Some authorities do abuse innocent people and act as if English law does not apply to them. I hope that Mary has now moved out of that area . And got away from those horrible authorities. And is somewhere else safe,away from those authorities,Homerton Health Trust. Andrea Borman.

there a a high volume of people who are playing the mental health system in the uk just to claim benefit money. some of them claim they are mentally ill but that doesn't stop them spending there money on new clothes and beer e.t.c. there mental problem does not prevent them from doing that. these people are a disgrace. theres niothing really wrong with them deep down and they are still capable of doing things but are just wasting mental health services

I would like to finally comment that there are good Psychiatrists. The Disorders are real! I have had depression and anxiety disorder. Both ARE due to natural instabilities which make the brain ill. Psychiatric illnesses are genuinely real, and good doctors and Psychiatrists are really needed. I think proper transparency and accountability and an end to postcode lottery are part of the way forward to achieving this.

It would be unfair to say that the Dartford and Gravesham Trust NHS Psychiatric care does not help in other cases. But they effectively checked the box Anxiety Disorder and said that although my particular illness was very severe, Anxiety Disorder was not considered a serious enough mental illness for the Psychiatrist to help me. The fact that I was now VERY sick was irrelevant and I had to seek my own help privately. When I have fully recovered I want to take them to book over all this!

I had severe antidepressant withdrawal leading to electric shock sensations in my head and very severe dizziness as if i had been chloroformed (symptoms of Anxiety Disorder). I saw an intimidating NHS psychiatrist who said that I didn't need his specialist help. My doctor then said he didn't know what to do and that I should ask the psychiatrist. Thankfully I paid to see a private psychiatrist in parallel. He was brilliant and is the only reason I am now better.The NHS were dangerously useless

This is just terrible I mean why would anyone want to subject someone to this kind of treatment when it is clear that they don't' need it. Its scary to think that this could happen to you.

I will say however, that as a psychiatric nurse I endeavor to be my best at all times. my standard is based on how id expect my mum to be treated if she was in a psychiatric hospital. If i was working on that ward i'd have been jumping up and down and making a lot of noise about what was going on

olanzapine is a very dangerous drug. Please google life- threatening hyperglyceamia and acidosis related to olanzapine.

It is criminal to do this to someone and they should be STRUCK OFF. I have myself been to hell and back because of delusinal so called Drs keep misdiagnosing my medical conditions as a mental health condition. Thank God I have very good medical Drs now and now they are running scared THE SICKOS. Get justice. You are not alone.

Ugh. I can't stand sob horror stories like this. The reason most people are sectioned is to protect them AND OTHER people as well as help the mentally ill.

My ex boyfriend cut himself badly once, and his sister called the emergency services, and sure the Police had to handcuff him.. because he was being VIOLENT and he had stabbed himself.

He got sectioned, but he got plenty of help, and now he's alright. They kept him for his own good.

Stories like this aren't the norm.. MOST people under the mental health system are well-looked over. Horror stories like this are just isolated incidents.

Most people are looked after well.. they do have standards.

There is of course the issue of how Police handle suicidal/mentally ill people, and people getting sectioned for stupid reasons/medicated against their will, but the way some people make out they're oppressed..

Yes, I guess some hospitals have their own standards, however, this does not excuse the regime that psychiatry perpetrates by falsely labeling individuals mentally ill due to life's differculties.

It does not go far enough to remedy these unfortunate situations either.

The abuse of patients in the mental health system is common and definitel not unknown. There are many people who earn the risk of being labeled for life due to emotional difficulties, temporary life problems or just not fitting in to the norms of society. I am general nurse and a friend of mine used to be a counsellor and what this lady in the video clip is no surprise to me.

I'm a patient myself I know for a fact it is a life sentence. In fact my next injection is due tommorrow. Once they have a hold of you they never let go whether you recover or not. The drugs obviously aren't working since there are no success stories. The only way to stop them from drugging our children is not to have any.

They are going to drug me into an early grave with the approval of the Australian government.

Only this interview claim as a lie. Is sadly not uncommon for people to think that. Once the psychiatric dust bin grabs you, find almost impossible to recycle yourself. Mary's events are all true, check out psychiatry, become a patient, becomes a life sentence.

I had a kidney infection and was mis-diagnosed with bi-polar earlier this year. Despite the fact I am a student nurse, had the support of my GP, Lecturers, family and friends I was given the option of spending a month in a London Mental Health hospital or being sectioned. I was forced to take anti-psychotic medication and was amazed at the lazy, rude and unprofessional behaviour of the staff. I was given no reasons for their diagnoses and have been waiting over 3 months for my file notes.

There is no way round the psychiatric system and proving they were wrong.They are above the law so it is a fruitless effort to even try to report.Anyway a previously sectioned human being is fearful of doing so for fear of being held there indefinitely......and they can do it,i've seen it with my own eyes.

This story is absolutely SHOCKING! You should sue for clinical neglience, these people should be held accountable: they should be sacked, you deserve the maximum in compensation and in support. These people are criminals!I feel really sorry for this woman having been forced to go to Homerton hospital and then to be given what can only be described as rent a kill to sedate her absolutely criminal. This is a clear breach of human rights, you deserve 100% support...GOOD LUCK!

Even though I know this sort of thing happens it still however shocks me! I just watched all 3 - I'm late for work but WOW! really well done on this expose and especially the womans bravery to report it on video!
