I just checked 4 of the 20 different Garmin models we currently, and found that Taiwan was the country of origin on all of them.

Of course, keep in mind that that can change as manufacturers sometimes change where their products are made based on the factory offering the best production value.

If the Garmin is totally down, takes 6+ hours to fully recharge.

How do we make a "space" when typing a name, like

Hi there. I was just wondering, can a person play music files using the Garmin nuvi 260W which are stored in an SD memory slot?

Yonathan,

The SD card slot is for additional map data you can get on optional SD memory cards from Garmin. The 260W (and it's replacement the 265WT) can also display photo images from an SD car, but not play music files.

Many car stereos have SD slots that can be used for playing music. We can help you make that happen if you give us a call.

How long do you charge the garmins battery for? Is it possible to burn out the battery if u charge it too long?

You may have blown a fuse in the cigarette lighter power adapter. Check page ten of your owner's manual for info on how to replace that. You can download the owner's manual from Crutchfield if you need it.

You probably didn't overcharge your battery.

The difference between the two is the screen size. The 260W has a 4.3" wide screen compared to the 3.5" touchscreen on the 260.

The current models, the 265T and the 265WT, are the same sizes as these models from last year. In addition, they include an FM-TMC traffic-info receiver with subscription-free updates.

the 260 has a smaller screen. the W in 260W stands for wide screen. 3.5ich opposed to 4.3 inch screens
