my friends said they didn't know the song, my other friend was like "You don't know that song?" and I'm going NEITHER DO YOU!!!

  • Duddde i HATE when people copy me like repeating my sayings, getting the same clothes as me andd "liking" things I like:? grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • omg ik about the grammar thing. I think it's super annoying when people put stuff like this:

    your very funny

    when it's supposed to be

    You're very funny!

    UGHH :./

  • I hate it when people try to have entire conversations with me about something they know nothing about -_-

  • Number Two, Rosie O'Donnell.

  • If you teach lower income students in the South and they put apostophes EVERYWHERE - even where they don't belong. They show up sometimes at the ends of words...for no reason. And don't get me started on trying to explain the difference between accent marks and apostrophes...because it's completely lost on them!

  • what anoyes me is the miss use of 's....not to be used when making something plural... always miss used...

  • i just watched all of the annoyances videos starting at the very end

    (:

  • @edwardismyhomeboy23

    aha me 2

  • Ooh, what's the piano music at the end?!

  • aaaaaaah. i must be addicted. i keep watching this!

  • i wrote's this sentence' so youd visit me :)

  • You have really gorgeous eyes :)

  • at the end i can see the reflection of your computer on the window...lol had to point that out

  • English isn

t even my mother language and yet I talk it and write it better than quite a few Americans at my school. :P

  • I just had a little marathon of all your annoyances vids. They're so hilarious and I agree with almost every single one of them. Keep it up!

  • you have a tash

  • People have told me that they're really big Harry Potter fans and pretend that they know what Mugglecast or the whomping willows are. and then when I ask them what they think of the lastest Mugglecast they say something along the lines of "oh, I haven't gotten around to listining to it, It's the one about the book release of the next book in September." Mikey, I'm looking at you.

  • Great. Have to see all these.

  • I think the Grammar Fairy should become an established thing! If any of my home-made wands actually worked, I think I'd transfigure people into ferrets whenever they left out an apostrophe (WERE is a whole new word, people! And it DOES NOT mean WE ARE)!

And I think one of my top annoyances if when someone pretends to like something that's both a book and a movie (or manga and anime, whatever the case may be) and has only watched it. *Cough*HARRY-POTTER-WAS-A-BOOK-FIRST*Cough*

  • @BlackCat815 who the fuck cares?

    a) nobody

    b) nobody

    c) nobody

    d) grammar nazi

    GTFO

  • your hair is so pretty :D

  • how about annoying annoyances in fdaily comments? btw favorited the vid for the fairy outfit not enough vlogger/vids with outfits! kick ass song too!!

  • 5 things that annoy me u u u u and u

  • this video is the start of a legacy :)

  • HAHAHAHHAHA #2 Rosie Odonnel hahahah it was hilarious

  • I loved the HP one.

This was one gem I got

"I love HP. It's my favorite book of all time. When does the last book come out again?"

    x.x

  • It's like fanfiction. No one listens when you give them concrit about their grammar, and you wish you could just go in and edit their stories yourself. :\

  • I know what you mean with the Harry Potter thing i love harry potter soo much and when people say they do to then end up asking me if he is the one with the scar or the red head I just want to scream and hit them. -smoke starts rising out of my ears-

  • Here in UK there is actually an apostrophe society. Its members have been known to correct street name signs with permanent marker. They also got into a lot of trouble for it!

  • Anybody know which of Hayley's videos the 'Me. Yes. Me.' shirt is from?

  • I too, despise bad spelling, grammar, and punctuation. For example, I get annoyed most of the time when I see comments with "u" instead of "you", "ur" instead of "your", etc. And of course, using the wrong "your/you're" is another pet peeve of mine.

You are one awesome grammar fairy. :)

  • At 1:10 I was waiting for Andrew Sims to jump in with "HOLD UP, HOSTS".

Instead I get Hayley in Fairy form.

  • I couldnt help but laugh at this....and I TOOTALLY agree with it too!

  • rosie o;donnell lol yeah...

  • My co-worker does #5 all the freaking time. I hate it so much.

  • i am somewhat a grammar police but mostly spelling it just bugs me. even in text i check it

  • I hate grammar mistakes too. Especially when people do it on purpose lyk omg its lyk soooooooo awsum riteing lyk dis lyk chyeaaaah. Except typos.. I understand those because I do them all the time- my keyboard is fucked up and I don't care anymore.. i mean, hey if the person understands me then that's the point right?....... wrong.

Anyway, keep up the good work and you're awesome!

