  • Damn that was eargasmic. Nice build! :D

  • @XxStalkerxSasquachXx I sold this thing a while back. I miss it. It was slow and dangerous but whenever I rode it I got the full effect!

  • @krugtech Well it does sound very dangerous, but I can imagine that raw power, hehe.

  • what is your wheel inducer ant turbine exducer?

  • would it move without the use of afterburner?

  • @flaps20check yeah, just not as fast.

  • How many lbs static thrust does this engine develop?

  • @kinsley2108 about 100 pounds full afterburner

  • @krugtech Nice,

  • @krugtech That engine would've worked a treat on the kart we built, I had a 20lb thrust motoring us along. Lookup "red bull groundhawk"

  • hallo what kind of injector did you use for propane in the combustor an what kind of oil pump did you use?

  • For anyone asking how to make an afterburner, all you need to do is inject fuel just behind the exhaust, where the exhaust is hottest. Pretty simple, no spark, the fuel will ignite on it's own with help from the hot exhaust

  • looks dangerous

  • lol!! cool!!

  • on most commercial jet engines you can shoot out thick clouds of white smoke i don't know if that is the main jet or afterburner but can you do it with yours and if so how

  • @maxpower14843 < To make the white smoke you must have a hot engine. Spool up the engine and kill the spark but keep the fuel flowing. Jet fuel is simply kerosene, that's really all it is...charcoal lighter fluid. Just like on the bbq when you put fluid on hot coals to restart the fire you get white smoke. So on a jet you kill the spark and same thing happens cold lighter fluid..ahem, I mean "jet fuel" on hot metal=hella smoke.

  • @tubesteakdynamo actually jet fuel is closer to diesel than kerosene even though they are pretty close... JP4, JP5, and JP8 is what we used in the navy... all diesel, just have different flashpoints

  • Hey dude, congrats! this video is SUPER COOL! Yeah!

  • holy shit,how in the.........

  • can i buys this from u

  • How do you get the engine to make the smoke?

  • what the fuck that was crazy!!! i would jack off with that shit.

  • what type of motor and oil pump did you use?

  • What gas do you run on for your jet engine?? Or do you use propane. If so, how?? My boyfriend is currently building his own jet engine and I'm trying to help him figure it out. I would deeply appreciate your help. Thank you!

  • OMG I WANT ONE!

  • im just trying to find out how to make a homemade proppelar engine but this wa pretty cool

  • that was just tops!!!!

    well done!! :-)

would you upload or email your plans? it looks great from here!

  • i want that .

  • sorry for 2 comments....u should pass people on the highway and record the look on their faces!

  • how do you activate the afterburner? just add more propane pressure?

  • I just squirt some raw fuel into the combustion chamber without using a nozzle, the raw fuel burns slow and makes a little fireball shoot out of the turbine exit into the afterburner. it's called a hot streak.

  • bad.....ass!

  • now you've got to make an engine with multiple mister nozzles for the fuel to be injected through, and a turbine in the exhaust to power a fuel pump. add those things, and you'll have a completely independent perpetual engine.

  • @techohead01 I don't need any fuel pumps with this design, just an oil pump that's driven from a battery. I'd like to power the oil pump from the turbine somehow.

  • place a small generator just before the compressor blades. thats what i would do. although im noob when it comes to jet engines. xD

  • @krugtech im sorry what is the after burn??

  • how do u make something like this

  • That fucken tight

  • step two: install into batmobile

  • that is awesome

  • the afterburner help with ur thrust by 50%

or so i heard and can cook ur roadkill

  • thats when the family started eating smoked roadkill. xD

  • Awesome

  • you would get more thrust out of a narrower nozzle or tip what ever you call it as long as is nicely welt to the vehicle.

  • No you wont, how do you know it isnt already optimized?

  • because the flame isn't uniform.

  • What's the top speed, LOL!?

  • What is the fuel economy of that - how many MPG does it do?

  • 1/10?

  • What does it matter thats some good fun right there.

  • sounds like a twin turbo hairdyer

  • Come on !!!! It's sooooo simple everyone..... don't ya get it ? the afterburner is simply a tool so you can cook the roadkill after you run it over. yuuuuummmmmy jet engine Skunk & Polecat truffles.

  • When i get the equipment, im going to build one and we're gonna race. what model turbo did you use and how many gallons/litres of fuel did you burn in that run?

  • nice, use the afterburner for some inital thrust

  • dude u should have put some reversers on it so when u slow down

    man that would be sweet

  • whats it with everyone and reversers?

  • lol idk

but man that needs md-80 style reversers

except for sideways so it dosent hit u in ur head

  • NICE!!

  • afterburners are just a waste of fuel dangit quit trying to put them on and test them w/o

  • The afterburner makes more thrust, it's just not very efficent.

  • solid rockets next!

  • That's great! Now maybe some thrust reversers?

