  • The pic. marked Black Waiters Ga, 1899 I would like to correct the author. The picture is actually a Black Masonic Lodge . The Worshful Master in the middle wearing dark apron ,The Sr. And Jr. Wardens on his sides The Stewards are holding the staffs wearing white aprons.

  • A handful of Black people of mostly African descent? Have Black people FORGOTTEN what Africans look like without racial mixing? I guess they have. Stop assigning an African identity to people who are clearly not African. What a joke.

  • @vutube379 Black is still black, no matter the mix. A black will still resemble an african in some way.

  • @HaddenTheGreat Seriously now. These photos and tons of other photos circulating on the internet says differently. Very funny.

  • Thank you for uploading. Truly fascinating and beautiful portraits.

  • Can someone please tell me the point of the video?

  • NOW THIS IS HOW WE SHOULD STILL BE!!!!DRUGS ,ALCOHOL..AND MOST OF THE RAP MUSIC/VIDEOS FUCKED UP EVERYTHING.

  • Do you notice how lots of the "black" children look half white??

  • Instead all we are taught is slavery and struggle. Settling for less and barely making ends meet. This is not what we are made up. We are made of so much more than that. This really needs to be taught to our youth. They need to know where they come from. So much false negativity is placed upon the Black race. Thank you so much for uploading this video. It brought tears to my eyes.

  • These pictures should be shown and talked about during Black History. This is uplifting and shows us that Blacks are an amazing and strong race. To be able to suffer so much persecution but not give up. To excel far beyond the limitations put on the Black race and to still rise to the top. Such strength, courage, and character. This part of our history is taken away from us.

  • @shojogrl Yes, I whole-heartedly agree!

  • Not one of those pictures have a smile

  • One of the portrait's looks exactly like my son.....wow. could be a ancestor,

  • gotta love enya with african american pictures ^_^.. shouldve played sounds of africa by her as well :-)

  • damn black people were clean at one time lol maybe we should go bk n to slavery so we can clean this world up

  • @xxletmeloveu90xx shiting me! you'll be goiong back by ya damn self. lol

  • Love the old pics....many of these people were not "black" ... many were mulattoes and native americans. At one point there was a very fine distinction made between negro and these other categories (such as on our census'). Just an observation

  • I admit I am pretty racist growing up here in rural NC, but I have nothing but respect for these people of dignity. Wish blacks had some pride like that today. No, I'm not talking about all of you before somebody pops a spring!

  • If they could see the black youth of today I'm sure they would be sorely ashamed

  • @suckmycod ...i agree...its no respect anymore.

  • @Briston97 I am not a racist, and God knows we all have problems, but I feel like these people had respect and were treated with respect in kind! Man......Lil Wayne? These folks would have ran him out of the country! Maybe? Respect to you as well my friend, take care.

  • ummm wheres the pictures of what was going on with a majority of blacks then

  • @solidkid4 Plenty of that on the tube..nice to have some beauty in the middle of all the ugliness and harshness..

  • @MultiplicityMe2 AGREED!

  • these people are beautiful thank you

  • Wow! Sounds like the angels are singing :)

  • love the song u played 4 us,wat type of music is it?

  • @darkconversationist The artist is Enya, from Ireland. She has an angelic voice & her music is quite ethereal. I played some of her music at my Mom's funeral.

  • @desertdoggz ok thank u so much

  • @darkconversationist Your very welcome, here is a link to one of my favorite songs by Enya called "Paint the sky with Stars" check it out & enjoy! /watch?v=YlbinBv8178

  • These photos were taken in an age of segregated schools.

The images show many black Americans obtaining high levels of education, & of involvement in the civilized society (such as that "composition room" of a newspaper, such as the teacher's college, the university graduates, the ministers' school & the black family in front of the LOVELY Victorian home. I'm white and I wish I HAD such a home!) This is "oppression?" These images don't show a story of oppression, but opportunity & high class!

  • These pictures are lovely. Showing a very high degree of refinement and dignity in the subjects. However, none of them show signs of age. Can you please explain to me why they all look flawless as if they were taken yesterday? If I'm not mistaken, that was the age of the dagguerotype, which fades, smudges and ages badly. How did you find so many photos so well-preserved?

