  • I find the Earth Ship people to be very conceited and more about 'self' than 'all of us' as in they Serve Satan. It would hard for me to purchase an 'Earth Ship' when all the people who have been affected by that group of people, are planet destroying Satanist sacks of shit. The 'karma' of this house, is 'Willful ignorance', 'mass murder' and the 'complete destruction' of Mother Earth. Earth ship's are made by evil mother fuckers that need to die so this planet can Live.

  • @endthedrugwar Red herring propaganda. Care to tell us your reasoning for thinking this way?

  • @donsjuand I did. Please read the comment again. I fucking hate the greedy fucks that build Earth Ships. They care less about Planet Earth than Rothschilds. Believe that. Greedy fucks.

  • @endthedrugwar what are you talking about man? I'm interested in building one to be sustainable and live cheaply and great! I don't see how they could be evil.. Please intelligently break down your reasoning for such comments. I'm curious! I'm not joking please take me serious. Why?

  • As a degreed engineer and an advocate of sustainable living with a trump card played on appropriate size homes I have has several back and forth discussions with Mike about the cost I am still in the boat with those who say this is way too expensive for the major portion of the group that desires this type living. So, I still believe these earth ships, while succeeding in being sustainable are ONLY a good fit for the rich! We nor here to make a living for others. What do you live in now ?

  • @Engineer245 I disagree on the basis of utilizing free materials wherever possible as well as monthly bills being FAR less. However, costs could go down if an alternative to concrete and bought dimensional lumber were available to you. For example using leftover lumber from construction dumpsters and windows from renos were freframed. Cost is the last reason to discount this after labor, time and potential code issues.

  • @donsjuand - No ! Cost is the major issue and can not be discounted in these days of waste. Wasting hard earned money is as bad as wasting anything. It lakes no sense to build something that cost you $300 a month to rent (property taxes) from the government for the rest of your ownership. To be a true consevative in all things one must do just that ! All those claiming to be eviromentist must also be conservative in all things not just this or that !

  • @Engineer245 I think we agree on the principal of lowered footprint...the point is earthships DON'T HAVE to cost the amount you were given. The cost is up to the builder to reduce/influence through creative means such as using old free lumber, tires from a junkyard looking to get rid of them, free dirt, old patio door glass etc. Sweat and intelligence equity; a lowt earthship cost will come from dissecting the items and costs others have spent and finding better alternatives.

  • @Engineer245 That's because the Earth Ship people are the greediest most selfish mother fuckers ever to have lived. Don't support the sacks of shit. They need to die, truly. They are evil at its purest and most greedy.

  • That was awesome

  • Hi s9TeeN..

I actually built my earthship for $50,000 and 8 years of labor..sold it last October

  • Looks like a nice place but even with all the research into earthships that I have done I still can't believe the cost of these things! I understand it is a lot of manual labor and that there are no bills once you own the house but seriously how many people that desire to live in homes like this can afford that!? Honestly I still view this as people being greedy with money! Bring down the price to something affordable and perhaps more people will desire the life style!

  • I agree with being completely sustaining, but why is it so expensive? Is it the land and I wish there were ones available for long term rentals. I have a family of 5 and done a lot of research on earthships but can't find any info on community. I know there is a great community in Taos but what about where the earthships are? Are there other families and why are people selling them. For me I love the idea and embrace going off the grid.

  • wow a nice area for a magnetic wind turbine

  • I used to live out in Taos and helped build many an earthship. When it all boils down to it you have to consider that an earthship is not some standard spec house it is more of a living monument a piece of art that in most cases takes many years to perfect. If you want to break the cost of materials down and disect it like that then consider how much picasso spent on paint during his 'blue period' !

  • Every inch of this earthship has been not just handmade, but painstakingly crafted with an attention to detail that you will not find in any three bedroom moneytrap in whatever other state. And as far as questioning why the place is being sold. I can bet that it is not being done without a few tears shed. Building these places - they become like an important family member.

  • And if you know anything about Taosenos you would know that they are a highly creative and highly intelligent breed who are often called to go all over the world with extended creative opportunities. This is a GEM of an Earthship from what I can see, and the greater world community is ANYTHING but lonely. Taos is a magical and very social place like no other that I've experienced in all my travels in the USA. 178,900 - sure, I can see that.

  • for $178.900 I can buy a newer 3 bedroom house with a full finished basement in my State! One would think that using free waste material to build an earthship that the cost to buy a finished one would be more economical. A one bedroom like this I would imagine costing maybe $20,000 with labor and materials at the most.. A water cistern is around $1,500 and a eco-toilet around $200, a bath tub and shower maybe $200, free tires, free dirt, free cans and bottles, bricks maybe $1,000, not $178,900

  • @NewChristianSoldiers but your buying land as well.

  • could it be lonely there? can i ask how much it cost to build it. with out the cost of the land?

  • the question is why does the person want to sell it. is the life no-longer for her?

  • 178900 for a earthship my ass u cant even get a mortage on that how do u expect anyone to buy that

  • she is probaby bored of the desert

  • So, is it still up for sale?

  • very nice! +1 on why are you selling.

  • why are you selling it?
