Well done man, especially with respect to the funky timing on this one. The SG's fab, BTW.
Can I make a ridiculous request (but one well within your skill set) ? Blow us all away and play the stretch from Mean Mr. Mustard/Polythene Pam/She Came in Through the Bathroom Window/Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight from Abbey Road...
hey marc, you been listening to the white album brother??? good take of the song m8.Weller comment you made is correct, he makes albums now that i just dont have an ear for really?? his best solo stuff was STANLEY RD, WILDWOOD and HEAVY SOUL as far as albums are concerned.Since then i like one or two tracks but nothing more than that?? agree with the passion of his JAM covers as theyre either too slow or lack a punch???
@uglybus7 Yeah, love Lennons rocking tracks like this and Revolution. Shame about Weller, I just wish he'd done some of his Jam tracks in the 90's when he used to put some effort in
Beyond complimenting you on the song, I must say that I agree with you about Weller's last few albums. As much as I try to get into them, they just don't have the energy of his work with the Jam. I was thrilled to see him pick up (now Craddock's?) old Rick and give it a good workout.
@hofnericon Thanks again - I love this song!! Yeah like most artists of his age, he's a creative spent-force I'm afraid to say and his Jam renditions are just lifeless. It is good to see the black Ric, although it looks like its been refinished. Speaking of Ric's, I just bought a 1998 Pete Townsend on ebay about 30 minutes ago, so will be duty bound to re-record My Generation with it.
@spitefulload i only record on weekends but a lot of my uploads are from my old channel that got deleted because of a bullshit claim by sony on a dylan cover i uploaded.i had 300 vids on there of 3 years of work all gone.are you going to see weller in november??
@backinnyc2010 Bummer!, still at least you've got the originals to upload again. You must have had a lot of hits on the Dylan cover to warrant their action.
Probably won't see Weller - as much as his music has been part of my life, there hasn't been much I've liked in the last few albums and I don't like the way he does his old Jam songs - he doesn't put the energy or feeling into them
why have you left the Gibson Custom sticker on?

@vmanbeatles It was a 2010 model 61 reissue - the 67 has the larger 'batwing' scratchplate
