  • The Holy Spirit convicts me of sin alright. It is a searing conscience, it is burning in my heart and I am ashamed. I am ashamed at whom I have hurt. You are also right, it isn't fun anymore. And you know in the end it never was. God wants us to have joy and perhaps also pleasure, but in the right place. Perhaps we are not giving ourselves this Godly pleasure. I don't think he is the author of frustration

  • Sin effects people, whether we know it or not. God knows its full effect. We should pray for repentance every day. :)

  • Why is this soooooo good? Love it.

  • 'And if I am found wanting,

    When my case is heard,

It will be by the Author,

Not some interpreter of His word.'

  • Do Christians have any laws??

  • @jodaman82

The Ten Commandments, for starters. :)

Read the Bible from cover to cover. We actually started out with some seriously harsh stuff in the first covenant. Luckily we live in the second covenant now, otherwise there'd be jihad between Christians and Muslims as we speak. :3

  • @jodaman82 Holy Spirit is my main guidance.

  • Dr Driscoll, bringing it home again. Represent!

  • That guy must've been on the "Jesus died for our sins so let's get our money's worth" philosophy. It's a funny thought, but that's about it.

  • that is true...when I sin it tears me up inside...I hate it and it hurts :(

  • @DonnaLOVESGOD

it's okay, Donna. it's just life teaching you lessons. Get to the message of what you are doing wrong and release it. It's all in your mind. There is no such thing as sin

  • @MisterMatthewRoberts No such thing as Sin? Wrong. I suppose you can believe there is no such thing as sin if you're not a Christian but belief is not a necessity of reality

  • @Osirisrules

I suppose you are right. As there are many different realities, but one actuality.

I must let you know, however, that osiris was a babylonian god

  • That's just it norqvader. I did sin, and I AM a sinner. Everyday I sin. And so do you. We are ALL sinners. Period. We cannot be perfect by the action of our own hands or our mouths, that is why the Lord gave the final sacrifice of Christ, so that we have been washed free of our sins. But when someone tells us that we must be sinfree in our words and actions to be saved, then they have done away with the cross. Made it worthless.

Saved by GRACE NOT by any works, lest we should boast.

  • If your born again all your sin past present and future is dead in Christ.Christ is not a minister of sin Gal:2:16,17 GOD'S PEOPLE VOID THE SPIRIT TO LIVE IN THE FLESH.MINISTRY IS GETTING GOD'S PEOPLE BACK IN THE AFFECTION OF CHRIST NOT A BATTLE WITH SIN!

  • Amen polo.

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast."

    Ephesians 2:8-9

By the indwelling of the holy spirit we are converted and changed over time. In God's timing, not our own. Stick with Jesus folks, and don't allow people like Mark to pull you into share and heartache. Christ is sufficient.

  • Mark breaks God's rules all the time....

    Does he hold himself accountable?

  • This guy has became one of my favorite pastors; what I love about him is that not only does he know biblical stuff, he knows how people act everyday -- he observes people and their reactions to things. That's what we need.

  • This Pastor is very true cause he studies the Bible pretty good and he knows the difference between sin and not sin.. Sometimes satan sends temptation or things that seem they're good, but God doesn't do things that easy. God Bless..

  • Why are all the sin's you refer to sexual? Is Speeding not a sin? Is saying something bad about another person not a sin? Are some sin's worse than others? Is a soldier sinning when he kills an enemy? What if that enemy was a christian?

Sin always has a consequence. No matter what. God cannot bless us when we are in Sin. He can and will extend Grace. If you sin you bring on the consequence. God is not "getting even" with us. God hurts when we bring harm upon ourselves yet he will allow it.

  • @saskatoonsafetyguy

Yes, they are sins, but Mark is not speaking at a theological conference, but a pastor speaking to a specific context where people have specific needs and problems. Perhaps those problems are rife in his church/the surrounding area, causing him to speak out against them specifically.
