I agree on your point about "how much ignorance does God allow before He withdraws His grace. Just because a mormon or mormonism has accidentally twisted some of the understanding of the trinity and the fact of the one God, He doesn't therefore say to those you can't have salvation. However, I will say the more our doctrine distorts the true nature of God the more chance we have in not really knowing Him.
God can be a mediator between Himself and us, especially if He is multidimensional to the points that He can send His Son down and yet Himself still be in Heaven while the 3 are one. Once we understand God's omnipotence and omnipresence, then all things are possible.
I am so glad that mormons believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus. However, many of us christians though we don't believe in persecuting anyone, but where mormonism departs from the truth that Jesus taught, we will expose this out of Love.
@MormonFlournoy Yep. I am sorry for the way christians can outcast mormon's. I think it does happen on both sides. God is testing us to see if we are making doctrine, church or LOVE more important - even though all 3 are important. Salvation is not through the church or doctrine but through Jesus Christ for He said that He is the Way, The Truth and the Life. We get out of balance and find that church or doctrine outweighs eternal souls that God wants us to love.
Mormonism and Christianity are totally DIFFERENT! Mormonism is a man made religion from the 1800s with totally different scripture and doctrine. Now they want to say they are Christian?
Mormonism is NOT Christian. Mormonism believes in many gods.
If Mormons want to become Christians, there is good news! You still can be...
@rickgigliotti is a spammer; uses basically the same text each time. He doesn't even address the content of the video. He participates in playground rhetoric "UhHuh! HuhUh!" I have invited his response elsewhere, but no substance. In fact, he will probably answer this by saying something like: "Thank you for proving I am right." But...Christ himself spoke TO the Father. He did not speak TO Himself & all three were present at Christ's baptism separately in unity, not a unit. Listen to the video.
@Billybob11niner I am surprised you don't know about Mormonism. Many gods is one of their common beliefs. Here are some Mormon gods from Mormon scripture:
Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, 349 (council of Gods)
Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, 345 (God once a man like us)
B.Y. Journal of Discourses, 7:238 (Gods exist)
The Gospel Through the Ages, 105-106 (God was man and man may be God)
This is just a few Mormon references to plural gods. There are a lot more.
@rickgigliotti continues his spamming. He refuses to respond to my direct responses to his allegations & just continues to spam. He is not here for the whole truth...only to continue bashing. I have 2 simple questions; pick one. 1) Did Jesus Christ have a body of flesh & bone when he ascended & sat on the right hand of the Father? I testify that He will "come in like manner" (Acts 1) & 2) What did the Lord God mean when he said "us" in Genesis 3:22. I am Mormon; I AM Christian
Brother you are doing a great job of explaining to this people why Mormons are Christian but when you give the scriptual refrences they will only say you believe in the Bible Joe Smith wrote fale We believe in the King James but also Joseph Smith's Translations big difference..... See it like this..... So called Chirstian that are blind and deaf to your word are like the Jews that Denied Christ and his words and his teachings your doing a great job Brother keep it up
@theoriginalyummyyumm Lol, what really likes shocks me, is when I hear individuals ill intentionally or without even noticing "Mormons are not Christians". The name of our Church is "The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints". We try to live our lives based on Christ-like qualities. We love Jesus Christ. That is exactly why we partake of the sacrament every Sunday, because Christ said "do this in remembrance of me".
@MormonBryant This also gets me the name of the church is named after our Lord and Savior, OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS. is because many other churches call them selfs The Church of Jesus Christ.People like to pick on Joseph Smith like people did to prophets of old, i think alot of So-Called Christians are like what i like to say COMFORTABLE meaning they like the way things are or were before Joseph Smith like the Jews before Christ or the people of Israel before Moses. its history repeating itself
There are two points I need to make on Jesus and Satan.. 1st, since Christ is infinite, His associations do not diminish who he is. Satan, a finite being and cannot compare to the Savior.
2nd, the term brother can be mistaken for a unity or closeness, but no Mormon believes this is the case in this instance. Christ and Satan are clearly enemies, we simply believe that God the Father created both Christ and Satan.
@MormonFlournoy , Point #1 ..Jesus associations have nothing to do with the facts that LDS teach Satan is his brother, so lets stay on subject shall we? Point #2 .. Jesus NEVER EVER said Satan was his brother! PERIOD!! Only Joesph Smith said that and now LDS believe it, But Why would Jesus NEVER teach this to the world??? Why? Because he is not Satan's brother, and this is a total lie, and the LDS church leaders will pay for that outrageous lie that they have put out into the world.
