  • Then I khow how Bach have entertained in heaven...AMAZING

  • The King's singers

  • Hey can anyone tell me what's the actual song they sing when they say : "that's a problem i don't want to deal with how many permutations on c........ ".

If you could i'd be gratefull.

    Thanks

  • @CGTPCanal Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 in F Major, BWV 1047: III. Allegro Assai

  • No one else should ever sing this ever. No one could match this talent.

  • When Bach saw this, they should laugh a lot

  • dang, thats impressive

  • i can hit those low notes in the morning, can anyone tell me what that note is on "an" in "answer" at the beginning?

  • @psychodan13 C#

  • I Love King's Singers!

Just a little thing to point out: at 3:14 Nigel Short (the second countertenor) didn't manage to make the passage with the falsetto and his voice broke... in the oppostie way! Why couldn't he use his chest voice to blend in the sound?

  • @deejayL89 i have the certain feeling that they know what to do with their voices...

  • @deejayL89 Perhaps the note was too low for falsetto (which is why his voice broke) and he didn't expect it and didn't change to modal voice, which happens.

  • Amazing! Thank you!

  • BRAVO !!!

  • Make more!!!

  • These gyus are absolutely astonishing...

The chords at 03'35" are incredible...

    Thanks for sharing :-D

  • Now, said his wife, who was resting up after her 33rd child.

Johann, my dear, you should just go to bed.

    Something always comes up.

    :)

  • My professor accidentally sent us a link to this instead of the real song XD

  • lol....they are ingenious singers! I love them!

  • I prefer the new second countertenor to the old one.

  • WOW loving that the lyrics are here for us all 'To try and sing along'... hee hee :0)x

  • Hilarious!!!

  • Ich habe viele Kings Singers-Konzerte erlebt, aber ihre Potpourries wie dieses z. B.

    waren immer überflüssig und zeitraubend.

  • 4:30 and beyond is just incredible. Its pure Bach.

  • They are amazing. Even if, they are fatter than a faw years ago...

  • @BillRusuProductions Dumb? Hah. Lyrics, yeah, maybe, but then most promoted music today has even more dumb lyrics than that - and they can't match the humorous tone.

And today's promoted music is not even a tenth as good as that, and these guys don't even use instruments (except a mobile phone, but hey).

  • Just great!!!

  • MASTERS!

    5*****

  • I TOLD people this piece could be performed with only vocals!!

  • That beginning toccatta bit i mean

  • Fabuloso, simplemente.

  • that is really badass harmony

  • "How many arrangements of twelve notes can there possibly be?" jajajjajja lo había escuchado antes pero nunca había leido la letra

  • They were originally founded by 6 members of Kings College Cambridge chapel choir in 1986. Since then they have taken singers from other backgrounds, but mostly from English Cathedral or University Chapel choirs.

  • Actually, even on YouTube you can find recordings as old as 1978 from the KS. As a sextet, they were really founded in 1968. Also, one of the founding members - Anthony Holt - wasn't from King's, but rather from Christ Church, Oxford.

  • 1986, you say? Hmmm... interesting, since I've been seeing them in concert since 1980 and that was because I'd been listening to their records for years.

  • Whoops I mean 1968 not 1986

  • who are the "king's singers"? from the UK? a university singing group?

  • @charmingemily They are alumni of The King's College Cambridge choir, one of the world's best boys choirs. These guys are one of the best known men's acapella groups in the world, and many of the arrangements sung by other groups originate here.

  • wow how can they go to cambridge and be great singers at the same time? wouldn't you expect the best acapella groups in the world to be from conservatories? I think ian bostridge is from oxbridge too?

  • @charmingemily I am sure that the best singers would be from conservatories also, but in the UK choirs like King's are a high goal, similar to the best conservatories in the USA. These gentlemen regularly conduct masterclasses in US conservatories as well. Anyway, "best" singer would probably be subjective I'm sure, and down to personal taste, but no denying these guys are right up there with the rest.

  • hehehe, they make me remember to Les luthiers, they are awesome!!! :3

  • Oh the King's Singers are xxxx good actors! This performance is funny whereas the music itself is extremely beautiful.

  • I am japnese.. then if a lot of people call us crazy, we can keep emotion. But King's singer is too mach superior....

