  • ESAS ERAN VERDADERAS CANCIONES

  • @margotcitaaaaaaaa ........ESTOS ERAN GRAMMYS, NO LA BASURA QUE SACAN AHORA....ESTOS ERAS ARTISTAS....DE MUSICA EXCELENTE....

  • Such great artist ,good times and fabulous music !!!!! :) love it

  • I can not believe I am saying that I miss those days. The 70's were boring and disco sucked but music is much worse now. I miss the quaaludes and the microdot too. Hey I am not going to give in to being politically correct. "F" that noise

  • As a kid of the 80's and having caught a part of the 70's, I can say that today as a grown man, I'm jealous of all the technology the kids get today, but I think the kids are jealous of the quality of the music we adults had growing up. It was SO much better than the crap on the radio today. No class, false pride, fake image, etc. The artists from my childhood were vulnerable, humble and talented. They had to stand on what they created.

  • The end of music was like 4 years ago when the song "it's hard out here for a pimp" was nominated for something like best song for a movie soundtrack. I was so embarrassed for my country that we would put THAT up as the "best" of ANYTHING. I knew music died in the mainstream at that moment.

  • what a loss....such a sweet man

  • those were the goold 'ole days.

  • - the Bee Gees

    - Who?

    xD

  • Donna Summer..or is it Rick James?????? btw love both!!!! she really looks like him in this video..

  • The Bee Gees if you see them somewhere and they start to sing - a light starts shining and you get goose bumps and tingles and I get are memorized. They were gifted. They go farther back than Saturday Night Fever but in mid-70's they ruled the radio.

  • What a line up . Yep - that's how it was in those days. And we can thank the radio that played all the artists of the time on one or two stations. then they went to have specialty stations with only 1 genre and then the ipod and ear plugs eliminated the spark of creativity - who can hear what someone else is listening to - how do you know what to add to the sound of the day? I t's a conspiracy I tell ya. How can you know music if you don't hear it?

  • those are awesome artists like woah!

  • Andy is sooo cute!! i missed him. =(

  • john denver rocked hes the man of my day

  • evidentemente que Bee Gees son los mejores... Forever!!!

  • Fabulous music, wasn't Barry so spunky back then WOW, Neil Diamond wasn't hard on the eyes either. Oh the rantings of an old girl, those were the days!!!!

  • GREAT TIME ! GREAT SINGERS ! GREAT MUSIC !

  • From the looks of the people in the audience during the songs, people were actually interested in the acts then. Nowadays, they have to pay people to stand in the "pits" during a performance to make sure it looks like people like the crap they are hearing.

  • The 70s were fun and the music was great. I slept outside all night to get tickets to see the Bee Gees in 1978 - the height of the white suit hysteria. Seeing them in the front row was pretty crazy! (P.S. I miss Gerry Rafferty and fight that good fight Robin Gibb!)

  • @greenboxhomes You are happie than we are, we only see them on TV or video. But we love them very much. they are a great legend.

  • The Beegees,Forever in my heart!!!

  • man the 70s must have been fun as shit, everyone looks high, and that one guy has glitter on his suit

  • EVEN NOW STAYING ALIVE IS ON THE PEOPLE`S IMAGINARY. EVERYBODY KNOWS IT.

  • Bee Gees definitely should have won over Billy Joel... but they got redemption with album of the year! Thanks for posting and sharing this treasure. Loved seeing Andy throughout the clip and during the presenting. and of course watching the Bee Gees accept their grammy. This was a time when the music and these shows were worth watching! Now a days, it is mostly trash and a waste of time (inmyopinion!) Loving the Bees Gees and Andy Gibb forever!

  • I was not born here yet.

  • the 54 years Right here

  • barry is hot in any decade god holy shit

  • fuck fuck shit shit bee gees won this what the hell

  • glad i was born in 63.Saw all these on tv

  • jeez, all the freakin' nominees were outstanding and i have the songs on my ipod. hahahaha

  • Man, such amazing songs that compete with each other...how do you choose... the music stars of today just cannot write music like that anymore.

