  • Moving mountains by Two steps from hell! BOOYACKASHAA!

  • best dino doc. too bad it's pretty short for me. and didnt show some of my favourites like t-rex and giga

  • This looks 10x better than the last dinosaur special Discovery air'd. -_- That was such a disappointment for me, nothing like the older specials they used to air.

  • I cant find this anywhere here in the States!!!! Come on SHARE!!!!!

  • best dinosaur doco so far in my opinion

  • The song makes the trailer so epic

  • I'm Sorry guys. Dinosaur Planet > Every Dinosaur shit. Although i can't express how f*cking awsome it is they're making more dinosaur shows >:D

  • Dude play this with inception theme.

  • This was freakin amazing with the inception song :D

  • MrCoDUCKtor give an idea:

    1. pause the video at 0:02

    2.open a new tab

    3.search Zack Hamsey Mind Heist

    4.pause that video at 0:55

    5. play both videos at the same time

    6. O__O

  • Come from Zack Hemsey - Mind Heist :D

  • Thumbs up if you're here because you seen the top comment on the mind heist video.

  • @GoochDirty hehe

  • play this with Mind Heist

  • Whats the music for this trailer?

  • @MrBoBoTom Moving Mountains - Two Steps From Hell, I believe! ^_^

  • This is cool stuff. I hope the new PREHISTORIC CHANNEL one day produces stuff like this. GOOGLE PREHISTORIC CHANNEL.

  • Although I much prefer walking with dinosaurs, despite being outdated, I do like the facts and the way they show you fossil evidence. I certainly don't think that it's the best, but it's far better than those american monstrosities that I've seen

  • this is the best dinosaur documetarie of this generation with the most recent technology and evidence. the spinosaurus was my favorite episode.

  • @NikevsJordansxD really the last episode was too awesome!

  • I mean now not know lol fail xD

  • I know have the official DVD it's epic :{D I recommend it to all :)

  • @Vrahno

There you have it! How is this scientific in any way??? Its all based on conjecture, Superstition and logical fallacies. Seriously, two small bones found miles apart that cannot be accurately, chemically dated. Suddenly we have miami CSI style drama with MTV graphics. Ohh perleaasse! The problem was dumbing down liberal education some 60-70 years ago so that people can no longer think critically, unaware of scientific method, logical fallacy, etc. Anyway, its sooo ugly looking.

  • @permabullful And you say WWD's superior, even though it was based on even more conjecture and baseless fantasies, and on top of it didn't bother to give any evidence to support its wild claims (which is something PD indeed does, at times even gratuitously)? You're being a real hypocrite, there. And evaded giving me a straight answer.

    You're just trolling, admit it...

  • interesting creatures. But Walking With Dinosaurs is much better!!!! (I'm from the Netherlands)

  • This series is epic!!! Does anyone know what the music for this trailer is???

  • I first learned about Gigantoraptor and Hatzegopteryx through this show :)

  • @d3kNnk2a

No way! WWD may be from the 90's but it is far superior. So is the recent discovery one. Here is the issue ; BBC have always produced fantastic production and help nurture uknown talent to rise. The big fear, with all the budget cutting now, is whether 'planet dinosaur' is the future. Cheap, nasty, ng to brain ugly video game production, dumbing people down with 'MTV' style.

Shame on you BBC, you have fallen! And there is just something weird about these dinos, very southpark! Ugly!

  • @permabullful How the heck is this dumbing people down? If anything, it's the most intelligent and scientific dino-docu that has been produced in recent years.

  • Ok wwd lovers shut up! Walking with dinosaurs is just a old boring documentary that has like hundred incorrect facts! And this is truly the new world of dinosaurs this is how they move, this is how they act, and this is the way they lived. So deal with the fact that walking with dinosaurs is the best anymore! Come on people stop being so 90s!!!!!!

  • cool trailer

  • Walking with Dinosaurs was always my favorite documentary, but when I saw Jurassic Park I got sad that there was no Spinosaurus (lol). I think this one may top it as my fav!

  • I did think the way they showed continental shift in this was excellent. And they created the post-impact atmosphere perfectly In the finale.

  • I wish dinosaurs would live amongst us. I always looked at boom lifts and cranes as a kid and pretend they were an Brontosaurus or an Appatasaurus.

  • @hotgirlsarehot Well technically Brontosaurus and Apatosaurus are the same, lol.

