This is so ironic...I just found your videos this morning and find them really interesting. And then later in the day I received my 14" briar Hobbit from Tom. Mine's a darker finish but also has the maple stem. Can't wait to smoke it.

The Strider is 10", the The Hobbit is 14", and The Gandalf is 18". He makes quality pipes. lunapipes com

Hi 'Bold', Did you say Todd or Tom Johnson made that pipe? I would have liked to see more of the bowl (than the stem) -Great looking pipe. By the way the pipes and tobacco for the movie 'Lord Of The Rings' were from a pipe shop near Los Angeles in Sherman Oaks or Woodland Hills (forget which) but it is now closed. Jason

How does that wooden stem hold up. That has been holding me back from getting one. Afraid of what saliva does to a stem etc

@Stormwulf133 the stem does split a little at the mouth if you excessively use it. One just needs to not smoke more then one or two bowls a day out of it.

Man I didn't even know it was Tolkien's birthday yesterday... Dang. Oh well I did read some of his yesterday. For Christmas I got a nice hardback set of the LOTR books, and The Hobbit, which I am enjoying. (Reading the fellowship for the first time.) Love your pipe as well. I ordered my brother a MacQueen Ranger for Christmas.. the wooden stems on those are awesome. Great video, and the music sounds really good.

They are starting filming of the Hobbit this month not too far from where I am living (about 25 miles). I show the ad in the newspaper for extras in a video I did a little while back.. I'll have to go there and do a video someday soon, there is a big tourist attraction where you can tour the set of Hobbiton.. Great vid man..
