She was SO mad at me omg I was like bitch it wasnt attacking u! it was lookin for food! This is such a good song. I'd never heard it until I watched the Southern Belles performing (brilliantly) to it, also on You Tube. Good to listen to it here, because it's slower and I can hear all the words.

I know there is a follow-up to "We The People" CD's called something like "The Spirit of '76" and a Encyclopedia of Comedy Songs, that he has been keeping very busy. Mr. Stevens has many video's and DVD's to choose from that you may obtain from Ray Stevens Music where his office is located in Nashville, Tennessee. He has items that children would enjoy such as cartoons of some of his greatest songs as well.

His most recent song is entitled, "Nightmare Before Christmas" featured along in the form of a DVD when his other two Christmas CD's are purchased.

He is still the Greatest performer I have ever had the pleasure of watching.

nope. he's pissed because its a ****in' dumb song and he's wasting his career backing up Ray Stevens. Ray is not off the the beat unless "on the beat" means being an inhuman robot. Ray's delivery of the lyrics is totally natural and he's purposefully avoiding being rigid because he wants the words to stand out, it isn't like he was singing a clear melody in the verses. Sheesh.

Love Ray and especially love this song.

I once took my squirrel to my Episcopal School, opened his box to show him to my friends after Morning Song, and he jumped out of the box, ran through the sanctuary and up to the altar before I finally caught up with him. I was genuflecting all over the place, while the squirrel was not. Gave him a time advantage over me.

@ian1358 My Presbyterian minister in Atlanta moved back to his hometown of Pascagoula to finish out his career. Great man who I love to this day. He would have appreciated a squirrel in his church.
