  • this is really good

  • @philipchoi glad you like it ! thx !

  • Looks so effortless. A sign of a true master of the instrument. Wonderful :-)

  • @zalp66 thank you for the kind words !

  • Hi sir

Pleasure watching I am going thru lesson 7 sounds great can u plz give chords for this much appreciated you don't know but ur music will live forever with me n my daughter7 mths old thank u can I buy a cd off I for all

Ur lessions . Keep u in my prayers take care god bless plz reply

  • @11kerol hi ! i never wrote this tune down . i just played it by ear . i'm sorry, but i can't type the chords in for you, because i don't really know them.i just stack notes under the melody without thought of the chord names.i actually prefer arranging chord solos this way,as i'm not influenced by someone elses chord choice. thank you very much for listening ! :-)

  • I don't like scales, and of course I DO LIKE YOU sir. You've got such a smooth touch, I'm learning a lot from you. This is one of my fav songs. Love your version, like Chet's one but without Chet :)

Don't wanna be cheeky, but if you got some spare time do you think you can just write down the chords? no need of playing it over or making a tutorial! and no need of doing it, I am trying to learn from the video :) thanks for the emotions!

    Anna

  • @naan0905 thank you so much Anna ! i did this a long time ago , and i didn't write it out . :-( . i'm very lazy that way . i'm very old , and i don't know how much longer i have on this planet ,and i would rather be pickin than a writen . but if i decide to write it out i'll let you know . :-)

  • @freddym223 hey I am lazy too so you have my total support :) :) thank you very much for your reply and I will be happy enough to amuse my family on xmas day by playing your version of white xmas :)

  • Wonderful.

  • Oh no. Another great song to learn. Great big fat gorgeous chords, for some reason reminding me of the playing style on one of the few Johnny Smith tunes I can recall, (Old Folks).

    Thanks, Hashi

  • @hachamacha that darn Johnny Smith ! always trying to copy my style ! LOL ! i'll be looking forward to your version of this tune .

  • @freddym223 I warned him about copying you and that he should just buckle down and develop his own darned style rather than always going 'freddie', but no .. He just kept on copying you ;). A surefire recipe for disaster.

  • @hachamacha LOL !

  • Hi Sir, I'm going through to all your lesson, verry good lesson actually...

can you make the tutorial for this one, like you already did to "white christmast tab tutorial" hope you can make it...

keep up the good lesson sir : )

  • thankyou agusniemans14 if you notice,i'm using my thumb on many of these chords. most guitarists either do not want to use their thumb or else they can't use their thumb.therefore very few people would be interested in learning to play it like this.

  • Yes Sir, I'm notice your thumb work, and its work nice...I'm lookin forward for your next lesson Sir...I hope that will be the guitar chord solo tabs and tutorial, realy love your arrangements...thanks for your reply Sir

  • God, this one is just romantic, lovely and elegant. Perfect...Thank you again more all emotion you give us...Good continuation Freddy !

  • thx again SWORD678912 ! if i keep getting these nice comments from you lovely people, i'm gonna ask youtube for a raise ! LOL ! :-)

  • i just love this solo freddy i just love the tumb work in making the cords sound so full i to use my tumb a lot in playing after i saw you using yours and you said you where kind of ( Grede ha ha ha ha ) it was very painfull at first but now it is ok ,thanks again.

  • @guitarmanpollard if you get used to using your thumb it gets easier

  • Very good ! thank you

  • Nice

  • thx xp8ed !

  • Fred...Honestly, if I learn just one song from your videos, this is it. Such an elegant, timeless and tasteful arrangement. Thank you.

  • thank you artcore1950 ! i made this one almost to hard for me to play. lol !

  • sounds amazing sir!

  • thank you very much neilbalanay !

  • how nice and peacefull , with morning cup of coffe, ...

as I can see it is misty out side.... thanx , I hope when I growe up I will play like you ;)

  • thx dragophone69 ! but don't grow up ! i never did ! ;-)

  • Beautiful and heartful playing! What kind of guitar are you using?

  • That's beautiful

  • thankyou very much mklid !

  • Do you have a CD? I will definately buy it. Your playing is so soothing!!!

  • Hi Freddie that was a great piece played to perfection. I'd like to pick your brains. I play jazz guitar very well - know where all the notes are and can pick them accurately and know all the 2-5-1 and 6-2-5-1 etc. My greatest difficulty is to play a piece off the cuff so to speak like your "When I fall in Love" How do you break down a tune or just play it ad-lib. Hope you may have some pointers. Thanks and keep up that amazing playing. Rgds from a Fred to a Freddie.