  • I really like the video. Thanks for posting.

  • In the Caribbean we say Mulatto or Creole for 1st generation and multi-generation Mulattoes. It is not a negative word like SOME people in the US implies. In Africa Mulatto the term Mulatto and "coloured" means those of mixed race. Colored means mixed in most countries in the African continent. Negroe which is the global term for 100% or near 100% is Black unmixed. Some folks need to use their critical thinking skills. Self identifying as Multi-racial, Mulatto, Creole is fine.

  • Loved the video. Great job :)

  • they don't look like slaves to me what is your message in this video i want to understand

  • @danae417 : What do you expect slaves to look like? All disheveled and unkempt as you have taught in college? Don't you know that slaves were equally humans like you too. At their free time, they were like any normal human family...they bathe, clean and dressed elegantly to have portraits of themselves taken.

  • @tobim2004 yes in school we were shown pictures of slaves that looked unkempt and so forth even in movies what i was saying that you don't see this in the history books i was not there back then so all i see is what is in the whitewashed history books and movies. yes i understand now why the video was put up 2 months ago i didn't and my grandparents don't have any pictures from back then so i didn't have a glue only the slave trade and the ships which was taught in school

  • @tobim2004 These people were not slaves. These pictures were taken in 1890, 1899, 1900 and 1924, decades after slavery had ended.

  • @danae417 These people were not slaves. Slavery officially ended in 1865.

  • what state were these taken

  • I DON'T KNOW WHY BUT IM A BROWN GIRL WHO IS 13 YEARS OLD AND THESE PICTURES make me love my culture so much even tho some of us were mixed up but it kinda makes me sad because i know they were achieving in what they did but i can tell they were unhappy and i know blacks werent the only slaves in america but we were treated the worst we were posined, beaten, spitted on,made front of,etc.some black kids now days dont appreciate this like i do i love my people even tho we fight and sometimes argue

  • I DON'T KNOW WHY BUT IM A BROWN GIRL WHO IS 13 YEARS OLD AND THESE PICTURES make me love my culture so much even tho some of us were mixed up but it kinda makes me sad because i know they were achieving in what they did but i can tell they were unhappy and i know blacks werent the only slaves in america but we were treated the worst we were posined, beaten, spitted on,made front of,etc.but black kids now days dont appreciate this like i do i love my people even tho we fight and sometimes argue

  • I don't know about anybody else, but I alway wonder who black folks dealth with the day to day racism and challeges all around them back then, even after so many years after the civil war. I am sure glad they more than hung in there. Its a lot when every section of society and other races put themselves befofe you. Its amazing to survive, creat, and grow under all that. Man, if we had the protection of the law and that 40 acres and a mule, our wealth of this country would of been nice to have.

  • 04:07...wasnt that dude the bass player in "Prince and the Revolution"...

  • i no this has a lot of racist comments im not even going to read them but nice "PICTURES"

  • Before I even started reading the comments I already knew this vid would have negative racist comments behind it. It is 2011, we have a black president. Come on people, why must ignorance continue to rear its ugly head. We are all God's creatures. This is ridiculous.

  • Wonderful! Made me think about all the obstacles they had to overcome we really take so much for granted now and days this was a very touching piece.

  • SkyWarriorstudio,

Just simple and beautiful your video, you thrill me. Sincerely,

    Felix Vasconcelos (Irauçuba Ceará Brazil)

  • These are very beautiful pictures, I love how classy and dignified they were:)

I admire all of these people:)

Why does everything have to be a racial fight, just enjoy the photo's of a time long gone, why can't you just do that?

  • You know what? Just shut up. Nobody owes you a damne thing. You have not been the only ones to have been enslaved . Every Race on this planet has been enslaved at one point or the other. The thing every one forgets is that slavery makes it's decendants better. During the Roman occupation of most Europe, The europians learned about architecture, different forms of irrigation, farming, textiles, medical procedures ect. Were it not for slavery you would be fighting lions with sharp sticks. You ow us!!