  • Wouldnt catch me driving a kart with a homemade jet engine, unless I felt like some homemade 3rd degree burns

  • play Monopoly, be sure to use the fake money, it's very safe. Stay away from sports and hobbies, you could get hurt. Watch a lot of TV. Stay off the internet- Viruses you know. No guts, no glory

  • your the man

  • BURN!! Nice vid btw

  • LMAO. Not at the guy's efforts in building the jet engine but at the homemade 3rd degree burns. LMAO

  • propane or gasoline?

  • liquid propane for the turbine, 25% gasoline 75% diesel for the afterburner

  • Just a question (maybe stupid): The kart started moving just with the jet engine trust, or did you accelerate with the cart "default" engine?

  • pure thrust

  • looks like fun...

  • Ok, my bad, I should've looked closer at the engine. Nice design, but I'd not use it for a kart, unless you have some really good shielding between you and the engine.

  • To be more specific, that's a pulsejet engine, look it up. They have many different designs, but they sound basically the same, and they are quasi fuel efficient.

    Nice Kart BTW

  • No, it's a (single stage) centrifigual-flow turbine. Most turbojet/fan/prop engines are cent. flow, but the Mitsubishi MU-2 was cent. flow, too.

A pulse jet is like the German "buzz-bomb" of WWII.

  • meant to say "most tj/tf/tp are AXIAL-flow. Sorry.

  • he he sounds like an over charged leaf blower its sweet

  • okay when does the fun begin?

  • 1:45

  • that was fun

  • Don't mind the negative comments, your cart is awsome!

  • brzmi jak sokowirowka.

  • long walk back bro

  • How long does your fuel last on this thing?

  • you should attach four wheels to it to see how fast it will go.

  • oops i recall my last comment.

  • Anti tailgating car!

  • when the afterburner blew out, it almost touched the grass!! That would,ve been bad. lol.

  • daaaaaaaang...that was...ah oh.....Poof ..Poof

  • oh man i have to build one of these. any tips?

  • chck out diygasturbines at yahoogroups dot com

  • OMG !!! AWESOME MATE !!! Whats the actual speed of your monster ?

  • it did 70 mph in the 1/4 mile and it was still pulling at the end of the track

  • Gimme Fuel,gimme Fire,gimme Double Ya Desire! Tara,ta,Tara,ta,Tara,,Tara,ta,Tara,ta,Tara!

  • FUCK YEA !!!!!

  • I can't drive FIFTY FIVE!!!!!

  • lmao

  • That'll teach those tailgaters.

  • much respect doodz. awsome!

  • what did you top it out at?

  • haha im pretty sure thats not street legal lol

  • Thats insane was it only proppeled by the jet engine? or did you use the motor too

    ?

  • that is friggin AWESOME!

  • Wow that's an amazing acomplishment!

  • hi could you give me some info on this beast i'm looking to build one and this is the only one i've actually seen move my email is pinkgorrilla @ hotmail. co. uk it would be great if you could get in touch cheers james

  • go to DIYGasTurbines yahoogroup

  • nice it would be cool to make and engine

  • can you explain how you made it?

  • Nice after burner I could see it puched your truck to a good dpeed.

  • leaf blower? jk

  • Nothing short of bad ass...

  • This is brilliant you can here the the wind up and the after burner being lit that's fantastic.

  • Bloody brilliant

  • fantastic!!!!!!!!!

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • not bad for a homemade engine.......cool!!!!!

  • Thank god we are free to experiment!!! You showed us all how it should be done!!! Way to go!

  • hey man where do u get the parts for the engine and all these?

  • Mad Max!!! Where's the screamin guy with the mohawk and the spikes?

  • I think you just broke the speed of slow, lol ;-) neat turbine, and great work! Pretty powerful!

  • it was going pretty fast though :O

    especially for a homemade engine

  • if it actually had any power it all it would have moved

  • I expected that thing to go into the air...but after all, it is a test!

  • ride the fucker ffs

  • Make that sucker go man what were you waiting for man?

  • now put some wings on it!

  • It made about 100 pounds of thrust. It also made unlimited fear and excitement. For some reason I'm drawn to do things that give me the feeling that I shouldn't be doing this. The first time I ran the afterburner on this engine I had a feeling that I haven't had since the day I broke the glass out of my moms aquarium. That was 40 years ago, the only difference was I didn't get my ass kicked this time. I'll have to post a video of that when I get a chance.

  • the guys up top sayin it only does 30mph, where the fuk does it say that..

  • just a 'fukin' guess. how fast would you say based on the way it looks?

  • come on man..show some respect. i don't see you building anything. this thing was going at least 30mph with home made parts and an "old pipe". that's pretty good stuff. show constructive criticism or quit yer bitchin

  • Doesn't look like it's got a great deal of thrust anyway, and it's homemade, so it probably is just an old pipe.

  • Maybe your engine looks and sounds totally different, because it's a totally different engine? Not all engines sound the same, ever. Wow, Aeronautical engineering. Maybe you should have got a major in pulling your head out your ass and applying a bit of logic before you make stupid statements. And as Krugtech has kindly intervened and further shat all over your retarded comments, I think we can safely say that you need to shut the fuck up and stop trying to be a smartass.