  • I love dinsours, in the words of qui gon gin- there is always a bigger fish

  • Two steps from hell moving mountains [back ground music]

  • well, its not the low quality graphics that deflates. I had alot of hope for it. WWD was a great production and an interesting story but just could have done a bit more with the science. This is where BBC excels, particularly science docs on BBC4. Dumbed down telly noise, pandering to MTV-Celebrity-idols culture if the typical viewer can put down their Xbox long enough to absorb the 5 second attention span. Vodoo science, None of the serious evolutionary issues covered. Just gameboy action.

  • it costs a lot of computer time to create life like creatures. r u watching Spielberg's Terra Nova ?

  • i've really enjoyed this series, it's interesting. hopefully there's another season

  • yah, this is truly dreadful stuff. I mean, in terms of WWD is 12 years old and jurassic park 20+ years old from production start. The dinos look weird and ambient, like they are surrounded by flourescent bulbs in many parts, the backgrounds look like southpark cutouts, infact alot of dino fights and interaction look like cutouts mashed together. Considering you see school film projects that look much better, you have to assume there was zero budget with the 'C' team in action. Too distracting.

  • @permabullful Must. Not . Feed. Them....

  • Does anybody know what the name of the music used in this advert is?

  • @emj093 the song is called two steps from hell moving mountains

  • Thank you!

  • @emj093 your welcome! I already used the song in one of my videos

  • I have to agree. Walking with Dinosaurs was better in terms of graphics. But I'm very much interested with this new documentary because it still looks fantastic, and I can presume that the info featured in it is updated and well researched.

  • Ok why is everyone saying walking with dinosaurs is better! i mean really walking with dinosaurs is good but never shows a great view of a hunt or anything! while planet dinosaur goes to the evdence with awesome graphics and fights! And also walking with dinosaurs has so many incorrect facts while planet dinosaur does the newest stuff!

WHO EVER SAYS WALKING WITH DINOSAUR IS BETTER THEN THIS SUCKS FOR LIFE IN TASTE!!!!!!!!

  • @lifeform106 the movement of the dinosaurs in planet dinosaur is awful, it has great 3D models, but WWD had mutch better sound effects and movement, it had real background, PD sometimes has no sound effects, the narration with the newly discovered facts is great... both of them has their weaknesses and strengths, but for entertainment I find WWD mutch better, PD is really good until the dinosaurs take a move... but that's just my opinion

  • @AkosGellert ok dude it is way better to do geographic landscapes then real ones cause they can make the dinosaurs do limit amount of stuff in real ones and could not do great dinosaur battles in real locations and some locations in the dinosaur age could not be recreated. and movement is not awful cause in walking with dinosaurs they made the dinosaurs too slow, never made a good shot of a fight(as in the angle of the fight suck), and they did have great geographic dinosaurs they look real!

  • @AkosGellert totally agree with you there.

  • shifting mountains

  • nice two steps from hell

  • this is soooo good

  • go on bbciplayer

  • where can i watch these online? i've only seen the first episode :(

  • The CGI is impressive, especially that the environments are all complety CG too, the detail and texture on the skins are amazing. Unfortunatly the animation itself is a bit too robotic and stiff, thus making Walking With Dinosaurs more fluid animation much better. But who cares? You can never have too many dinosaur documentaries, and Planet Dinosaur is one of the best ever.

  • @somethinglacking1 Now if only it was more readily available in the U.S. :P

  • @somethinglacking1 And also dude when you american dinosaur documentaries you would see that wwd and planet dinosaur are better

  • @somethinglacking1 Yes walking with dinosaurs felt more real, but this is still impressive

  • I don't understand why some people are stating that Walking with Dinosaurs looks better...?

The GCI quality of the dinosaurs shown in this trailer trumps any Dinosaur shown in the "Walking With" series. I think it has to deal with the backgrounds being CGI this time more so than anything else. If the backgrounds were real locations, and if the lighting wasn't so dramatic, then Planet Dinosaur would outdo WWD, bar-none.

  • This is the music Birmingham City FC walk out to ;)

  • what is the name of this music???

  • @san18ful two steps from hell shifting mountains

  • why does a british accent make everything sound so interesting !!!!!!