  • Hayley, you are hilarious. If you haven't read it yet, you should definitely read Eats, Shoots & Leaves. It's a book about punctuation. It is HILARIOUS.

  • LOL

Im gonna vote for Rosie O'Donnall to

  • In the grammar song you rhymed "I" with "I" :P

  • lmao "Get out of my house!"

  • LMAO

    Rosie O'Donnell???

  • i always find ur vids entertaining but this is the first time i actually laffed out loud =P

  • I agree with #1. Especially with people who "claim" to be huge HP fans.

"Oh my gosh, I LOVE Harry Potter so much! So ... Harry dies right?"

    WHAT. THE. %@$*!

  • ....Well....He DOES...for a little while..XD

  • @christinepotterrr my friend thinks she's a bigger potterhead than I am, But she was all 'Its Sirius Snape' and I was all 'Nuh-uh, NUH-UH. ITS SEVERUS SNAPE.' :L

  • @christinepotterrr

There's a girl at my school that has a reputation of being the biggest Harry Potter fan so I had a long obsessive conversation with her over it and I was having fun till she said

'I just love Harry Potter soooooo much! I'm even thinking about starting to read the books soon!'

I literally stood there with my mouth hanging open for about 2 minutes before walking away.

  • sounds like Mr. Howard

  • To Hayley G Hoover, I once again dub the winner of the ROFLMAO award for:

    "Number 3: Rosie O'Donnell. Number 2..."

    ...and for blooper...

    "I'm voting for Rosie O'Donnell"

...and for: The entire grammar fairy segment. :-)

Display this coveted award proudly on your mantle piece. :-)

  • "i'll dot your ts and cross your is... oh, that's not right."

    hahaha. i <3 you

  • You're great! I loved this video. and you have beautiful eyes (:

  • dead girl living there? come on. that is a giant fail in itself

  • i need you. i mean as a grammar fairy haha.

  • I love all your annoyance videos. I can relate to almost all of them, especially in this one about people saying things they don't know about. I am a huge Alice in Wonderland fan, and people always say things to me about the author being on drugs, and then not knowing about the books...it's annoying. One of my biggest pet peeves. I'm going to stop myself before I get into this long rant. I love your videos, please continue with your vlogging.

  • the grammar fairy would get on so well with my old english teacher. He made me apologise to a cartoon poster of "Mr. Apostrophe", that hung on the wall of the classroom, every time didn't use it in essays.

  • ROFL!!..... classic.

  • don't you mean the 6th harry potter movie... that comes out on july 17...

  • Look at the date the video was made, tard

I took a sharpie and wrote, "...My smart what?"

  • Hahahaha! Amazing!

  • Love the Grammar Fairy!

  • ill dot your Ts and cross your Is rotflmao

  • My dear Hayley,

I am deeply impressed by the fact that you know what to CALL adjectival and adverbial phrases, never mind when to use which.

Heaven help me, sometimes I go so long between sightings of "mantel" in reference to fireplaces that I think I must have made it up.

You have my blessing, dearie. Carry on. And when librarians yell at you for using your Magic Marker to make corrections in published books, tell them I sent you.

    Kisses,

    The Grammar Fairy

  • Whom are you?

    lmao

  • OMG yeah I hate bad grammar........

How hard is it to distinguish between it's and its and your and you're?

    Your stupid.

    My stupid what?

  • I absolutly HATE, and I mean HATE -and want to utterly destroy- elderly teachers that automaticly think they know everything about you!!!!

If that crazy old hag says I'm stubborn one more time!!!! *ROWR*

  • Aargh... sign me up for the grammar police... am seriously considering correcting the post five below this one, but I don't want to be rude...

  • I feel the same way about apostrophies!

    Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

(is that how you spell apostrophie?

  • I see I'm not the only one who can't stand Rosie O'Donnell

  • Will you marry me?

  • lolllllll ;)

  • You're HP story reminds me of the time on Nov 21 '08 when a girl in my Psych class was like "I'm going to see HBP today!! I love Harry Potter".

  • hahaha.

did you say something to her?

  • Yes, I did talk to her about it, but she WOULDN'T believe me. (I actually had to DEBATE whether or not it was delayed). I mean siriusly, it was pathetic. :)

Glad you thought it was funny too!

  • was SIRIUSly supposed to be apun? Because if not that is the most awesome HP coinsadence ever

    Lol

  • haha lol

  • hahaha the part with Rosie O' Donald was funny it was like: "number 3 Rosie O' Donald number 2..." it's like 'nuff said XD

  • Who's Rosie O'Donnel.?

