Actually (you may call me a fanatic) im a sunni and for your information we all believe that we are all united and we are brothers and sisters, please though research the other sects before making judgements on them, i did my research and found suffism to be quite different, it doesnt really correlate to the quran and yet it doesnt oppose it either so all i can say is that it shouldnt be considered a sect of islam, perhaps it should be considered a persian traditional religion instead.
When Celaleddin met ''sems-i tebrizi'' it was the time he became Mevlana, Some belives şems-i tebrizi killed by fanatics.... I love this part when Şems threw away Mevlana's books and said that forget them because real enlightenment in your soul.
it is my understanding that Sufism is Gnostic Islam; and actually predates the Quran.
