  • RAY BARONE FTW

  • HE- a really nice clean...

(while you think- distortion distortion DISTORTION!!!!)

  • i really wish guys would play more power chords and less solos on these vids because almost every amp sounds decent soloing.

  • that has got to be the best job

  • So this or a vox ad50vt? Im leaning towards the vox

  • @earthwormjimrules Depends.. and isn't the vox a solid-state? Anyway, for pretty much all rock and metal, and passable cleans, go Valveking, for much better cleans, like blues, and jazz, etc, and rock, go Vox.

  • Thumbs up if you think that shredding is not a good way to demonstrate an amp.

  • @BandaSpooness Jealous coz u lack skill?

  • So, if I got this amp, would it be able to do bedroom playing as well as keep up with my buddy who has a half stack without getting drowned out?

  • I don't like it :/

  • @TheHearthOfDark why don't you like it?

  • @JamaJet19 GThe gain sounds too crunchy on full

  • Can you get a good tone at bedroom volumes?

  • Is there any difference between the 112 and the 212 besides the extra speaker?

  • @tenhundredkills extra headroom

  • "So you get a really nice gritty, rhythm tone ..." SOLO!

  • Can anyone tell me if this Amp is good for Punk??

  • @BigB444301 What's not good for punk?

  • Guys i really need some help! i'm mostly playing metal . I'm looking for an amp thats full of distortion and tone in a budget 200$-500$ max ! i was thinking of choosing between the 112 version of this one and and a peavey vypyr 75....can anyone tell me which one is better or if i should get another amp ? (looking for a great tube distortion amp(Not modelling but i've seen the vypyr one is pretty good sounding)) PLease HELP! THX

  • @BMXshark Whatever you do DON'T GET THE VYPYR!!!! I bought it and I definitely regret every minute of it. Go Valveking over Vypyr.

  • can you tab the solo that your playing from 6:02 to 6:11 and send it to me?

  • Hey, What would be better for classic rock, and hard rock(not metal). The 6505 112 or the peavey valveking 212???

  • verkaufe meinen Peavey Vollröhren Amp! Schaut mal rein:

    ht tp://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230584301308&ssPageName=STRK%3AMESELX%3AIT

  • I've got this amp and it's too fuckin' loud!

  • Does somebody know if the 212 come with headphone input??

  • @Koen17878 No. It does not.

  • @Koen17878 haha cause you'll need it

  • Is it normal that I have a lot of feedback when the gain boost is on? After I stop playing the amps screams. If I turn down the guitar volume it stops but if I don't the amps screams, if I turn of the gain boost is doesn't

  • @ChaserHUN yeah, youre just getting feedback, that happens with any amp at a high gain, just get a noise compressor and run it between the guitar and the amp and thatll fix it

  • @ChaserHUN Probably your pickups not your amp. Or you're standing too close to the amp.

  • Really is a good sounding amp.

  • lol "by the way this is the only jazz riff i no" xD

  • helpful vid thanks. way to cover a lot of range

  • Does it equipped with footswitch?

  • his nose took my attention...

  • I heard that Peavey Valvekings are really good if you want to mic the guitar amp. Is that true?

  • errr play metal

  • @alvarg

if 5:30+ isn't metal, IDK what is.

  • @ anyone doubting between this amp and any other: just buy this one

I just got it yesterday, it's f***ing awesome

  • @MrRandymaniac

I'd deffinitly go for the valveking 212. it sounds great, the distortion is just fucking awesome, you can play any kind of music with it, blues, funk, death metal, whatever you want. those line 6 spiders things might look nice, with all those fancy effects and moddeling shit, but at the end, you just need a good sounding clean and distortion, I'd deffinitly take the valveking. and btw, don't buy a 112, the extra speaker might cost an extra hondred euro's but it's worth it,

  • I guess nobody loves Raymonds guitar playing.

  • i miss this amp i had one had to sell it times were tough but its an amp i will be buying back

  • ive got a the head and two cabs, not a huge fan on the amp its self but im running it through a pod x3 live and its that powerful you balls vibrate when you stand infront of it

  • I've just got one, amazing tone and features for the price!

