Instead of taking the time to find out any facts for herself, the questions and information from the reporter were based on what she heard versus what she found out for herself. When that knowledge was challenged by one with more facts and experience, she had no response. "Retreat" would be a better word. An un- or misinformed retreat.

They spent 25 yrs and $30BB developing that with pipelines to bring fresh water to 80% of all cities. It was also being used to irrigate large amts of land.

First, there are no 2 "parties" in the US. They work together under the real rulers - they take orders. They are managers. Second, there have been CIA operatives inside Libya for decades. Third, the US, although wanting Libya's oil fields, is using military resources sparingly in because a US/Israeli attack on Iran is imminent. Not an "invasion" (Iran is too powerful for that) but a massive bombing of infrastructure. The wishful thinking is "regime change" in favor of fossil fuel corporations.
