But I think the Hassan family is more associated with Karachi, the place of Nazia's birth.

@ptramjoshi First of all Nazia Hassan and her family are Muslims, they dont have any hindu in their genes because they are Syyed. Hijab is not worn by any pop singer in the world and she is not drinking alcohol. How can you be so sure there is alcohol in this video. Secondly Gurmukhi script is only used by Sikhs because their holy Sikh book is written in that script. Punjabi Muslims, like Bulleh Shah, have been using the Shahmukhi script for centuries to write Punjabi poetry.

@margesplace For us Pakistani Punjabis religion matters a lot. Almost all of us Pakistani Punjabis are Muslims. Nazia Hassan was Muslim everyone knows this. She was from a very religious family background. Nazia and Zoheb had to ask permission to sing from their grandparents who were deeply religious. Nazia Hassan and her family are from Syyed Punjabi background. Syyeds claim to be from the same family of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
I heard Nazia Hassan used to pray 5 times a day.

Some are very religious, some are moderates, some are liberals. Not all Punjabi Pakistani Muslims are the same. Punjabi Pakistanis must be the most diverse ethnic group in Pakistan.
