i have a better explanation for a variable, variables in programming are similiar to math variables, you can use them like

x = 5;

x * y = r

etc, they hold memory, but in math, they are used as number identifier symbols somewhat. Other than that, great tutorial :)

The only thing you get from this is a dumb down dictionary explaination of what 'variable' means when variable is a commonly used word that keeps the same meaning in all applications. If you're not bothered to put effort into tutorials don't make them.