  • so i have been playing for about 2 years with my roland cube x30 and js30rr guitar and now i need new guitar and amp. so im buying the jackson dk2s guitar and the amp is still a proplem. so the money to be used is around 300-600 euros and i have two options so far and they are: peavey valveking 212 and line 6 spider iv so wich is better? i play thrash/death metal in a band so the amp should be able to play with a band. but if you know some better amp than these then please tell me thanks already

  • @MrRandymaniac Get a peavey vyper tube

  • @MrRandymaniac You should check out the peavey 6505 combo, i dont have one i have a valveking 212 but i regret not getting the 6505, it has much better tone and grunt for metal.

  • @MrRandymaniac

DONT get a line 6 spider iv, they are shit!!!!! i got a VK 212 amp and it sounds great.

  • @MrRandymaniac Personally i cant stand the spiders. I had one and the all of the distortion channels sounded just too digital. Im working on paying of a valveking myself and the lead tones blow the Line 6 out of the water

  • @MrRandymaniac line 6's will crap out on your face if you turn them up too loud. solid state blows HxC, well at least when itts by itself.

  • lol i have that huge monster stack over there to the left, and it sounds alot better without the reverb cranked up to where u sound like ur in a tunnel...best amp ive ever played tho for under 2000$

  • Anyone know what foot switch you suppose to get for this amp?

  • does the Volume boost switch make a noticeable difference at low volume? As I don't seem to hear any difference with its press in or out!

  • This guy's in humbucking mode.

  • There is no comparison between the video and the real thing. I just picked one up yesterday after having it on layaway for months. I was jamming with the drummer, and I had this amp on 3 and people could hear us from almost a half a mile away. It's really versatile, has amazing tone, and will knock you out. I never turned it up more than half because I couldn't hear the drummer.

    In short, buy this now!

  • I just drooled all over my keyboard...

  • An alright video for an amp that's great for the money. I must say though, a G5 is a terrible example of an "open chord" xD.

  • I'd like an amp that has a great tone for metal in the style of Dream Theater or Opeth. Not necesseraly a lot of distortion, just great tone when distorted, if you guys know what i mean xD And i like my tone to be really bassy and warm, should i get this or the Vypyr 60w tube?

  • @Justin011794

this amp the vypyr is a modeling amp an di hate modeling amps : p

you can et allmost all sounds you want out of this amp just use a tubescreamer as boost and you'll get the best metal tones

  • @Justin011794 Dream Theater. You just made me laugh.

  • @Justin011794

Play the "bass" if you like your "bassy" and warm tone, electric guitar is for midrange purpose.

  • holy crap....... I want that amp

  • OMG getting the head tomorrow! this is the best affordable amp!!!

  • Great little amp. I own a vintage fender tweed, Mesa etc and this amp can hang with them both. Cleans are exceptional and dirty channel is very good. Negatives: it REALLY heavy @ 90 pound I' d guess, and its not the quietest amp I've played. A 2 channel amp that is essentially 3 channels with the boost. Best 400.00 amp on the market IMHO. Also reliability is questionable, Mine has been serviced once during 1 year of steady gigging but hard to do better for the money. Buy it.

  • What are thenotes he isplaying at 6:07? Its a lovely sound. Looks like sweep picked chords omn the top 4 strings.

  • So, what are the bad sides of this amp =)? I might be getting this in few days, I have a Laney Hcm 30 now, I hope Peavey will be much better

  • @metalcro supposedly the stock speaker isnt very good but thats the only shit ive heard about it

  • I keep thinking you are about to get murdered when the camera gets all fuzzy. Great demo...top of my list to check out.

  • If i would be running a Wah Phaser Flanger and a 10 band EQ pedal through this amp should i get a noise surpressor too ? just to get rif of any hiss ?

  • Lets go to the dirty channel!! XD that made me laugh!!! Go Peavey

  • BUTTERY.

  • Its really close to a fender clean.

