Smarter to pump accelerator pedal to prime and or use spray ether. Flames may indicate car running too rich or perhaps a valve leak.

That spark on the decklid at around 1:05 might be indicative of another problem. But, hey, it's okay to pour open fuel into the carbs while you work it out...
