Well of course she is good witn money... She is related to Warren Buffet, and he is one of the richest men in the world... Oh wait, that isnt how names work is it
To Cenk, and anybody else who keeps trying to give Obama the benefit of the doubt: Obama was bought and payed a long time ago, and to keep hoping he'll do the right thing is like trying to resurrect roadkill, its hopeless. What makes Obama almost as worse as Bush is that he uses progressive talking points to gain the trust of the public. Obama will do the right thing...if he wants to do the right thing. But he CHOOSES not to do the right thing, its not so much that he's afraid...he's been bought
Cenk, Cenk, Cenk! I love you man but you need to stop letting these Democrats off so easily. The Dems have a majority in the House and Senate, they can pass nearly anything they want BUT choose not to. Liberal has become a pejorative term and these Democrats do not want to be considered liberal. Dems would be opposed to voting for Warren just as Republicans would. Let's criticize both sides evenly instead of focusing on one!
Ok I'm stupid and here I am. We have the best possible person to head up the Consumer Protection "Elizabeth Warner", BUT Noooooooooooo! The D & R's are bought and sold by the LARGE finical Bankers. I'm Stupid that we don't think this is a good idea. Weeeeeeeee! This @%$^#@%#&^# is not right! Why vote for any of these D's & R's. There not looking out for anyone interest but there own. AND I'm stupid. Jeeeaseeee!
Whoa, the Obama admin wants it two ways? Pass a finacial regulatory bill, but don't give it any teeth. Why? What's their net gain in the long run? A continuation of the status quo helps who, and how, and how long?
@882me - I believe the idea is to put a container in place that future government actors can fill with whatever is appropriate for the time. In that way, Obama's work was successful. I feel they didn't go far enough, with financial or health care insurance - but the concept may be sound, and allow for smoother passage of refinements and additions in the future.
Obama sucks. Either he's the weakest leader in history or he's the most bought, and it's probably a combination between the two. We need a primary challenger.
I disagree with Sirota though. The Republicans have done everything they possibly can to shut down everything they possibly can up until now. The only thing you risk by pissing off Republican politicians any more is if they start hiring hit men or actual armed thugs. They're already using 100% of their power to ruin the US government. Give up on them, push your real agenda without compromise, and hire Bushido Brown to be your bodyguard.
Loved Elizabeth Warren since the first time I saw her interviewed. They're like, "Where'd the money go", and she didn't backpedal, she didn't give a political answer, she said, "I don't know... There's nothing I can really do about it"
Everything Cenk says, is NOT 100% on point. Stop worshipping Cenk. As soon as a republican jumps aboard he toe touches all over the fucking screen. I thought he said theres no hope for bipartisanship. I think Cenk is just coo coo for attention. STFU!~
I think Elizabeth Warren should be the President of the United States and Obama should be head of the Consumer Protection agency. Is it too late to do the switch?
Cenk MSNBC review: hey, your tie's askew. And you're accepting Ms. Warren's reputation without any critical review. "Hey, they say she's a Progressive! I love her!" Just like we got suckered by Candidate Obama. How are you NOT playing the part of an MSM puppet here?
I disagree that the white house is doing this all because they're afraid of the Repugs. They're also doing it because Geithner's a pal to the bankers.
@hochdaddy - Or at least that's the way Warren's portrayed in the mainstream press. More likely, she's looking out for American's prosperity in the same way Obama was when he was a candidate in 2008 - as a resource to mine. Come victory and receiving the keys to the executive washroom, and you'll find that very little changes except the faces.
There is something wrong with our society when the people being regulated get to have influence over the rules. Now if there's unfair regulation, I can see a point for them to be fighting it. This isn't unfair regulation though.
@danmarg83 The banks are spoiled, so just like any spoiled child, the slightest hint of the word no makes them cry like it's the end of the world. Shame, SHAME on those enabling this behavior.
@Skwiggs102 Yes! Shame on all of them. In fact, we should have a year of HARSH HARSH HARSH regulation just so they realize how good they had it. Maybe then they'd settle for reasonable regulations.
The Marginalization of the beliefs of the majority of population is basis for any authoritarian dictatorship. Anyone spinning a negative view of majority's view is probably working for some part of the power structure framework. Therefore anyone calling for inaction in their comments are in fact probably working for some part of the mass media elite.
I know there are still those out there who hold the hope that the people are still in charge of our political system, I wish I were still one of them. But I see the corporate influence, the stacked courts, the stacked Supreme Court, the elite banking cartel, and we just don't have the power to influence jack. Liz won't be appointed, if Obama was going to, he would have done it by now. Except your masters and learn to live with them.
the dems should ignore the reps and just and go ahead and push through what they need to it might be a long time before they have another chance if the brain dead republicans regain control cause we all know they cant stand a black prez and it freaked them out so many young ppl voted
At this point the republicans filibuster and stall on everything. I think democrats need to change the gameplan and factor into all of their political calculations the fact that the republicans will never, ever work with them.
They should only work with the republicans if the republicans choose to, they should not waste any time trying to make them work with them.
If you don't oppose each and every republican and their brainwashed supporters then you are the "enemy domestic" you may have heard of. By allowing republicans to benefit from the advantages of living in civilized surrounds you are giving them the very benefits they take for granted which they would deny everyone.
Boycott the republitards, cut them out of society. let them go live in a damn Montana cabin with the other assholes with no education.
What I don't get is who do they think they are fooling? Most conservatives are mad at any sort of banking reform and don't trust anything Obama does, most liberals know this isn't reform, most moderates know it isn't reform - are these guys just playing this out for themselves?
@TheGiantRobot reforms will only be as good as the regulators they put in place make them. thats the loop hole in he bill. the way leadership and athority are set up leaves the question wide open. *sighs*
Yeah, and it goes beyond that. If you have strong laws and a weak regulator, other people can still put pressure on through other avenues, like through the courts. This is weak reform that's almost impossible to do any good with, and they are trying to get someone in there who will make sure no one tries to.
Well of course she is good witn money... She is related to Warren Buffet, and he is one of the richest men in the world... Oh wait, that isnt how names work is it