  • @MrBerekhhnd Africans did not used to fight lions with sticks we new they were animals and should be left alone. Its only you european caucasian devils who have to mess with the lions and put them in to cages. Your society is not all that ,the powers and sprits will showyou stuck up devils oneday. Most people whocommet on Africa have not even been there, Just thinkwhat you see on tv is ture. when your racist societies flood we willseewhere you devils are rushing to go

  • these blacks are american Indian

  • NICELY DONE!!!

  • Be Beautiful People!, America has a lot to answer for and I believe that will come till then just be Beautiful to each other!1

  • Classy pictures. I love the clothing of that time.

  • very beautiful

  • American history is a full shame history !

  • @XpresloX it's true...i'm not african america, i'm african so when i see all pics, i feel shame from american history...

  • Lets cut the crap and call it "Old America"

  • @hhgamble No its named rightly because old America would be a bunch of devils (white slave masters).

  • I Love seeing old photos. Wish I could get photos that old of my ancestors

  • This music makes me feel like I'm floating lol

  • Uavetheface.your head is filled with monotonous knowledge..if white people not give them space for study and give their good jobs .caculating is simple stealing . what would you do in the same place whitout changes?can you tel me where go the wid and where is the expiration of the wind. If you think you are so smart white simple minded. How many levels have the whole universum ? or 10-9 in one second or 1 ns , can you say what this is and who have invented this ?white simple sardonic thinker.

  • The negro is a dangerous creature suffers from being paranoid every time a white person looks at them they roam the streets like wild apes attacking when they have the greater numbers ,they rob and steal they dont want to work ..why dont we send these African Americans but to Africa !! Usa would be a better place to live in.

  • @uavetheface wow guess what - it appears your not very intelligent so I suggest you start educating yourself by reading the dictionary if you look up the word "Ignorant" you will see the definition of yourself!! might help if you look up redneck and racist also - you'll learn alot about yourself! oh lets not forget "stupid" look that one up also lol

  • Alot of these African Americans are mainly more mixed and more noticebly (the ones with lighter complections) decendants of mixed race maybe even creole, anyways, I FIND THEM ALL BEAUTIFUL, including the clothes, particularily the women esp. the woman's dress at 3:45!

  • Fuck black people, they are too negative, move the fuck on!!

  • @Lazybabyz wow dnt blame black ppl for your miserable sad life! all the racist deluded people on here whether your white or black for real its sad your so weak to understand what it means to be "human" first the colour or race of someone should not stop you from seeing a "human being" first - it is this sick, ignorant lazy weak way of thinking and living from lazybabyz and uavetheface that enabled hitler to dictate and inject all the hatred he spread in his horrific reign.

  • The women in the picture at 2.36 is Laura Nelson in 1911 her and her son were lynched From a bridge In Oklahoma go online and look up her tragic. Story

  • nice video

  • I'm pretty sure these portraits were created for the World's Fair in Paris in 1900. They had an exhibition on African Americans. You can see them at the Library of Congress online.

  • These people clearly aren't slaves and are clearly middle class. There were a few families who were relatively well off compared to the vast majority who were not sitting for portraits. It is nice to see photos of black gentry but it says nothing of the conditions of the vast majority. These pics all come from one studio in 1899.

  • @MrBexdem No they are not slaves since it ended in 1865. there has always been a Black middle/upper class

  • It wasn't slavery that hurt black america, although bad, it was the wild behavior after 1965 with sex and drugs in the open...i always get mad when someone blames slavery!!

  • @49jubilee yeah slavery was great!shut your dicksuckin lipsor just dont post your opinions dumbshit!!

  • CLASS, HONOR AND DIGNITY is what l see when l see the people in these pictures. I wish they could come back and teach the youth today, help them get there ACT TOGETHER. cause GOD knows we need help!

  • I Love it I would like to make a point most of these people were from up north the south in those times were still very hostile there were only a few pics with very dark-skinned people most of them, were mixed race u can see how our race is mixed and we as black people were forever changed i think its a beautiful thing

  • A TEAR ROLLED OUT OF MY EYE....THA DATE ON THESE PIC IS NOT FAR FROM SLAVERY ENDING

  • lovely

  • simply breathtaking!

