Thanks for making this video available! It is easily the best I have seen on this topic. Your photography conveys a delightful sense of actually being there and your narration enhances the experience. Very well done !
Borobudur is probably the pinnacle of all the traveling I have done. Anticipated seeing it for years and it didn't let down at all, just amazing. Merapi smoking in the background and the mist rolling out in the dawn.. man! So cool.
I've also put my hand through the stupas and touched the Buddha's head, they said it supposed to bring luck :) the temple is extraordinary and being there gives you a sense of peacefullness. Great video, brings me back memories :)

very nice . thanks for posting. I just spend a few days in Sukothai thailand visiting that complex. Not as big or as grand as this or angkor wat, but it was a quiet day and due to the Bangkok airport problem in early december when I was there, there were very few people at the site. It was very quiet and peaceful and the weather was nice. Indonesia is on myshort list of places to visit next
Great video. Thank you for sharing this with us. Although I believe your explanation of the symbolic meaning of the platforms is not entirely acurate and the reliefs don't only show Javan life and scenes from the Buddha's life, but more importantly lessons in Buddhist concepts.
i was born in magelang bout 30 mnts drive from the temple this video brings back my childhood memories i will go back there with my leica n click click....try to be javanese sebastiao salgado heheheh...america is great but nohting likes home yo heard me!!!!
i went there when i was just 8 and it's an interesting experience, climbing all over the temple and trying to touch the statues inside the stupas.. haha..
there are lots of beautiful tourist destinations in indonesia other than bali, too bad they're not really that well-known yet..
been there back in 1997. it was a very interesting experience. very mystical...everyone should go there, my experience couldn't be described in words. one has to experience that 'nirvana'.
Architecture major- I'm surprised you guessed correctly! I'm glad you like my videos- mostly, I make them so my family and friends can see what experiences I have while studying abroad this summer. Also, it helps me remember details later, and live through the feelings all over again. Thanks for watching these!
Wow very interesting.. Actually I have been to Borobudur when I was little, but I didn't really study about the temple.wow..It makes me want to go there again.
You seem know a lot about the temple, are u a history/architecture major?
Thank you <3

I wonder what measure do they take to keep the reliefs safe from vandalism?
simitelchannel 8 months ago
@simitelchannel
in fact there was, so i was told, when i asked about the yellowish patches on the reliefs.
it looked quite different 20 years ago, really nasty.
i was told, that radical muslims tried to destroy the images with agressive fluids.
but this is just what i heard.
you should have had a look in the museum nearby, how it was build up after finding this precious place, after hundreds of years in "sleep".
amazing how they got it together again.
i love this place.

stupid thought, but how funny would it be if it was just like 5 guys that did this

@jazzpsalti
you surely could watch three guys restoring, and two guys trying to finish the basement.

Please watch my video
It's about earth shift. Earth shift: One huge continent became 2 continents, then 5 (or 6) and then?
Stunning, breathtaking, strong and deep images.
Thanks!