I always am suprised their chorus. the are outstanding...

  • You guys are so funny. Sweet. talent. Gosh.

  • 2:25 whatt??

  • Sublime!

  • I love the counter tenors face at 0:59 lol. He's like WTF? hahaa

  • i know right!! its so funny! its part mad, part wtf, part glare lol!

  • EXELENT!

  • Fantastic and very funny!!!

    They are the best :-D

  • "and now I've got a fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugue!"

  • Very witty!

  • That man can sing so low its almost insane. Its incredibly

  • If you want to here insanely low copy this in the youtube search:

    Alfabeto Angélico 1ª parte

  • Stephen Connolly, the bass in this video, can get a Bb. yes people can sing lower, I know some people who can, but to be able to consistantly be able to pull it out in performance is pretty awesome. Stephen is awesome!

  • I'll say! He's on the music advisory council for the national youth choirs - sooner or later I'll run into him on a course XD

  • I love this bass!!!

  • @Harriizz His name is Stephen Conolly. He's the best! :)

  • @Harriizz which?:D

  • Ahh! The beauty and versatility of the human voice!

  • what's the name of the tune at 'don't be a twit' (2:11) and also the 'don't get your knicker's in a twist' part, which comes after (2:35)?

  • The one at 2:11 is "Badinerie"

  • The 2:35 part is "Air" from Bach's Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D major.

  • @ZenkoXC dont get you knickers in a twist is bwv 1068, Orchestral suite no. 3 in D major aka. air on the g string.

    Was that precise enough? :)

  • Beautiful and hilarious.

  • awesome!

    excellent!

    the best!

  • Just brilliant! *****

  • Is someone knows where it is possible to find the partition of the king singer's songs? :o

  • spotify

  • Fantastic! Oh, that is sooooooo marvelous.

  • LOL this is just great!

  • this song is so great, iz was so fun to practise and perform it. it wasn't that good as the king's singers had done it, but.... this song is so great.

we sang it like 4 years ago or something.

  • Stephen Connolly is such an amazing bass singer! His low notes are so resonant!

  • I love the tenor (third from left). his facial expressions are genious (3:50 lol) and voice is even greater. Im a tenor in a choir and i wish i could sing notes with such conviction that he does

  • @sephiroth3782 ... Hee hee.. the Tenor you love, is called Paul Phoenix... If you look on The Kings singers website you can see profiles of all the fantastic singers past and present including Mr Paul (the eyebrows) Phonenix... Regards from Wales UK ... :0)x

  • Quite GENIOUS

  • does anyone know the names to the songs they're singing to?

  • oh how you do jest!

  • starts with toccata and fugue

then double violin concerto/ 2nd mvt

    Orchestral Suite No.2 - Badinerie

    Orchestral Suite No.3 - Air on a G-String

    Something

toccata and fugue again until the end

    all by bach

  • That "something" must be a brandenburg concert...maybe?

  • defenitly. love that one.

  • Brandenburg number 2, 3rd movement?

  • Yeah, that's the ticket.

    WWJD (What would Johann do?)

  • It's the first movement I think, the allegro?

  • genius!

  • legendary

  • Király! :)

  • these guys kick ass!!!!!!!

  • holy wow! this is hilarious!

  • That is bloody brilliant!

  • Epic win at life.

  • faces have nothing to do with the music. At least it means they are into this song. Not like those singers who have a face like that his father's dead. What's the fun in there? This song was supposed to be comedic.

    you're so lame.

  • J. S. Bach had a little problem.

    J. S. Bach was in a fix.

J.S. Bach couldnt find an answer.

    What to do?

Ive written most of a rather fabulous work. Toccata its in d minor but now Im feeling a bit of a jerk.

I cant think of what should come after it.

  • OMG it's my choir director...(gabriel crouch he's the second from the end on the right)

  • It's amazing!!

  • just listen to the supreme power of the bass good lordy incredible!!!!!!!

  • The male soprano looks like my uncle which slighlty unnerves me, but its still a great arrangement

  • fantastic!

  • this is amazing.

    PWNAGE

  • such an awesome group. I could listen to them 24/7 and never get tired of them.

  • that bass is a pimp

  • HAHA

  • This is the most unusual thing I've ever heard! It's awesome!

