That is the reason why the absolute majority of Uzbeks have both Mongoloid and Caucasian features. Also, only few groups of Uzbeks are of Mongol origin. Majority of city Uzbeks and those of Ferghana valley and Khorezm are descendants of both ancient Iranic population of the region and pre-Mongol invasion Turkic groups.
