I would NEVER take vocal advice from some YouTube commenter, and I think it's funny how many people (probably mostly Americans!) are afraid of honest perspiration.
Nice breath control on the high Cs! A little nasal in the middle voice, something which you can sort of get away with in the upper registers. Execution lacks "depth", but that is the nature of the voice itself. It is just the way it was given to you. BRAVO!! Wonderful execution!
he is nasal not totally and the sound is decent especially in the higher notes, the sound is tiny like florez but has the nasal quality of raul giminez (i think thats who im thinking of) this guy better high sounds than Flores he just needs to back off on the nasality in the middle voice.
I would have to disagree with you there. This guy might have a decent voice, but Florez doesn't have such a nasal tone, and Florez flawlessly hits those 9 high C's hence why he has been one of the only people to reprise a song at the met in 76 years...This guy really has to push to get the C's as you can tell by his face and actions. Overall it is pretty decent. Just not as good as Florez.
My ears or ideas of nasal are obviously flawed ... I feel that Florez has a more nasal tone than Pablo has and it was on that quality of voice that I prefer the latter to Florez.
I wouldn't say your ideas or ears are flawed, we like different things. I am just going off of the sheer entertainment of when I got to see Florez live and see him reprise it. That's like me not thinking Enrico Caruso is the greatest tenor ever.
The best rendition that I have heard of Ah mes amis was Pavarotti with Alfredo Kraus a close second. Just my opinion. As to the geatest tenor.. I think Caruso was the best but Fritz Wunderlich is my favourite.
I would agree Pavarotti has the best rendition of the song, hence him being known as "King of the High C's". Tragic about Fritz, Throwing aside my (and pretty much everyone's) love of Pavarotti, there really isn't another favorite, each tenor now a days has something they really are good at. I am starting to fall in love with Anthony Dean Griffey's voice, although he hasn't done much repertoire yet. Did great in Kurt Weill's Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny.

Very nice performance, nice legato and beautiful phrasing. The only thing that's keeping you back is your nasality.
Good luck! :)

Increible, tu voz se parece a mi maestro Juan Diego Florez.

Bravissimo, davvero eccezionale. Un tenore dalla voce limpida e chiara.

Excellent rendition . In my opinion every bit as good as what Florez has done

I would agree, Florez has a better balance of light and dark too and is definitely less nasal.
Having said that, it is hats off to anyone who can sing this and this is pretty damn good!

Splendid performance. What a BRIGHT sound... and squarely on pitch. Fine piano accompaniment, too. Thank you for this spritely video. FIVE STARS!

You are great, could you sing "Si, ritrovarla io giuro" from Rossini's "La cenerentola"?
