  • ...or you could just use koi clay...

  • nice koi man :O

  • Where do you live? I might be able to sell you some japanese imported koi.

  • What brand is that filter? And where did you get it?

  • Don't you have to have a fence around a pond that size ? in case kids fall in ? we would in Australia.

  • I have a quick question, i have 2 UV lights and one of the sleeve's popped, I am looking for a new one but i can only find quarts sleeves, quarts sleeves block UV rays, this will make a UV light useless right? So my question do you sell any on your online store that are glass? i would probably by one.

  • The quartz sleeve protects the UV lamp. If the light had one, then you have to replace it. Savio has updated their UV several times and parts are a nightmare. I may have a sleeve, what wattage is your unit?

  • I have two 57 watt units but i only need one sleeve they are a pain in the but to find, and cost around $69.99, are there any for cheaper? Thanks for replying

  • I should have one, let me double check...they are around $60-$70. I will let you know.

  • so a uv light removes algae from the pond?

  • Do you have any other filtration on that pond? Oh and i actually got a Used Full size Savio skimmer filter with two 57 Watt UV lights and transformers for only $125.00 i am in the making a a video so stand by!

  • savio is expensive but if you can spend the money, you will be payed off with the quality of the equipment!

  • Very nice set up, I do my own home made back yard stuff on the cheap, with the help of UV.

  • I bet those bulbs go out very quickly.

  • no they will last a long time, for the one i used for my 3,000g pond since 2006 and its still lights up. i don't have a clue why but im still using the same UV bulb when i bought it!

  • Is it still effective at depleting algae and parasites?

  • i haven't lost a fish yet, and the water is clean ever since i had the uv lights on so i say its still working. if i have a camera i would record it on cam and upload it. i also have another small 9watt uv for my 50g indoor tank i had it for 1 1/2 years its also still going. i think if you take good care of it, not shaking it or dropping it, the bulb will last.

  • I bought a Savio 8' x 11' kit online with free shipping and a free UV light for $1112. It came from Ponds123 in Florida and I got it in less than a week. I'm going to install it with a bunch of hungry and thirsty brawn this weekend. Check my videos and then buy stuff from Pondmarket, especially if they are local. Their videos have been very helpful in thinking this project through. I now feel like I can actually do it. We'll see.

  • how long do those uv lights usually last for before you have to replace them?

  • hey! i was checking out all of ur vids and was trying to solve my algae problem with UV's but thinking it was to complicated to incorparate into my pond... but that model you were showing would be perfect for me, being that i have that same savio filter/skimmer. now knowing nothing about UV's myself, what are my options that i'm looking for that would fit in that savio?

LOL had no clue what those side compartments were for...

thanks, you made my problem a little closer to being resolved...

  • Glad I could help. There are 2 size UV options for that Savio - and Savio completely redesigned both of them. Shoot an email over to Dave @ pondmarket . com and he will give you pricing and delivery info. Thanks!

  • i went to pondmarket. com and didn't see anything that resembled those 2. i sent an email to dave, can't wait his response.

  • Thanks for showing how that works!

  • Hey, no problem! If you want to know how anything else works, shoot me a comment or email. Thanks for watchin!

  • Aaron, i finished all the videos so far here, and its the best videos info ive seen in 8 years.

Question- is it true that water lillies sould be in calm water?

  • Thanks! Water lilies will survive in turbulent water, but, they will not flourish or bloom frequently. It is best to have them opposite a waterfall or away from a fountain. Water collecting on the pads of a lily will cause them to turn brown and die.

    Hope this helps!