  • Beautiful photos . . . beautiful people.

  • Thank you so very much! This is so beautiful! Please always keep it available?

  • The ever so dishonorable Nicki Minaj comes to mind as I browse these lovely pics that are full of CLASS. Black youth these days need to get it together. I blame it on the Black parents, media, etc..

  • 8:10 Is that a aesthetically ethnically european dude in the middle?. Well, good on him for joining the band for whatever reasons.

  • These pictures are beautiful! We are so many colors. Let's just embrace and stop the bickering

  • I don't know what the hell you'll are talking about! 1:17, 1:48, 2:37, 2:47, 3:17, 3:38, 6:21, 7:14, 7:58, 8:18, 8:27, 8:48 could have said, " black men" going to church," but whatever. 9:02, 9:29; plenty of dark skinned people!

  • HELLO U STUPID ??????????NATIVES ARE NOT BLACKS NATIVES ARE DISGUSTING ,FILTH,HALF BREEDS THAT THINK THEY CAN TURN INTO WOLFSlol ALSO THINK THEY ARE SUPERIOR. IM NOT BLACK!!! I WANNA BE BLACK THATS Y I PUT MY ACCOUNT 4 ALL BLACK PEEPS BETTER THAN THOSE RED NECK FOSCELS!

  • @Beproudtobeblackzim4 you need to be killed! and i hope soon! youre a mindless bag of shit!

  • Im loving the video and after reading the comments. All I can say It is what it is human race is Beautiful in all shapes and colors. Can you believe a white couple actually had a black child and the DNA test results belong to them both. God is showing you that we are 1 Race checkout a video called White Mommy, White Daddy, Black Baby (Family Tree)

  • @l0velyyounglady AMEN, GREATcommen

  • @bbgurl22ful r u out your mind are you white is that your personal believe all whites come from blacks origanal people all natives that were here first were african stop calling us black its a insult your fore fathers created this word like many others to help with the land theft.who is osh kosh

  • @bbgurl22ful not all i have seen many AA with very strong African features.

  • @bbgurl22ful not true. there are actually some african americans who are full african descent.

  • @bbgurl22ful why do you say that???? there were more blacks in slavery who were not mixed than mixed yunno...some were mixed..about the same during slavery as were mixing in the 60's ...but who cares ..people only care about it cus it happened during slavery and because we werent ther so it has this "aura" about it.....mixing is at an all time high today and it really isnt a big deal.

  • @mddarch2 Yeah, but if u think about those mixed blacks marrying the unmixed blacks, their offspring are also now mixed & this continues through generations until until nowadays when something like 95% (or more) of black ppl R actually Multi generationally mixed whether they know it or not. Just like there are white ppl with a % of black or Native blood also. Mixing isnt a big deal cuz it doesnt hav 2 b hidden as be4.

  • what's up witj 1899?

  • 2 Points:

    1. True West Africans do not have light skin, straights/wavy hair, narrow noses and thin lips. Apparently, our African Ancesters came from West Africa.

    2. These so called "Black Americans" are indeed mixed people who happen to have Black Blood.

  • You sound Extremely Ignorant, We have Black Actors, that Play Africans, Don Chetum, Derrick Luke U NEED to go down South, Honey, Some Blacks look like they Just Step out of Africa. Visit an All Black College. U R THE ONLY ONE MIXED, AND YOUR EYES HAVE PISS IN IT. U R SILLY.

  • i don't agree wit that at all... i may be white but i know livin in this world, i know that the whites have been rude and cruel to all african americans.. and the blacks are not mixed people... hence the name "MIXED" meaning that they are half black n half something else whether it be white, asian, hispanic whateva... i mean u can't judge n e 1, the only 1 dat can do dat is the Man up Stairs and we all have to answer to him when we leave this earth

  • @BlackAmericanIndia bullshit who is osh kosh

  • @BlackAmericanIndia and their decendants are walking the street so...

  • Cirethgr8

See you are taking the characteristics of your family and blaming all blacks. That is what you mean we need to do for self.

