This aria was done very well. Beautifully. 2.15-2.35 was just luscious. That bridge of the sone is always fascinating to listen to annd here by R. blake it was just so expressive and very very moving emotionally. i also love the way he comes in just a bit earlier at the end ...quite effective. I wish he was performing more nowadays. He could really be needed as so many singers in opera are rather limited in what they can do besides over act for silly directors in ugly nonsensical productions.
The open vowels, on occassion, are a distracting. The top is fine,it is the passagio where he makes his mistakes. Do love him, though, in the high, athletic, florid pieces. Oh well, it is live and can't expect perfection.
Actually, I'm on Yt, & yes, the folks have voted them all 5 stars. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of RB. Nothing any of us could say could detract from his fabulous career & rank as THE Rossini tenor of his era.
God...heavenly...soooooooo beautiful!! THis now rivals Stuart Burrows as my favourite recording of the aria. This has to be classed as one of Mozart's most delicious arias :)
Coloraturafan, thank you sooooooo much.. What a day of pleasant surprises! You have a fabulous collection of videos, thanks a lot for sharing them. I love this aria, so lovely voice.. Thank you!!

Listen to the rest of this recital and point out more of his mistakes. I'm interested now.

I am interested as well. I would be more than happy to hear perfection from yourself.

Cmq, secondo me è un grande