  • Rosie was third? Shame! D<

  • It really annoys me when people write a small I for a pronoun.

    Arrrrgggghhhh!!!

  • Gramar rock's!

    (nyuk-yuk-yuk!)

  • Awesome!

  • i would...

  • ahaaahaa i like # 3 XDD

  • Hilarious! I think the Grammar Fairy (or Nazi, depending upon who you are) should come back.

  • omg you are funny and you should do one about mama mia

  • haha

one time my friends ex boyfriend got a tattoo on his arm that said "skies the limit"

and i said to my friend, "you know his tattoo is grammatically incorrect, its supposed to say sky's the limit...theres only one sky." it was this big joke for awhile...needless to say, he got a corrective tattoo to cover it up.

  • Omg xD This is worth a LMAO xD

Yay, the grammar fairy! That could be me xD Seriously, awesome video xD

  • LMAO!!! "The lady took one look down at your toes and gagged!" HAHAHA!!

  • omg i am a grammar fairy!!!

  • i feel sorry for the guys who don't get to marry her :)

  • I'm sorry that I'm a straight girl! This video was fantastic. Pay no attention to any of these kids girl.

  • So do I lol.

That was the funniest comment I've seen in a while.

  • Hi Hayley,

That was hilarious! I especially loved #3. It was short and to the point.

Your video inspired me to tell a joke I've only told once before.

A man is speeding down the freeway to the hospital with his pregnant wife, who is a Professor of English Language, lying on the backseat. She starts to moan.

The man asks, "Are you alright, honey?"

    She responds, "I'm having ... I'm ... it's ... we're."

What was she trying to tell him?

    Regards,

    Michael

  • I don't get it...

  • Hi Martinyearly,

Hayley mentioned contractions in annoyance #2. A contraction is a pair of words that have been shortened and joined together with an apostrophe.

The woman is pregnant and on her way to the hospital. While her husband is driving, she is experiencing contractions (labour). She emits a few moaning sounds, and when her husbands asks if she is okay, she responds with, "I'm having ... I'm ... it's ... we're." In other words, "I'm having ... contractions."

    Michael

  • Ahahahahahahaha

  • I wish I had a grammar fairy in my life. It's hard to be a writer when your grammar is hellish...

  • It went number 1 then number 3 then number 2... anways its cool.

  • Your number two annoyance is my number one.

  • Uhhhhhhhhhhhhh you're awesome <3

  • lol get out of my house

  • You're on YouTube? I really wanted to get on that but my doctor said it would counteract with my ther prescriptions...

that made me laugh so much

    *its subscriptions...

  • I hate it when people try to say they love something they know nothing about too, happens a lot when the subject of music comes up.

  • You have almost the same pet peeves as me. XD But grammar is the biggest for me. I like your videos!

  • Omg.. Harry Potter in April.. ugh, stupid people. I completely get that.

  • im probably wrong but didn't it come out in april this year? =\

  • July of last year. Only movies left. But fanfiction never ends lol

  • Grammar fairy <3

  • "and cross ur eyes, OPPS!" lool loved the blooper and the whole video =]

  • I'm voting for Hillary Clinton because I think it's time we had a black president.

That made me laugh so hard!

  • ummm i know nothing about politics and i live in australia so i know nothing about hilary clinton.. =\

  • haha, your lucky then!

  • why?

  • Because it's all nonsense. Keep in mind this is coming from a 16 year old who knows very little about politics.

  • I'm totally with you on the punctuation thing. I see people do that online all the time, and it drives me nuts!

  • get out of my house...hehe

  • number 3, rosie o'donnell AHAHA :]

  • I'm guilty of #5.

My little brother is incredible at video-games and I'm just above average, but I still tell him things like "Do a wheelie!" (Mario Kart Wii--which is the only video-game from the past 10 years that I play) and such things.

Also--BILL Clinton was also known as "The First Black President,"--just felt like acknowledging that.

I also dislike it when people constantly refer to things in the negative. When I write screenplays, that habit is how to tell what characters I dislike.

  • i'm voting for rosie o'donnell too! XDDD

  • You know what? The friends usually DO know it's embarrassing.

  • haha that was really funny, even though i like o'donnel

  • I Had That Grammer Song In My Head In My Modern Studies Exam Today!

    Lol!!

  • Hahaha

have you gone to the apostrophe abuse website? I'm sure you'll weep with all the misuse, but its funny none the less.

Theres also the blog of unnecessary quotation marks.

  • Yea Rosie O'Donnel annoys me too

  • Edit: I would buy your grammar song if it were available.
