Thanks so much for putting up the videos with Rex Rickman in them. I didn't realize they still exised, I only have 1 still photo from Hamlet. Rex was my Dad. So Thanks again.
Thanks to whoever dug this video up! Paddy was my teacher and mentor in the early 1970's, and it's wonderful to see him 20 years prior to that. He always spoke of using "little swords" to help him conceive fight sequences, and here he is doing just that! He was quite a character, generous, bright, and had real old world charm. You can also see Paddy doubling Errol Flynn in the final fight in the film, "The Master of Ballentrea." He looked enough like Flynn that he even doubles from the front!
Thank you very much. I had the great opportunity to work with Maestro Crean. He worked with those miniatures until 2001. It is nice to see him at his peak & prior to working with Flynn. Even in his eighties I had to be leery of his riposte. I quite miss the old boy.
Again thank you for finding this clip & posting it.
Great vid! So inspiring to see old fight choreographies, especially those with 'old school' fencing. I'm going to choreograph a knifefight in the future and need al the inspiration I can get!