  • if your using 3-4 pedals with this amp should i use a noise gate?

  • @guitarmessiah95 I've got just two pedals and I use a noise gate. I think its a pretty good idea to get one. Id get the MXR smart gate, maybe off ebay (a bit cheaper). and it cuts out all the background static nicely without costing your tone.

  • line 6 amps suck! i got the 112 valveking it kicks all . good guitarist too

  • I'm going to be investing in a 212. Would it sound alright with an Ibanez TS9 Tube Screamer?

  • @dos195 Yes, all though, Tube screamers are good. I recommend a Bad Monkey. In my opinion it makes the crunch heavier, and there quite a bit cheaper.

  • I've been thinking on getting the 112 version of this amp, or the Bandit 112. what would be the better choice? ive tried both, and i wanna know what would be the better buy

  • @UnconciousHippie I own a 112 its an awesome amp fuckin loud as hell. sometimes when im jammin with friends its louder than the drummer alone

  • @UnconciousHippie 112 Valveking is awesome. I have it and it's a great amp.

  • @UnconciousHippie The Peavey Valveking 112 would be better. It has that warm tube sound that you can't really get from a solid state. But you know, I'm a tube kinda guy, and from my perspective, they sound WAY better than most solid states out there.

  • lol, "head room"

  • So, are the combo versions of this tube as well? And how well do they perform compared to a Classic 30?

  • Would this amp be good for metal with a metal pedal?

  • @thegreenway1994 ANY amp is good for metal with a metal pedal, thats the whole purpose of the metal pedal. However, if you wanted an amp thats good for metal without a pedal, check out the Peavey 6505 and 5150 amps

  • ive got a 112, and have been giging it for some time, and has never let me down. beautiful amp!

  • How would this amp sound with a multi-pedal? I've been looking for a combo amp that doesn't sound like shit with a multi-pedal.

  • @getthepoooffmybum all amps sound like shit with a multi pedal because all multi pedals sound like shit. if you want great tone you have to save up the money and buy a good amp and separate pedals.

  • @peavyt15 I disagree. I use a Boss gt8 multi effects with this amp and the tone is unbelievable.

  • @getthepoooffmybum with a multi effects pedal your tones will be just about the same with every amp unless you have something like a 50 dollar ibanez amp. go with something like this and just trade in your multi effects pedal and buy a good distortion pedal and a volume pedal. this amp can do the rest.

  • @getthepoooffmybum The ValveKing does a good job with multi-pedals but the Peavey Classic 30 is better than the ValveKing 112

  • can ya get a good satch tone out of this

  • I love what you do from 6:15 to 6:24 . Brilliant.

  • Is this loud enough to play with a drummer?

  • Finally getting rid of valveking 112. Getting an Orange rockerverb 50 head and a 212 cab

  • please someone help me. I like to play blues, ac/dc, megadeth and country stuff. what should i get: Peavey 212 or 112, Marshall DFX100 or a Laney 65watts??

  • @fckugler Peavey 212 FTW

  • For 650$ this is fucking best amp ever!!!

  • @peschernuy

I got mine (VK100 head) at a pawn shop for $275! No footswitch though, I had to buy one. :(

  • Is this amp good for metal?

  • Bandit 112 is way better than this amp!

  • @Dziekon666

Nonsense, I have had both, but the Valveking is clearly far superior. This Valveking sounds like a real tube amp should. The only downside would be the lack of gain for SOME metal(core) genres. But most of the time it will do just fine, especially with a booster. (The Bandit has even less gain btw)

The Bandit is a lovely amp also, but it's not as good as this Valveking.

  • I've got a peavey valveking 212 which has two 16 homes speaks running at 8 ohms, I've just got a valveking 4x12 Cabinet which is 16 ohms, is there anyway to get the two of them running together, and can I rewire the Cabinet to 8 ohms?

  • I could probably help you if you tell me the ohms of the speakers inside the 412 cab.

  • Hi yes is the 112 version loud enough to outplay a drummer.