  • incredible, that was real music,

we're still listening all those songs.

Do you even remember the songs of recent Grammys????

  • Magnificent

  • This is freakin awesome. I'd much rather watch an old grammy's show over a recent one any day. I probably haven't watched one since the early eighties. Thanks for posting

P.S. I thought "Staying Alive" should have one. I think it's proven to be the bigger hit over the years.

  • "Funky See Funky Do will be right back to lip sync their latest hit."

  • "They ain't heavy...they're my brothers..." LOL Andy!

  • that sure was some good ole music back then. better then anything that is playing now and the bee gees are better the billy joel.

  • Christ all mighty, the tunes were soooo good back then, and such utter shite today.

  • Incredible clip. So many wonderful performers that have either passed or faded away....and became legends...the standard to which all aspire to be, but fail to recognize.

  • from 1979 to now Best album of the year Justin Beaver Justin Beaver Producer ...... What happened to us?

  • that grammy ceremony was really made from the best gold!

  • OMG !!! I cant believe this crap . that Billy Joel ((who I cant stand grrr)))won the grammy over The Bee gees ..Not Fair !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Saturday Night Fever is the greatest dance record of all time!!

  • Golden Age!!!

  • Just the way you are...es un himno a la mujer...gran canción

  • they don't announce the whole people now. This is soo cool :) a very young neil Diamond and to see Andy jammin ' !! Too cool :)

  • they don't announce the whole people now. This is soo cool :)

  • Every song and nominee back then was brilliant, not the crapola we listen today.

  • they had 20 people or so go up there to receive the award, and yet kept the speach to under 30 seconds. Now they are all over 3 minutes long, and they even thank the crack dealers, the doctor that delivered them, the guy at the pretzel stand, etc, etc.

  • @joeluis98

Hilarious comment, but so true! LOL

  • These were the days when music had meaning and heart and you could understand the words. lol I remember watching this, these artist were so amazing I so love listening to the 70's and 80's music. Guess I still live in the past in allot of ways, but those days were truly a great music era. Thanks for sharing the memories. Michelle

  • I remember this time. It was great. The album 'Saturday Night Fever' is GREAT too

  • A taste of Honey; with Andy Gibb, wanna be there so bad

  • All very fine songs, but. Staying Alive has really stood the test of time. It was the best.

  • exelente.....

  • I ♥♥♥Andy Gibb!

  • I so love seeing and watching Andy Gibb he was so adorable and sweet. This was the time of class and the time of being a true professional. So sad also that John Denver is no longer here.

  • Oh God, What Happened to America?

  • The Bee Gees are just so orginal and so brilliant, wonderful music.

  • Gorgeous Barry, beautiful Maurice, adorable Robin and sweet Andy - I'm so envious of anyone who got to see them perform live. There just isn't anything like this today. Mo and Andy may be gone from our world but are forever in our hearts. I wish Barry, Robin, Leslie, Barbara and the rest of the Gibb family all the best. Thank you for sharing.

  • My God !!! What a night !! I wish I could be there !!!!!!!!!!! Today everything is empty without the feeling threse stars used to do music they DID Had Passion!!!!

  • What happenned to our new stars, what we have today is just decadence.

  • Andy just a real cutie here and so full of life!!

  • How fantastic is this, Andy & Bee Gees together on Grammy Awards. And all the songs i loved then. 1979 a great year, so long ago...

  • BJ > BG ? 1979 was a seriously screwed up year... The BJ himself wasn't even in attendance!

  • Love the way Andy says "Bee Gee's!" when naming the nominees... so proud of his brothers!

  • Every one of these winner & runner up songs blow every single piece of 2010 music out of the water.

p.s. Neil Diamond was beyond nervous, I think he peed himself.

  • When the Grammy's were class, just shows how far society has slipped.

  • Tough competition! Stayin Alive should have won, but Saturday Night Fever album DID. Billy Who? I was shocked I knew every song nominated. My old brain isn't so foggy after all. Now I feel like dancing, dancing, dancing the night away. Thanks so much for posting this.

