Nick was one of two guys to replace Phil Collins on the 1997 Calling All Stations Album/Tour. Most of the drumming was done by the Israeli session drummer Nir Zidkyahu (Nir Z) who recently went through the thankless task of playing thousands of single hit samples for Toontrack Superior Drummer 2.0 drum sample library.
I reckon Jimmy Keegan probably has the edge, but hey, D'Vigilio also plays keyboards and sings, so who complaining? I've seen them live and they are both amazing, as is the whole group :-)
All I can say is this, these guys are much better then most of the drummers I hear playing on the radio. And I guess I will throw in one of my all time favs, Steve Gadd. Now, if you don't think he's one of the best, you got something wrong with you
I saw this duel at the concert in Budapest. This is till my private best for this year! (Dispite of other perfect concerts like Dream Theater, Tori Amos, Genesis, etc..)
Jimmy Keegan won that one by miles xD

wow i love both of these guys
they play my two favorite drums two: mapex and tama
nick, however, has quite the smoothness though
and i hate to say that cause jimmy is amazing too, but nick is more smooth live

oh, don't be silly... there's a 12 years old boy playing better stuff (YT/watch?v=J6T4OwacRL0)...

He doesn't now, though...

Are you talking about Tony Royster Jr.???
danimourinho 4 years ago
yes. IMO - most of the signicicant jazz drummers are a way better. Keegan is good, but really not the best.
rioted 4 years ago
And tony Royster neither....

I didn't say that he is. I just said that he could play better when he was 14...
If I say that 18 is more than 7 even if you divide it by 2, I don't mean that there's nothing more than 18.
And I don't feel like being the one, who can judge the best...
