sorry i was a bit harsh there on reflection. However I have carried this out and been on the receiving end. To be fair if no-one did it you would feel a bit left out. I'd say it happens before 90 per cent of Scottish weddings
Sure it was great fun! But I can see it might not appeal to everyone. Also this is a particularly harsh one. You tend to gauge how messy to get them by how well you know them
So if someone did this to you and it wasn't part of a wedding celebration would you stil enjoy it? I guess I just wouldn't enjoy having disgusting food concoctions dumped on me while my friends stood around laughing hysterically.
