I have been to Dachau, seen the ovens and believe they did use them to cremate bodies. But the numbers DO NOT ADD UP!! Especially during the last few years of war due to the lack of coal. To those who talk about burning in pits: It is the most inefficient (idiotic) way to try and burn anything but liquids, simply because of the need for the fire to freely suck in air.
When there is a destruction of animals due to some outbreak, have anyone seen them burned in a pit?

I have been to Dachau, seen the ovens and believe they did use them to cremate bodies. But the numbers DO NOT ADD UP!! Especially during the last few years of war due to the lack of coal. Yes thats right! They used coal to fire the ovens in the early years, then wood in the latter years which took more than 8 hours per body. Did they kill jew? YES! was it 6 million? No. Did they experiment on prisoners? Yes! Course you don't mind it when they use information gained then to save lives today!

They were built to last what, a couple years at most provided they were re-sealed/maintained at regular intervals and properly? If you do not believe Wikipedia's story on it there are plenty of other highly respected websites that tell the same story about this case. David Irving was jailed in Austria, a country that he surely would have known has laws against Holocaust Denial. He went there looking for trouble and found it.

There were no fire pits because places like Auschwitz were build on wetlands.
The water table at auschwitz if fout feet below the ground, it's why you never see a pit in any photosgraphs, even from the allies. Had there been pits, you better believe there would be photos of them, it is also why there could not have been mass graves. Dig a hole, you get a pool!

person below me, you have to keep in mind they claim thousands were cremated daily. this wouldn't have worked in the wintertime, seeing as how camp ovens were fired with coke. which is coal with the volatile oils taken out. if you know anything aboutn poland's winters, you'd know that they are cold and wet. if coke gets wet, it no longer is able to burn at all.

First of all, there were never 52 ovens running at any given time, less than half could be operational.
Second 52 oven were not build at the same time, there were literly only a hand full at the begining, you need to read up on this matter.
Third, the amount it takes to creamate a body is 1.5 to 2.5 hours, which still left all the bone to deal with.
So I'm curious how you came to the conclusion that they could have creamated millions in one month?