  • Simply amazing!!!

  • Fantastic! I love them :)

  • this song is amazing they just need to fix the audio so that it plays louder on laptops and computers without extra speakers if any one can oblige that would be fantastic

  • hahah....It's so funny!!

  • You know what Miley Cyrus, you are not a king and I would most definitely not call you a singer.

    Go away.

  • Where does Miley Cyrus fit in with the King Singer's? I think you're very confused...

  • so do i (who's miley cyrus)

  • hahahaha, I love this!!

  • Could somebody also tell me what song is this?

  • It's a song that combines many famous tunes composed by JS Bach. In the discussion below, all the separate pieces have been identified. The text of the song is new (I guess composed by the King's singers?), and is a funny song about Bach struggling to compose one of his masterworks

  • that's crazy! Very good, nuf said.

  • great!!

  • its on of the best arrangements on this planet...god damn i love it :D

  • that counter tenor is amazing even when he falters he perfectly recovers 3:15

  • Brilliant!

  • Im a bass in my choir, and I can hit the notes, but what power and ressonance Stephen(bass) has.

  • Oh my god! That's brilliant!!!

Does anyone know where I can find this song on CD?

  • absolut genial...^^

  • LOLZ!!!!

  • great work...

    amazing!

  • It is Nigel Short. He left to start the Tenebrae choir.

  • is there a video with the current KS ensemble?

  • Does anyone know who the counter-tenor is, second from left?

  • Robin... Robin Tyson. He is their Current Alto Counter-tenor.

  • Erm.....is that robin on stage in this video...?

  • "How many arrangements of 12 notes can there be???" lol i love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • richtig geil ehrlich respekt ...ia seid die besten!!!!!

  • Damn, I'm really jealous of their bass... wish i could pop off low C's and D's like they were nothing at all....

  • Brilliant!

  • Yeah Dream On...

  • At least you provided detailed, well-thought out criticism to back up your idea.

  • great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • could someone tell me what is the original piece what they sing in this video starting about 01:15...?! i long to know!!!

  • Sounds to me like the Adagio from Brandenburg Concerto No 3

  • It's the Concerto for Two Violins in D minor (aka Double Violin Concerto) - BWV 1043, second movement.

  • that's right! sure, look at this version, it is a wonderful one, there are many.

    Bach es la caña!!

  • so true about the umbrellas

  • man, the guy singing bass has an incredibly low range!

  • I've been at so many things like these... However, if you are at an open air concert - don't bring an umbrella!! If you want to stay dry, stay at home; otherwise you are selfishly denying the people behind you who want to see what is going on. Would you like the person in front of you to open an umbrella?

  • Bummer!... the ending is unfortunately not quite baroque because of the minor...

    nevertheless great

  • Sinister...

The ending they used here is the real ending to the toccata in Bach's Toccata and Fugue in d minor. The baroque style is characterized not by whether the piece ends in major or minor, but it's use of ornamentation and resolution of dissonance.

  • Pwnd!

  • I discovered a new fantastic group!

  • this new fantastic group is around for 40 years.

  • The Fugue - Toscata a fun performance, great harmonie singers ... next please

  • geat fun!

  • i finished my toccata, but i have no fuge haha

  • yo amo ingles

  • omh!! What a performance!

  • ehh...porq todo el mundo escribe en ingles??

  • companero, consolati con il fatto che usted puoi comprendere l'italiano y yo posso comprendere el castellano aun si non abbiamo studiato nada :)

  • I love their sound.... so great. reminds me of the comedian harmonie singers of germany!

  • Lol I like the reference to 12-tone serialism there . . .damn there are 479001600 combinations of twelve notes . . .

  • Jelsjefiederelsje is right. They are singing that he's missing his Fuge.

  • I think they say fuge... As in fuga. They say earlier that he has a tocata but no fuga. And the sound on the cell phone is the missing piece :) at least that's how I interpreted it...

  • I'd like to ask one thing...why is the cell phone the 'fued' or 'fuel'? But anyway, I still love their voices, n Stephen is still my favorite.

  • The melody the phone is playing is the Fugue - Toccata and Fugue in Dmin .. the phone plays the missing piece.

  • They are absolutely amazing. I've never heard Bach in such a manner before :D Awesome!