  • this is not 79

  • jaja, tenian tanto cabello aún ...

  • i think in terms of those 2 songs the bee gees shouldve won

  • What an awesome year for music!!!

  • the bee gees ruled and should have won

  • man all those great songs to choose from? one single then would have buried all the competition today!

  • @salamonetalton Agreed 100% this music was just pure class.

  • ..what a lineup for LP of the year... TAKE ME BACK !!!!!

  • man they need to re think this decision stayin alve lost to one of billy joels songs i dont think so bee gees over billy Joel any time.

  • andy looked PHENOMENAL!!!

  • damn andy gibb is HOT!

  • @LukeShoveller I was not just talking about Andy, and I mean, I cannot compare him to todays stars at all, he WAS an angel in comparison to Liam bloody Gallagher!!, John Denver was a nice guy, and he didn't do drugs, if that is what you are referring to as regards being ''well behaved'', jeez let Andy rest in peace! Some people!!

  • Andy Gibb and John Denver, two beautiful musicians taken far too soon.....Andy looked like an Angel........the stars back then were real and heartfelt...what happened to humanity? It sure aint like this now.....I wanna cry sometimes seeing the way people behave now.....

  • @SweetSesatia

I have no issue with many current stars being lambasted, but Andy was hardly well 'behaved' in his career in comparison either, the world of celebrity hasn't changed much, there are simply more media forms that allow you to be aware about what is happening. It's very little to do with an alteration in humanity.

  • @LukeShoveller Loved Andy!! Yeah he made a lot of bad choices, after all he was what 18-20 when he got thrown ito the music world. Lots of pressure for any age however, it seems before his death he was starting to get straightened out. Andy brought us wonderful music and acting and for that I am eternally grateful to him. RIP Andy! Also the Bee Gees ROCKED as well!

  • So I guess there was a difference between "best record of the year" and "best album of the year"?????

  • Well an album was on several records and a single was on one, hence the lack of a plural denoting 'best single'.

  • I think Anne Murray should have had it..

  • thanks for posting. keep up the good work. And i nevervseen this before

  • beegees should have won..

  • Billy Joel over the Bee Gees?? You must be kidding!!!!!! PLEAZZZZE. Love ya Barry!

  • I agree with you. Maybe not being there at the time meant I just can't get what those people were thinking.

  • @eptamab Honestly, Bill Joel didn't even compare to the talented Bee Gees!! I liked Billy Joel, but in my opinion, he should not have won over the Bee Gees!! They are and were AWESOME!!!

  • @eptamab I agree but Billy Joel is no slouch

  • Just as Andy Gibb , John Denver died way to soon.

    rest in peace

  • How did John Denver die? Was it in some kind of airplane accident?

  • he drowned in a plane wreck

  • @grasspa who?

  • Only one thing

Just the Best of the Best

  • This was the year before I was born. Dayum. Wish I could've watched.

  • I don't watch the Grammy's (or any other awards shows) anymore because celebrities have become such punks. Kanye West is a perfect example.

  • omg ! was that barry manilow =))) in the crowd

  • They're just not as talented anymore either. People that can't sing use "auto-tune."

  • RIP Andy and Maurice.

  • OMG THE GOOD OLD DAYS...all toghether!

  • we have tvland channel it would great to see these shows all over again bring them back from that era watch them all over again i think most people would watch and the rateing would be bigger than ever!!!

  • @2Catangel you aint the only one.... I live in the past moreso than I should... I agree with you .

  • Donna Summer! John Denver Andy Gib!!

  • OMG!! i remember this! i was only 9 years old...but i remember this like it was yesterday! I loved music and my mother would always let me watch the grammys and the oscars with her...Andy Gibb and the Bee Gees were all over my walls even at 9 years old..along with Paul McCartney and Wings, David Cassidy, John Travolta, Peter Frampton, Abba, and Leif Garret hahaha..memories man..memories! thanks for posting this!

  • I love this video very much. I found Andy so lovely. Thanks for posting.
