And the rings are thinly padded with canvas below it and springs....and yes....I set up a ring at the Heart O' Texas Coliseum so I do know what a ring is made of....the ropes? Steel cables. So to say getting slammed in that ring doesn't hurt is complete bullshit.

The rings aren't padded either, they're wooden on a suspension system so enough impact is absorbed to protect the wood from being broken. They also put mics under the ring to amplify the sound a bit.
