@Grosos101 A stage 1 GTI will hang with an R32 from a dig. From a roll a stage 1 GTI will put a good distance on an R32. If you account for the prices of both cars, for the price of an R32 a GTI can demolish it by going Stage 3.

mkv gti with apr tune+cai will smoke any r32 ... they fly but heaps of wheel spin.. of the line the r32 has the advantage but after 60km/h cya .. stage 1 apr tune for gti puts out an outstanding 411nm of torque !! that's massive for that little car

r32 sounds better, v6. but mkv golf is faster, the r32 has more potential, add a bi turbo or supercharger the r32 would smoke ferrari's.

i must however defend the mkv r32 against all you haters who say its less than.. when in all reality its a drivers car. its not about being all loud and fast, its about having the extra power and knowing it, its a luxury/sport/hot hatch.. the took a different turn from the mkiv i know that but it still does its thing and does it very very well. awd+dsg+3.2 vr6 = FUN! END OF STORY! leather seats, comfortable, and an overall well rounded car. 10/10 points for me! i love all the vws. V-DUB!!!!!

a stock GTI MKV dsg will beat a Stock MKIV R32. Even if you have a Manual Transmission on your MKV GTI, you could still beat a stock MKIV R32. Its proven, cough cough jnon1533.

Also, from what i have heard the R32 series is canceled do to their less than great Statistics. The New hothatch that will will replace it will be called the MKVI R20 and it will be the fastest VW Hot hatch yet!

@J3tta4VR6 the four whell drive system is helping only on the straight lines but gives a lot more weight to the car . you'll never see a mk4 r32 being faster in a corner than a gti v , and the r32 has so much more understeering with 4wd, and so much more weight on the nose of the car, because of the v6 engine, heavier than the 2.0 tfsi

a chipped mkv gti will beat an r32 any day of the week. a chip will essentially equalize the hp and give a lot more torque to put down. the turbo will pull way harder than the n/a motor. and lastly, with a ginormous v6 and awd. the r32 is a heavy beast. -i drive a mk3. i'd rather take a vrt in my car.

is anybody really paying attention to this video the r32(left) cathes MKvGTi(right)at about the 24sec frame and by 26-27sec is either infront or equal to GTi. At the 28sec he gets off the throttle because he realizes there is a car ahead of the GTi and doesn't need to provoke a wreck.

Although DSG is an incredible and highly sophisticated transmission, it's still an automatic, and lacks a certain "fun factor" found in a full manual transmission... still a great piece of technology though