I come from a family that has land owners since the 1800s in west bockton but the goverment forced my people to move so we moved to were we are today and still we own over 250 acers That is your family you are talking about, my family own one of the most known funeral homes in chicago

the obama family did that inspite of slavery that is what you mean correct

  • Cirethgr8

You said we need to do fro self and stop blaming slavery You speaking about your family. My family is not like yours You the uncle tom type that say we keep bringing up slavery. stupid asshole slavery just stoped in the 1960s My great grandfather had to go help his cousin escape from mississippi it is called by other people peonage And you say the people in oklahoma got over slavery. Slavery was still back then inspite of the rouge slave camps in the south they made good

  • We have always been a great people even though they tried to re-write history for themselves etc.. in-fact it was for that reason they degraded us to start with they knew !!!! and still do the truth is coming out even biblical.

  • race is a bunch of bull shit there are too type of people

people with melanaderm the whole world

"derm" skin verses things with lukaderm

"Luka" colerless pale plain "void off beuty" well the last one was just an opinion

and who in the fuck told that fuck face cirthgr8 my people in tulsa in the 20s was not mad about slavery fuck you it was exslaves who survived the civil war made good and had the jeouluspink trash come kill them

what do you mean do for self

    WE BUILT THIS PLACE BITCH!

  • @bamaboy....what you call yourself is exactly what your mentality IS.....BAMA !

I did NOT SAY they weren't mad about it stupid ass. I said basically they didn't remain stagnant and just role over and die. I'm not even going to further explain myself to a miget minded asshole such as yourself. You need to "do for self " by educating that shit between your ears you call a brain . You COUNTRY BAMA ASS BOY !

  • are sky warrior stupid or something we can se that they are black no need to write it on every damn picture, it´s not like you would have done it if they were white.

  • That's because this is an international forum and outside of the United States a lot of the people we recognize as being black are perceived as being not black. The one drop rule was created by the US government. Outside the US many of the people in those photos would be considered white, or at the very least, not people of African origin. It may seem obvious to you, but that's because you've grown up seeing it all your life. That's not always the case with many people in other countries.

  • BULLSHT! That is NOT TRUE! AND they *are* of AFRICAN ORIGIN.... SO... that makes them Black. THey were BLACK BACK THEN AND THEY ARE BLACK TODAY! I'm MIXED AND YOU FUKERS CALL ME BLACK! You cant mix whats ALREADY THERE! All other races are just a lighter variation of BLACK! Dont believe me? Look up the article in BBC on how they found 14 DNA strands of different races on the African gene just the other day!

  • You're an asshole and I don't care to wast my time and energy talking to you. I never said they were not people of African origin. I said that outside the USA most people do not understand the why we consider a person who is obviously not 100% African to be black. You're just another youtube asshole who is incapable of holding an intelligent conversation or being able to look beyond the confines of your own stupid life to understand other perspectives. Go fuck yourself and don't reply to me.

  • Amei essas fotos. Acredito que o racismo declarado, proporcionou aos negros oportunidade de estudar e desenvolver sua cultura.

No Brasil boa parte dos retratados nessas fotos se consideraria "branco" e procuraria esconder suas origens.

  • People knew how to do their hair back in the day!lol probably because in those days people dressed more formally most of the times also at those times the way in which they did their hair was more healthy since at that time methods for styling hair was in its prime

  • Very beautiful pictures. Here's an interesting point too. Looking at these pics you see dignity, honor, self /respect, love, dedication etc. Look at a lot of pics today and it's pants hanging off of smeones a** or some young lady looking or being promiscuous. And the sad thing about it is....a lot of ppl STILL blame slavery. The ppl in these photos were a lot closer to those times and HAD their ACT TOGETHER ! ! I'm sure a lot of others as well as myself feel like they're in the wrong time

  • You make a good point.

  • Thanks tee :-)

  • SLAVERY Has EVERYTHING TO DO WITH IT! IT WAS A BREAKING PROCESS.. BACK then and during Black people were still OPPRESSED... That gave them litttle room to wiggle. But if you suddenly liberate a people that have always been oppressed you have CHAOS! Nothing really changed in America until after the CR movement. That's when you get to see the REAL damage...after you turn a people loose, but still find undercover ways to legally oppress them.... There is a lot of work left to be done!