  • jefproductions, There's 2 videos here from me, if you think this is fake, then look at the other one, is that one fake too? it's the same kart, you can see the mount for the camera from this video. Me and my friends had a great time with this thing. Ever have a great time?

  • No engine steers you bloody invalid. That's the job of the chassis it's attached to. You know, wheels, steering wheel, those clever little inventions. And he mounts it on the engine because if he was to stick it facing forward, it would simply look like a cart going down a road with a jet engine sound effect added over the top, and then there'd be even more tossers like you running in screaming "ITS FAKE ITS FAKE."

This doesn't even apply to physics, it applies to common fucking sense.

  • OK, so its a jet & it works .. big deal .. U fkin A its a big deal, how many hours to build, research, plan ... I thought it ROCKS ! So all you lil punks, can kiss off. I mis the good old days when 99.9% of 'puter users were cool, good folks, not lil punks who thrive by dissin other peoples good, hard work !, Rem guys, its people like us that will save these lil pukes, they have nothing but mouths, we will all end up feeding. They can't build anything but thier own pathetic LITTLE egos.

  • My pie hoe is rusted solid, sorry.

My understanding of physics is sufficient as is my general judgement.

And for you to question any part of it from a view like that is frankly just pure determination to be a cunt.

  • Jefproductions, kindly take your bullshit elsewhere. Stupid cunts who deny some poor blokes hardwork and pass it off as fake really need to know what they're on about, or fuck off.

  • Did you watch the video...

  • Thanks for that I am working on hydrogen at the moment and I think I will have to stick with electrical as you say it burns too high, The noise of your jet when starting off is simply wonderful. The Bat-car has it's mechanic.

  • beautiful!

Is it possible to run a jet on hydrogen?

  • you can run a jet engine with propane/butane. but i *guess* that the burning temperature of hydrogen gets to high and the combustor and other parts begin to melt. it's like when you add oxygen... your engine transforms into an firework...

but i don't know, maybe possible...

  • it can run on anything flammable, someone even built one that runs on wood!

  • I did 70 at the drag strip. The funny think is it was pulling just as hard at the finish line as it was at the starting lline. If I had a mile or so it wouls be awesome

  • you did it on a skateboard didnt you?. btw nice i liked it

  • how fast does it go?

  • dragon

  • Thats a sweet freakin go kart. whats the fastest uve gotten it to? Seems like It still has alot more room

  • very nice!!! this gives me so many ideas ;-) i guess i'm gonna have to start scouring the salvage yards!!!

  • holy shit man you are fukcing awsome!!!how did you come up with the idea?...your my fucking idol

  • Why is it that the stupid people of the world tend to be the loudest? Ayn Rand was right. The smart and creative people (the maker of that engined is both) people of the world should snuff the dumbasses.

    That's real eugenics... "bitch".

Fortunately, preventing the stupid people from procreating is pretty simple, though illegal.

  • holy shit thats badass

  • a h ahaha great video man

  • that wasn't slow it was fast!!!!!!!!!!!

  • what a typical display of keyboard bravery. Check my other video, the thing is slow, but it's jet powered, it was built by me for about $300 and it was FUN. Cows are bad for the enviromnet, or any other asshole that spews too much gas for that matter.

To those who really understand and appreciate what I did here, thank you for your kind words. All you chicken shit 9 year old assholes just stay the fuck out/STFU or meet me somewhere where we can discuss our disagreements like men

  • People, if you're going to post stupid pointless comments at me at least learn how to spell. Ur a forking maron hippo bulshite I nvr learnt how to spel.

  • why does the engine sound like a vacuum cleaner?

  • Disect a vacuum cleaner motor, mechanically it's pretty similar to a Jet Engine, hence the similarity in noise.

  • That's good for the environment.

  • ...and your conception was?

  • Right, so we should nuke the whole fucking planet.

  • It does use a energy and for that matter causes some unbalance to the environment, but just by sitting there by your computer you are hurting the environment. So icecardinal's comment makes some sense. How much is will be bad for the environment depends most on his choice of fuel. No pain, no joy here...

  • Did you know that if a jumbo jet burns it's engines at full throttle for 1 hour, it uses almost as much oxygen as all the people breathing on earth do in that same hour? Look, I don't care you burn your jet or someone else will. Just don't deny that it's bad for the environment, because it is.

  • ur a fucking moron fuck what isent bad for the environment. so enuff with this hippie bull shit

  • Like I said stupid, do whatever the fuck you want. Bitch. I don't have kids so I couldn't care less if you destroy the planet. Burn plastic everyday if you want for all I care. In the meantime, gfy.

  • You made it!! Awesome!

  • CRAZY u had like fire seeping through cracks in the jet

  • very cool,how fast

  • that is the coolest thing ever!!

  • airplane about to go!

  • that was awesome, congrats :D

  • QUE ARRECHO!

  • I'm the "pilot" on this run. I wanted to go and go and go but I ran out of road very quickly. Was also being too cautious on the opening of the main throttle and afterburner fuel supply and used up all the AB fuel :-( It was a blast though!

  • I dream of being this nerdy someday. That's one of the coolest things I've seen in a long time.

  • I was expecting to see a parachute brake LOL