  • Infact the music is: Two Steps from Hell by Moving Mountains

  • Comment removed

  • 3 people had their childhood deprived of Jurassic Park

  • @steviekakit come on,not to be rube or anything but the Jurassic Park and Walking with Dinosaurs look more real then this and it had a story. But Planet Dinosaur tell you just facts then stories

  • Comment removed

  • @steviekakit what?

  • Whats the music in the trailer ?

  • @VsN3m

it's called "moving mountains" and began to "Two steps from hell".

I was serching for since trailer launch :D

  • @VsN3m And sorry for my bad use of "began", i was a little impressed and forget my english :P

  • It's good to see the BBC getting back into Dinosaur documentaries. Walking with Dinosaurs was one of the cornerstones of my childhood TV.

Having seen a few episodes, I have to say it's impressive. The narration by john Hurt is nice to listen to and the information regarding newly discovered dinosaurs is fascinating to watch.

However I have one downside and that's the CGI. I heard it was made on a third of the budget for Walking With, and unfortunately, it shows.

    Small complaint though.

  • Does anyone know the cast for episodes 4, 5 and 6 i know there is Argentinosaurus but what else?

  • @TriassicEvolution - Well the trailer already shows you some. For instance a Plesiosaurus, Torosaurus, Stegosaurus, Tyrannosaurus Rex, Pterosaur (not a dinosaur by the way) and what appears to be a Diplodocus.

  • @ThaWebmen no there is no T-rex it's Daspeltosaurus i know that, and it looks like a Pachyrhinosaurus or Centrosaurus not Torosaurus...

  • Dinosaur Revolution > Planet Dinosaur

  • WHY DOSEN'T BBC LET ME IN THEIR CHANNEL?

  • yes bbc makes a dinosaur documentary! i love there shows and would always beat discovery and unlike discovery they don't make the dinosaurs not human like. thumps up for bbc!

  • If you want action go watch Jurassic park, this is the closest thing to a REAL documentary on dinosaurs we ever had. The CG model for the dinosaurs are wonderful, though the backgrounds look really cheap, but if you have time to pay attention to that than probably you are not paying attention to what the narrator is saying. WWD was good, but had the same flaw of all those who followed: they were as scientific as flying pigs. When I heard the narrator say "could have been" I was overjoyed!

  • BLARGA BLARG, ALL THEY DID WAS FIGHT, BLURG

  • OMG WERE DO I WHEN DOES THIS COMEON!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @1215beastman all ready has

  • He said Diplodocus wrong....

  • Every time this was on the TV i kept saying "look it's moving mountains!"

  • COMO ESPERO CON LA MÁS ANSIA PODER VER EL DOCUMENTAL EN LATINOAMÉRICA, GRACIAS BBC POR SU OBRA MAESTRA!!!

  • my god! a "sequel" to walking with dinosaurs? I hope its good. To this day walking with dinosaurs surpasses anything discovery or nat geo has EVER made on dinosaurs.

  • @ColdSideOfPillow136 it not a sequel to walking with dinosaurs

  • This has'nt got shit on Walking with dinosaurs

  • If anyone thinks this is good, just look up some Walking with Dinosaurs clips. That program blew everyone away with its outstanding CGI for its time AND for immersing its CGI dinos in real world environments. 12 Years on and we have total CGI with environments that look rubbish, and leaves a lot to be desired compared to the standard of today. Also, who was it aimed at? I was a kid for the WWD and remember really enjoying it. The first episiode of PD was dry as anything with hardly any action.

  • Amazing! Too bad i missed it on wednesday and it's repeat on sunday.

  • @Danielcreeper Its on iplayer dude!

  • The soundtrack of this trailer is EPIC! Does anybody happen to know the name of it? Spinosaurus and Sarcosuchus are the reptillian Kings!

  • Can't wait to see this, I enjoyed walking with dinosaurs as a child

  • @pinkygirl1999 how old r u!!!!!!!!!! LOL

  • @pinkygirl1999 omg me too i loved walking with dinosaurs! :O

  • Considering this is the BBC I'm dissapointed. This doesn't come close to WWD, or any of the thousands of american TV programs that have been made since. Its just another CGI half hour filler. The lack of real landscape and water didn't help. WWD used both these elements and puppets to create realistic footage. As for the Spinosaurus fight , it was laughable. And when are people going to stop bleating on about Spinosaurus? When they find a decent fossil I hope.

