@urbex2007 I learned a lot from that project and even though thats not the road I wanna take it was an incredible experience and I am very surprised about the exposure. Quit Hatin Brah
@urbex2007 Hey bro Im the kid who built it and I gotta tell you that I did do it myself. My dad approached me with a great opportunity for a summer project and I took it and am very gracious, but as far as the labor, it was all me. I installed all of the parts, made the carriages and covers for the batteries etc. I admit I don't know a lot about cars and being a 16-year old stoner and not very enthusiastic about anything at that time except girls doesnt mean i didnt know what i was doing.
You didn't actually show any of the build process, you seemed to be letting someone else do it. You didn't know what most of the parts were called either. VERY POOR AND RATED ZERO.
If you picture this - a 4000rpm in 5th gear that has 3.5 litre engine maxes out at all the resistances at about 190KM/hr. Given aprx 210hp. If an equation was given to calculate the higher rpm of the engine to aprx 9000rpm. 427KPH. Since, electricity is unforgiving =)
If you were smart. You'd keep the gear box. Start your speed at any of the specific ratios that are built into the standard transmission. Although. I will acnkowledge, high tourque over time, will perhaps shake it appart, due to all the many mechanisms, and jerky nature of a bad driver. The remove transmissions I believe for this purpose. But the speed capability far exceeds a gasoline. Tho the RPM may at speed to gear ratio may centripically tare appart the tranny.
He is NO inventor and none of the videos show him doing ANY of the work which is odd. It seems like the passenger built it for him, told him what to say and let him take the credit. The driver has no real interest!
my rides crazy :P u can see my prototype :P electric bike its did 92km/h on 133v of a123 dewalts :P look up 133v bike im planing a new bike that will do 100km/h with my current project for the winter its a enduro that so far did 72km on 80v im planing on doing 100v or lipo batterys on my new build and if the motor can take it 133v :P
passenger = douche.... electric is in it's infancy, it's not going to be whipping sideways at 80 just yet...but you've done good man. very good. congratulations:)
With that crappy D+D motor at 96v of 12v floodies? Something like 40mph for 20 miles max. Dude get urself a Warp-11 with a Zilla HV then fill that bitch with thundersky lithiums!
My ride? Zilla, Warp-11, 6V batts at 96v. Yeah I know, but 16 lead acid batteries is all I can fit, and lithiums are 2 pricey. I'm going for range with a 65mph top speed.

Yes, the original transmission was used without the clutch. Still works great!

This is great! Are you using the original transmission?

I agree, this looser probably doesn't know shit about cars and had his dad or a shop do everything for him.

So does the clutch in this car work or no cause i see alot of electric cars that don't use clutches.
fordescort98 3 years ago
It probably does but no need to use it when you stop as the accelerator controls power to the motor - it is not spinning all the time like an engine.

Am I to assume that these are the components that you've installed on your ride? What's your top speed and range?