  • Are you serious ? any 50w ALL-TUBE amp is loud enough to outplay drummer... or at least most of them...

  • @Whipko would a 50 watt solid state outplay a drummer?

  • @Whipko Just an not all 50 w amps are not created equal, neither are drummers. I used to jam with a guy who could easily keep up to my 100 W half stack 4x12. All his hardware and cymbals were all bent to shit...

  • @Whipko my 15 watt Line 6 can outplay my friend when he's drumming so a 50 watt tube could definately drown it out

  • @CrNcHyFROG5 Line 6 are all loudness and the tone sucks and there is no power

  • @Whipko plus, you can always mic it to the PA if it's still not enough.

  • This amp sounds amazing! What a surprise after watching the Vypr I realized it was a bling box. This amp has some serious tonal range in all styles! Shred Funk Country I gotta go check for some drop tunings to hear how it hangs for metal.

  • Hi!

What is better? Peavey Valveking 112 or Kustom Defender?

  • Kustom Defender probably has a better overall tone, but if you want gain and versatility go with the Peavey.

  • can this amp still sound good at a practice level? (to me that is slightly loud to my ears)

  • I own it and it does, only you have the volume knob at about 1, which makes it a little hard to precisely adjust to volume to practice level.

  • i have this amp and i love it i play shows with it all the time this amp is perfect for a band. and if you want to go crazy like i did get the 4x12 cabinet with it. it will blow your mind. and on top of that the price is not that bad

  • @tugafwe

how do you run a vk212 with a 4x12 cabinet

    one is vk212 8ohms a the 4x12 is 16 ohms?

  • Comment removed

  • Is this amp basically good for any tone? I just need a good tone to mess up with pedals... I play post-hardcore, cap'n jazz stuff with a bit of noise mixed in...

  • Is this reliable to gig with? Sounds great.

  • It's as reliable as any other all-tube amp.

  • i'd gig it.

  • whats the difference between a vavleking 112 and 212???

  • Check the Peavey website.

  • 112 has one 12" speaker and 50w. 212 has 2 speakers and 100w.

  • @keletappi2

also, you can switch all those fucking powerfull 100W into 16, 8 or 4 ohms

AND the 212 have 2 more 6L6 tubes, that makes the clean a LOT better than the 112

  • The Valveking 112 has one 12 inch speaker , the Valveking 212 has two 12 inch speakers. Kinda logic

  • 112: 50w amp

    212: 100w amp

  • the speaker configuration!

  • the 112 is smaller.

  • I have the ValveKing 212 and am able to produce just about any tone, from gritty hard metal to mellow warm bluesy tones just with the amp alone. Its got a great bass response as well as high enough treble outputs to make your ears bleed.

I have run the amp in the High Output, Class A/B mode since I took the amp out of the box. I use the amp about 3 to 4 hours a day. I love it, and have got to say, It was worth the money. I play a Fender Deluxe Strat- Hard Metal&Southern Rock....Beautiful Match

  • why my amp heavent this sounds ??? i have peavey vk 112... can you say me some good settings of this amp ? i want good dis. for metal music..

  • depends on your guitar pickups... totally, becuz using PAF plus you can turn the gain like 2 o clock to get the tone you want, if you got emg's or a SD Ivader you can get the tone you want by getting the gain like... 10 o clock

  • seymour duncan alnico 2 pro FTW

  • I've gone a vk212 which is set at 8 ohms, I have recently bought a valve king 4x12 Cabinet which is rated at 16 ohms what should my amp be on? Using the amplifier and the Cabinet together, 4, 8, or 16 ohms?

  • Always match the impedence of the speaker cabs with the amp, so 16 ohm cab means that the amp should be set to 16 ohms too. But if you have two 16 ohm cabs, then the amp should be set to 8 ohms. With 8 ohm cab, amp should be set to 8 ohms...with two 8 ohm cabs, amp should be set to 4 ohms.

  • So what should it be on then if my VK212 is 8 ohms and my cabinet is 16 ohms, and I need to use that both together?

    8 or 16 ???

