This is to dacarguy....You are completly right!! BUT DMC is still in effect and you can buy a rebuilt one, wit modern parts, for tha low 40k....tha company's in Houston...SO everything you said...well its fixxed! Now you can go over 88mph!LOL!!

So dacarguy doesnt think its cool huh? Who cares if its not fast or handles good. It is the time machine and there are plenty of people in this world that will argue with you and tell you its an amazing classic car. They are so rare, i've seen more Ferraris in my life than Deloreans.

The Delorean may not be powerful, but it's great for cruising. Plus it gets 28 mpg on regular gas with the 5 speed manual. I've ridden in one and it's awesome!

@MasterMacLeod Deloreans were designed to meet certain gas mileage requirements. Originally it was to have a rotary engine. But because of new emissions laws and the fact they wanted to mass produce it they used a less powerful engine. 130hp engine with a 5 speed transmission and 2750 weight. (without passengers). I'm in a local Delorean group. My buds get 25-28mpg with their Deloreans.

But I agree with Hearseguy. Take a Island Twin Turbo or wait until Stage III comes out and then we'll talk....

DeLorean's are not to fast because for one they are heavy as hell!

The Delorean isn t heavy ! It has 1230 Kg ! They have a Fiberglass underbody and bolted-on Stainless Steel panels. They are not so fast because the engine is a bit underpowered. But for a classic car this is not important. There are Stage II engines avaible but nobody wants to race with such an exotic car. I ll keep my Delorean with the stock engine. Thanks GoTo5975