  • thx menteton ! i just figured out a lot of chord solos by ear when i was young.then it got to be automatic.on the job, there's no time to figure things out.darn musicians won't wait for you. lol

  • OMG SO BEAUTIFUL ARRANGEMENT!!! :D I LOVE IT SO MUCH! It's kinda sounds like Spanish on middle of music and comes back to be a wonderful song!! Nice trying!! :D I LOVE IT VERY MUCH!!

  • thx for the very generous commentRichardNYPD !

  • oh yeah and by the way great playing as usual

  • thx darontimothy !

  • how do you know what chords or what kind of progression is it ?? BEsides By ear, is there another way to find it out? could you help me out. i will be a thousand times grateful :)

  • hi darontimothy ! i dont think of the chord names.i just listen to a singer to learn the melody.then i play it on the 1st an 2nd string and stack notes below the melody.another way is to get the music with the chords.

  • @freddym223oh that sounds difficult... well thnx anyways

  • @freddym223 ARE YOU KIDDING ME? YOU DON'T THINK BY CHORD NAMES? OH MY!!!!! No wonder you are so respected world wide. It is an incredible blessing to have such a gift by ear to go with your creativity. WOW Freddy.

  • thx Pam ! when i learned i didnt have books.just the radio.i never studied harmony.

i have no idea what i'm doing. :-(

  • @freddym223 Well just keep on not knowing what you are doing because it sure does work!

    Hugs,

    Pamela

  • darontimothy - i'll try yo find the music for you on the internet.might be in a different key

  • @freddym223 oh thnx dude, youre so nice:)

  • Lovely tone and playing.

  • thankyou very much ColinPRS !

  • Oh, that was really nice! Thanks, Freddym223!

  • thx SCNP !

  • I released this song as a soft-rock single way back with Felix Pappalardi producing us for Atlantic while he was working with Clapton and Cream. Someone actually put it up on uTube under the name of "Bartholomew plus Three" - guess we had one fan anyways...my drummer was Corky Laing who wrote Mississippi Queen and also did the drum track with Mountain (Felix and Leslie West). I like your version of it - Felix changed the chord structure completely when we did it.

  • thx HardRockLeadGuitar ! i checked it out and enjoyed it very much !

  • nice.

  • hi fred can i say that some guitarist go down the path of,look how fast i am ,and so technical that its hard to figure out what the hell they are playing, you are a lovely balance of music, and technique ,i need to sling my spanish guitar and get one like yours thanks for the inspiration

  • thats quite a compliment, comparing me with a jazz band! thanks listnstomusic!

  • Freddy - Where have you been all these years? in the late 70's I presented Barney, Herb, Tal, Chuck, and Charlie at a club called e.j.'s in Atlanta because they were my idols, and you would have been part of that list too. Wonderful style. Too bad the kids want to shred it instead of feeling the changes the way you do. Kudos . . . Wish I still had e.j.'s - you'd be top of the list.

  • thanks stevenegri! i was on the road in the northwest in those years.darn! looks like i missed out! :-(

  • thanks Paradiseforeverlost ! and you just made my day also with this nice comment! :-)

  • Aloha Freddy: This is one of my most favorite songs. I just got back from India a few hours ago, what a horrible place. Really nice to hear the beauty of America's finest guitarist, you! I kissed my front yard, and said,"The grass is green and clean!" I'll write you later and tell you all about it.

Always appreciate your comments and excellent teachings. I'll get back to guitar playing in a few days.

    Aloha Caramia

  • thanks and welcome back alohacaramia!seems like when we take a trip,it's always so nice to come home that it makes me wonder why we don't just stay home.lol

  • After India I never want to leave home again. I think I'll write a song about America. Overseas many people hate American's, hmmm,"I wonder why so many come to our great country, if they hated us so much." I think they need to learn to play the guitar sing and just be happy where there at. And one more comment, here is one more American that isn't every going to spend another dime, buying foreign products of spending it on trips. I'll get my video up on India and let you see, what really is

  • It was beautiful Freddy. Bodine recommended it or I would have missed the experience. Thank you.

  • thanks desrtlight! that was nice of Bodine! havn't seen a new post from you in a while

  • I've been working on my father's farm this summer and it didn't leave any time to do anything new. Now the harvest is over, I'll try to do something. The desire to play just won't go away so I'll keep trying to get time.

  • Love it Freddy! You're the Master Chord Dude! 8-)

  • great work, I loved the chords selection, that thumb really helps... recently I've seen a guy thumb as a 5th finger, its the only way I could play that 1st chord :)

  • thanks violaozim! sometimes i feel guilty using my thumb so much.i feel like i'm cheating. lol

  • Gosh! What a beauty! Some chords were pure frisson. Really beautiful.

I just noticed you use an ENORMOUS pick. What is it?

  • thanks pabzum! it is a pink 71mm jim dunlop, with a white turtle on it.i grind it down so it's smaller.for single note solos i grind it very thin.i'm always grinding picks down