  • You shouldn't mix different impedences into the amp. Either use one (8 ohm or 16 ohm) or two of the same (8 ohm + 8 ohm or 16 ohm + 16 ohm). Two 8 ohm cabs = 4 ohms at amp, two 16 ohm cabs = 8 ohms at amp.

  • I was thinking of that, re-wireing the Cabinet to 8 ohms

  • Don't mix 8 ohms and 16 ohms. Use 2 of the same. You may be able to fix the problem by switching some wires around on your speakers. Research "parallel vs. series wiring". Remember, you want both sources to be the same...either both 8 ohms, or both 16 ohms.

  • I've gone a vk212 which is set at 8 ohms, I have recently bought a valve king 4x12 Cabinet which is rated at 16 ohms what should my amp be on? Using the amplifier and the Cabinet together, 4, 8, or 16 ohms?

  • yes, yes, and depends on where you are lol

  • i have a valve 2x12 the only thing it isn't good for is heavier like death metalish stuff it just sounds muddy. what i did is a bought a bbe sonic maximizer to boost lows and highs and scoop a little from the lows.

  • It's a full tube amp man, so just turn it up and run your guitar through a decent stomp distortion, then you'll get a heavy tone that would make you jizz your pants.

  • wow peavey...

you make a demo of an your own amp where the person has a better sound for his voice, than for your amp.

    :|

  • You'll never get their sound exactly (they use many effects, not just amp & guitar), but it's a good & inexpensive place to start.

  • Should i get a Randall rg50tc or a valveking if i want to play metal etc. something like metallica :)

  • Too much room verb to get a real idea of sound.

  • its a good amp, ive played the half stack at a store. distortion is not bad

  • It's a good amp, with a few tweaks, an even better amp. I had my amp guy do some tone stack mods, beef up the power supply. I changed the flabby VK speakers to Celestion V30s and retubed with Tung Sol preamp and power tubes. JJs work very well too. A/B'd it with my 100 watt Mesa Nomad head and this bitch rocks

  • what does A/B mean?

  • Class A-A/B control called Texture™, which allows sweepable selection between Class A and Class A/B power structures, as well as any combination of the two.

  • Lol A selection or B selection on a switch.. If you have the head you should understand this

  • Class A & Class A/B have to do with the design of the amp and the use of the power tubes. Different power structures will offer different tone.

  • WHen in the description you say 112 and 212 speakers only, does that mean I cannot put a Celestion G12T-75 12" Speaker into the Valvekine 112?

  • 112 means it has One 12 inch speaker, 212 means Two 12 inch speakers. You can change the speakers to Celestion if you want.

  • you probably could, that just means those models only come with that kind of speaker.

  • Would this be a good choice for metal?

  • dude.. i've just bought this amp.. and it's a f*cking MONSTER!!!!! just amazing..

  • I want to know his settings because i have VK 112 and i find sounds like that.. exactly iam looking for sound of 05:00 to end... disortion.. can anyone help me with find a good and nice tone ? thank you very much.. keep on rockin :)

  • YEAH IM BUYING IT!!!

    DUDE ITS ORGASMIC!

    im so happy!

  • I thinked it sounded great,,,,,,

  • that guy looks like daron malakian from system...

  • Just what I was thinking lol

  • what song is it?

    0:55

  • i really hate when in a amp demo, NO ONE plays real riffs. a lot of soloing but no riffs at all

  • how much does it cost ?

  • That amp has alot of treble, but I'm guessing that is partly due to youtube's compression

  • Comment removed

  • what would you have the Texture control on for hard rock / metal ?

  • Full Power IMO. A/B mix

  • This amp is great. Only bad thing I noticed (Which might only be with the piece that I purchased) that as you put the reverb on, it gets annoyingly noisy. Gain on a tube amp is ought to have some basic noise in a quiet room but with reverb??

I wonder if anybody else faced this problem too. I am going to exchange this out for a new one.....can't take the noise with reverb up. Except that, BEAUTIFUL amp. Value for money I say !!!