  • @moniqtee....You mean to tell me that even TODAY slavery still has something to do w/ it . Get the fk outta here. Example...The blk ppl in Tulsa OK in the 20's. Blk Wallstreet. They had it going on and weren't pissin and moanin until it was all burned down by rascist. But building a respectful community and DOING FOR SELF...They weren't crying about slavery. They moved on and got their ACT together. Like Vineyard said in Am Hist X, How long does it take to get your ACT TOGETHER ?

  • @cirethgr8 oh it takes about twice as long as it took to get things the way they were, so lets bookmark the end of the civil rights movement as a cornerstone, i would supposed we have about 300 more years to create our real culture, but that won't happen, systemically there is no room for Black culture.

  • no room for black culture what are u talking about?

  • cont. That's just a piss poor excuse that a lot of "N***AS use that hold BLACK PPL BACK ! And there's more uncle rukus n***as than BLACK PPL, thus....collectively....making us our OWN WORST ENEMY ! I disagree entirely w/ your comment. U said if you liberate a ppl whom always been oppressed there's chaos...yeah....if there's continued institutionalized rascism. But I don't understand why collectively blks won't figure out a way around the fkn hurdle and DO FOR SELF ! STP BLMN SLVRY !

  • @cirethgr8 so your saying stop teaching history, looking at slave mentality as a system of civil control is not blaming, it's an examination of the past, effecting the present, used correctly this can effect the emotional maturity it takes for masses to move forward, not in what white society calls progress, but we as a culture can live with socially, economically and personally. We are always measuring ourselves with White expectations, where does that comes from... plantation expectations.

  • @Tracyturner1634....You've completely missed my whole point. I'm not saying stop tchg history at all. History should be learned from & move on to make things better for yourselves. Not to look back only to piss & moan & reamain stagnant like most uncle rukus folks do. I'm gonna keep it real. Some or a lot of these uncle rukus folks need to "go." They're weak links & dead weight. If you have cowards in your squad running from a fire fight setting you back what would you do ?

  • didnt miss your point at all, just looking forward as well. These 'uncle' types are a part of every culture (race)... there is always a remnant of those who live in a past with ignorance and excuses... but these 'types' do not define us as a people (black folk), they irritate us to no end, but we have to distroy the perception of the few and 'market' the accomplishments of the many.

  • it is hard to forget all that has been done to african americans ...the slavery, discrimination hatred not to mentions cruel treatment for just being a differnt color than white..i no what has happened is already past but we can never forget all those innocent black people who had to die for an unfair reason.... thats all im saying thats exactly why many black people bring that up.I ts mostly because of what our people had to go through its very hard to forget,

  • @cirethgr8 Well said.

  • @cirethgr8

    lol really good point

  • @cirethgr8 Amen to that!

  • @cirethgr8 Looks like conforming to me. Back in the seventies no one had trounsers hanging of their arses well high waisted trousers in those days. This in my view is a bunch of fair skinned black people who could afford to get a portrait and use the photographers dress up box (used by whites too) for a piccy. All the straightening of the blokes hair is awful. Nontheless we can argue the toss here this is merely dressing up for a portrait. These days all kids look dreadful even rich ones x

  • @cirethgr8 very simple explanation. you dont like how black ppl act today? what are you doing to make their (im not black american so im gonna exclude myself) lives better tho?

and im only 3 minutes in the video, but i dont see any pictures of the houses they lived in, the ones with no shoes, the POOR ones, which were the majority! and there may be rich black people today, but there are still alot of poor ones! and you wanna talk about pants on the ground, there are bigger problems than that.

  • @rantazz23 Just SAVE IT ! And the answer to your stupid question is simple. I'm raising my son to be a MAN & a PRODUCTIVE CITIZEN that's highly unlikely to end up a statistic. That's WHAT I'M DOING to make lives better. Each 1 teach 1 & each 1 reach 1. Also.....I LEAD BY EXAMPLE ! Some ppl are just born to be FKN IDIOTS and if you or anyone else has common sense, you'll discern QUICKLY & keep your distance. That's how you make lives BETTERE ! -1-

  • wow beautiful photos

  • Nice, but i hope you are aware that some of these children up there are half white from your ancestors raping them.

