We really need to find a cure for homosexuality. There should be more money spent on this research. The cure is salvation. Salvation can change a drug addict, drunkard, smoker, adulterer, and a homosexual among other sins. Homosexuals should be gleeful about the DADT because it does allow them to serve in the military. They shouldn't complain because they are getting away with it. they should celebrate the fact that there is a government mandate that makes military leaders literally look the other way while a law is being broken. Ok, so if we leave religion completely out of the issue, DADT is still a benefit for homos in the military. It acts as a live and let live policy that literally looks the other way at law being broken. Think of it as a get out of jail free card.
The US military is not an equal opportunity employer. If you don't like the rules then don't apply. You can serve your country in other ways. What exactly is the problem???.

@nossful - DADT benefits no one. In 1993, prejudice of military commanders was so strong that the myth about unit morale and cohesion was invented. You can read an article in the Washington Post about the myths of DADT. The US military IS an equal opportunity employer - if a person can do the job. DADT ONLY applies to gays and lesbians which is discriminatory and also unconstitutional. Gays and lesbians must lie whereas heterosexuals can talk all they want about their dating, sex, love, etc.

@nossful - The military is conducting unjust searches and is selectively enforcing DADT. There have cases where private e-mails, cell phones, and other personal information were searched in order for discharges.
There have been cases where outside parties reported soldiers, such as the police with a soldier who married her partner and the police reported it.
There have been cases where solider under investigation were sent into combat but then discharged only after they did their duty.

First, I would like to say that I know Eric Alva, unlike others in these postings. We were stationed and worked together for 2 1/2 years in 29 Palms, CA.. Secondly, I have no ill will against a gay person I know several men / women that are gay and we laugh and joke. I'm a retired "gay LTC" .....It's a shame that I had to live my life as a "hidden" person for 21 years....Over the years I served with hundreds of others like me.....we were ALL Outstanding Soldiers....General Pace needs to retire....

Would it be illegal for someone to suggest to peter pace that his wife is dressed like a whore when compared to biblical standard of a woman's attire? And go on to say therefore she is immoral and so is he for letting her dress that way? I bet 99% of the wives today would be considered dressed like a whore by biblical standards. The difference would be an added sin by peter of hypocrisy.

Grrr... They condemn homosexuality as an immoral/evil act, and that's why hate crimes against homosexuals occur! That's why innocent people like Matthew Shepard get killed. Do they even know the definition for the word "immoral"? Homosexuality isn't and never was a choice. And most importatnly, THEY ARE NOT HARMING ANYONE for being who they are. Therefore, why does it have to be considered immoral!? People who condemn homosexuality as immoral are the real immoral ones.