  • @TheArtdecovampire This isn´t supposed to just tell entertaining dinosaur stories like WWD did, but to actually inform you about the dinosaurs (e. g. showing the actual fossil evidence behind their depictions) and in this way they succeeded. For example I didn´t know about the giant prehistoric sawfish that Spinosaurus hunted.

  • @RickRaptor105 Evidence? Really? Because as a Palaeontologist of many years looking at thousands of fossils I have yet to see a complete spino skull, especially with a crest on it as portrayed. WWD stood out as far as I'm concerned because of its restrained realism for the most part. This was sensationalist rubbish with tons of specualtion, more so than WWD. Palaeontology is done through study of papers and fossils not with a CGI programme and an enthusiastic illustrator.

  • @TheArtdecovampire

How is this any more sensationalist and speculative than WWD was? This show at least presents evidence, the narrator uses terms like "could have been" or "maybe this dino did X because of Y",whereas WWD barely mentioned *any* evidence for its theories, which it also presented as undeniable facts. And if it's criminally oversized Liopleurodon wasn't sensationalist, then I don't know what it was...

  • @Vrahno

Oversizing Lipleorodon is one thing itas like catching a sprat and saying its a mackerel. This week Megaraptors wings, dance and very speculative head is another. I'm not sure that its officially described yet. Scaling up a Hyrax doesn't give you an Elephant. Comparative anatomy is useful not 100%. What we already know for (98%) sure is sensationalist enough. Read 'Dinosaur Odyssey: Fossil threads in the web of life.' By Scott D Sampson that would make a great documentary.

  • Hey folks, you need to remember that the guys who do this stuff for TV don't have anywhere near the same time or budget that the guys on Jurassic Park had to develop their stuff. Don't knock it. If you had a clue about how much work this takes, you'd realise that what they've done is a fantastic achievement.

  • It's been 18 years since the 1st Jurassic Park movie was released and today's CG animators can't pull out a better animation than ILM did back then. Awkward.

  • I was a bit underwhelmed by the first episode -- the show is so far far less epic than this preview made it out to be. There was too little story to be told. And what's with the shaky cam and stop-motion-like movements? I thought the footage was just sped-up for the TV ads, turns out it's actually like that in the series.

  • Honestly the animation looks pretty crap :-/

  • @thepdw I know,Nowhere as good Walking With Dinosaurs.but it least its a another dinosaur documentary from BBC.

  • The UK always get the better things.

  • @FulllOfThoughts But they are always a quarter as long.

  • @lamnaa I'm sorry, I don't really know what you mean.

  • @FulllOfThoughts British TV series tend to be very short compared to American ones. 12 shows is pretty long over here.

  • Yeah man was good I enjoyed it!

  • @JamesHodge94 what happened on it? i didn't see it. : (

  • @SenjiroAkechi It's available to watch online on BBC iPlayer if you missed out. It's definately worth watching, the level of detail surrounding dinosaur behaviour is so fascinating, everything that they do do is dissected in detail regarding fossil evidence and forensics. Not quite as grand and epic as Walking with Dinosaurs but the intimacy with which it explores these animals makes up for it somewhat.

  • @BigSal51 unfortunately their iplayer cannot be used outside of the uk.

  • @SenjiroAkechi Mostly about the spinosaurus!

  • CANT WAIT!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!!!!! 1 HOUR LEFT!!!

  • Omg it starts 2day!!!

  • THIS LOOKS FUCKING COOL

  • Comment removed

  • BBC always beat Discovery channel

  • @hitterbrehm u're right.. this looks better than the american dinosaur Revolution

however i still find the old walking with more realistic because of its real life model while these new series are all CGI based..

  • @hitterbrehm BBC beats everyone.

  • @ProjectLonely personally - i like the animation and graphics quality better on the Discovery's Dinosaur Evolution, and of course - Jurassic Park :D but of course if we only count the documentaries - then for me it's Discovery, BBC also get it nice in terms of looks, but somehow some big dinos dont make an actual impression of being heavy in these series, in WWD it was acceptable, but in this one it was worse, but dont get me wrong - I still love it and the plot seems amazing!

  • SPINOSAURUS !

  • @hippotoast. Don't really know exactly what your agenda is, but my guess is that you're somehow a wannabe VFX of CG artist and you throw your negative opinions on the subject round without really knowing what you're talking about. How you can judge a series on a 1 min trailer I don't know. There is a huge appetite for Dinosaur materilal and the vast majority of people want this. The BBC are really stretching themselves to fulfill this need, even at a third of WWD budget. It looks great!