  • In the Unites States being black never had anything to do with a concept of racial purity. Everyone knows most AfroAmericans are a mix of at least 3 races. And no, not all of the mixture came from rape. Alot of times there were consentual relationships and a lot of what you perceive as half white is actually half Native American.

  • so sad!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • very interesting, i really enjoyed the show and I love the sound of Enya as well. Anyway, as watching the slideshow I thought what it would be like to know who my ancestors were during that time frame. If you have any information on how I can find out please let me know, thanks.

  • Beautiful Video...Thank you for sharing.

  • ignorant!!!!!!!!

  • VERY BEAUUUUUUTIFUL.

  • i have pics like these at my great grand mothers house the frame is oval shaped and the glases are shaped like bublish i kant explain it its in these times thoe

  • girl in 03:56 she Beautiful to much im Shocked from she Beauty

  • WHY ARE YOU SHOCKED?

  • Great Video! Thanks for the history. Many of us need things like this to get a grip on reality.

  • Most Blacks in America that are part ot the African diaspora are mixed to different degrees. But we are still black. Saying we are black is accepting the African ancestry. We also accept our non-African ancestry whether others recognize it or not.

  • behold a pale horse

  • i'am black regardless july you got issues to work out my brother

  • Qeen July is a female and she is perfect she does not like whites iam a fan of hers already. She must be a dam genius!

poo poo i was going to take your side but when I heard july does not like white people I almost started crying i was filled

with so much joy. dam what agreat day

  • That is crazy 1:36 looks just like my 10 year old daughter named Queen. Wow.

  • it no such thing as a mixed black person.if you have 1 drop black blood in you you're black.

  • so all people must be black because the first people were black

  • no its that every body tries to bbe black its a shame that we was the most hated people and now they fucking try to get tans and lip jobs and even trie to teach black history wtf. cmon now dat is some shit a white man tryn to teach me about my people. lol

  • THATS RIGHT! You got it! Thats exactly genetically a very TRUE STATEMENT! Yay! someone out there DOES GET IT!

  • I'm multiracial too! but... I AM BLACK!

  • nah one drop of black blood? wtf then i guess u dont evn look black den dam u aint black u want to be

  • Erm most of those people are Mixed Raced not really Black?? I saw a few Indian people.

Maybe u could have called this vid 'Non-white' America or the Racially & Historically ignored America??

I dont understand the use of Enya??? its kinda inapropriate isn't it? The film Far & Away depicted Irish people u migrated to America- Black people did not whimisically just decide to go to America they were kidnapped.

  • All blacks in North and South America did not just arrive during the slave trade. The Olmecs were African and were here centuries before Columbus or Americus Vespuci. We weren't all kidnapped. They lived in harmony with the "so called" Native americans. They didn't commit genocide on them.

  • most were kidnapped....but all Black people were made to be slaves in America

  • You are truly misinformed. Wealthy black people owned slaves too. Don;t get it twisted, whites had control, but there were free blacks here before the slave trade who were NOT slaves or made slaves. Especially in Louisiana.

  • Most Blacks in America descend from Slavery hence the European surnames they were owned by White people at some point.

I am aware that Some 'Blacks' were 'free'.

Plus I use the term Black in a different way to you because I am from England where ther is no 1 drop rule.

Mixed Raced light skin people were more likely 2b freed.

but an overwhelming majority of Black people that are in America descend from people that were kidnapped from West Africa and forced into Slavery in America that is a fact

  • The one drop rule started in Britain. lol. And being you are form England, how can you try to tell me about American HIStory? Not only do I live here, but my great grandmother was a slave. I saw her papers that said she was freed back in the 1800's. She and my other familt had great stories to tell. My people are from Nigeria roots. They taught me more than you could ever learn in any classroom or book.

  • I have pictures like this of my family, and we are all different shades, but we would never call ourselves mixed. We are BLACK.