  • what a brilliant soundtrack!

  • 0:09 PAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!

  • I have a pic of spino . In the series spino is yellow and black

  • The first episode is about spinosaurus and carcharodontosaurus

  • Wooow... Coool...

  • Creating this show entirely from GCI was always going to be a punt. Maybe the effects aren't as realistic as 'Walking with...', maybe it won't be nearly as successful. I'm still going to watch every episode and probably love it! :D

  • @irusty26i I think the effects are going to be great personally. I looked on the creators website "jellyfish" and I thought their show reel was sick. The only thing that perhaps wont look as good is the environments, coz walking with dinos was shot entirely in real life, this is entirely in cg. But I will still watch every episode like you :D (Plus I heard that there is a walking with dinos film coming out next year wooo!)

  • I can bet at some point there's going to be a dinosaur named The Murdersaurus or Bossinator or the Badassadronixadonalogosaurix.

  • Damn you brits! You always get so many awesome dinosaur shows. Terra Nova is gonna be airing soon which I cannot wait to see, but the show isn't exactly about the dinosaurs. Looking for ward to seeing this in the States!

  • Two Steps From Hell. Simply brilliant music.

  • I was watching BBC last night and completely ambushed when this came on TV the other day I yelled uncontrollably, I couldn't even use words to describe how awsome this was.

A piece of my childhood (WWD etc) is being turned into a cinematic epic of undiscovered Alpha As Fuck dinobosses, once again turning a subject considered boring into a Paragon of Epicosity. Even with budget cuts the BBC still dominates the genre lol i'm done, Ninja out.

  • Yes Finally, it loos like a fight with a Ceratopsian that isnt Triceratops or Protoceratops....

  • Wow, this makes Dino Revolution look like a pile of dino shit, lol.

  • They should step on it and upload the other videos from the BBC site too, as those are unavailable to view where I live. And I need my Planet Dinosaur fill.

  • Does anyone know what the music is?

  • @Aggsta1 "Moving Mountains" by Two Steps From Hell.

  • So the bbc claim that they dont have any money to save formula 1 but they spend (probably) millions on cgi for this program!!!!!! I have to admit the program looks good but the bbc have to sort out the programs they have already instead of making new (and expensive) ones.

  • Wow, the BBC is not pushing very impressive CG. I should of worked on it, i'm almost on a par with it.

  • @derkoi 'Not very impressive' CGI? You're 'Almost on par'? Why don't you take a look at this month's 3d world feature, and check out the Planet Dinosaur Unoffical Trailer from Jellyfish Pictures and reappraise that statement, old boy...

  • @5Magenta Still not overly impressed. Old boy.

  • @derkoi You clearly have no idea how the real world of production operates. Compared to most hollywood film, this show was made on a quarter of the budget and resources, and yet still had to produce 2 and a half hours of full cgi animation. Jellyfish should be commended for such a mammoth task. If your so confident perhaps try working in the industry yourself? :)

  • @EmDee3d I'm not taking anything away from Jellyfish. I don't know the ins & outs of this production, however I was expecting something more impressive. I'm just one guy self taught, these guys are professionals. Whilst I don't work in the industry exactly, i do visual fx and film making for a living.

  • is this coming out on dvd?

  • how long do i have to wait for this?

  • @alexhowardable 14th of this month :D

  • What's the music to this called?

  • @Kelismoviesmoothie It's called Moving Mountains by Two Steps from Hell, though I'd look up the one with no choir for the one used here.

  • I like this

  • spinosaurus vs carcharodontosaurus! Looks like the Monsters resurrected!

  • Looks good, though not as much as Walking with Dinosaurs. Not saying the effects aren't good (the dinos themselves look AMAZING!!!), it's just that Walking with... had real backgrounds as opposed to computer-generated ones, and I think that's why it looked more realistic.

Anyone know when this is coming on?

  • very nice. Now how about some home truths, like whats the big rock stuck in the earths orbit at the moment, not worthy enougth news story eh! right yeah ok lol. an you call yourselfs journalist what a joke

  • SO MANY DINO PROGRAMS!!!! I DECLARE THIS MONTH DINOSAUR MONTH!!!!!!!!! thumbs up if you agree?

  • Moving Mountains should've been in a Doctor Who trailer.

  • this looks amazing sooo excited :) :)