@splitspeeds, Christ is NOT the brother of Lucifer in the sense that we have siblings in this world. In a vague sense both their spirits were made by the same creator, God the Father. However they are significantly estranged for me to honestly say that they are not brothers at all. First, Satan never received a physical body and Christ has a resurrected body. Furthermore, Christ is the only being who is spiritually AND PHYSICALLY God's son, making him the "only begotten of the Father."
Christ was the Firstborn of all the heavenly host; Lucifer was a son of the morning: each of us came into being as conscious identities in our appointed order; and Christ is our Elder Brother. (The Mortal Messiah, vol. 1, p. 21)
NONE of this was taught by Jesus and NONE of this is in the Bible. This is all a big lie perpetrated by the LDS
@MormonFlournoy Yes Jesus is " the only begotten Son" So WHY does the LDS teach they are brothers?
Apostle John A. Widtsoe explained:
"The story of Lucifer is the most terrible example of such apostasy. ... He pitted his own plan and will against the purposes of God. He strove to gain the birthright of his Elder Brother, Jesus the Christ.
@splitspeeds I don't see how that quote contradicts what I've said. Long ago, before Lucifer became the devil and was cast out of heaven he WAS the brother of Christ in the sense that they had the same God (in the sense you and I are brothers). However, NOW Satan has no body or hope of redemption and Christ not only has a body but is the literally and physically the 'only Son of God' and so it is safe to say that they are brothers no longer.
@MormonFlournoy Your Post is not backed up with anything written in the Bible , nor did Jesus EVER teach or say anything close to what you have written here. Plane and simple truth tells us this is a lie perpetrated by people like you for the LDS Church, and proof of this lie is one mans word ( Joe Smith) vs the teaching of Jesus and the Bible. Who do you believe? Jesus or Joe? To even suggest Jesus has a brother is blasphemy to the highest order and has no merit
@splitspeeds you have called me a blasphemer for saying Jesus has a brother, but in John 20:17 Jesus told Mary, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my BRETHREN, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God. Hebrew 2 17-18 says of Christ: Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren... If the Bible says Christ has brothers, how is it blasphemy for me to say so?
@MormonFlournoy , Just because God created Jesus & Satian does not mean they are brothers? LOL! There is nothing in the Bible that teach this outragious notion, Nor did Jesus himself teach this nonsence!! This is a total lie put out by Joe Smith and carreid forth by the LDS Church. You have nothing to pack up your foolish claim acceppt to say you believe Mr. Smith lie, BUT God never told of this.NEVER!
@splitspeeds if you don't want to call Jesus and Satan brothers just because God created them both that's fine with me. In fact I agree with you! I think calling them brothers is a little misleading, making it seem like they are brothers in the way earthly siblings exist- while Satan and Jesus are so vastly different (physically and in their attitudes) that no two like them could possibly be related on earth.
@eitoobmiz Satan doesn't exist, why don't we grow up now and focus on more important issues.
The only thing we non-believers are "doomed" to is to have your beliefs shoved in our faces everyday and be treated like inferior beings while our lives are dictated by your doctrine.
Enjoy your little debate on which version of Christianity is "true" but bear in mind that no non-believer in their right mind will take either of your sides seriously because you "Christians" keep fighting each other
Did you know Jesus & Lucifer are brother? Yeah! According to Joesph Smith in the book of Abraham? Funny how Jesus never mentioned that to anyone? Family must not have been too important to Jesus for him not to say anything about his own brother? Maybe he was just embarrassed to tell everyone about this evil brother? lol, or maybe just may be Joe's little book is false?
@MormonFlournoy Throughout the decades thousands of researchers who did extensive studies to prove that mormonism is about LIES,DECIET and TRICKERY, when it was actually satan who chose filthy joseph smith as his first mormon prophet of satan and they got together to USE Jesus Christ name on the mormons so called church just to try and fool Gods children. So LDS stands for lucifers demonic servants
@MormonFlournoy , you can't be serious? You're kidding right? I mean you really got to reach deep into your bag to come up with that no sense? So let me get this straight??....Jesus could not tell us Satan was his brother but Joe Smith had to tell the World 2000 years later cause Jesus was just to embarrassed too? LOL?
@splitspeeds you caught me. Yes I was joking. I think you're too caught up on the fact that Satan being Christ's brother sounds bad, just as a non-christian could accuse a disciple of believing God died, which sounds equally bad without the context of the resurrection.
I do solemnly swear, in the presence of Almighty God, his holy angels, and these witnesses, that you will Avenge the blood of (Freemason) Joseph Smith upon this nation; and so teach your children; and that you will from this day henceforth and forever begin and carry out hostility against this nation, and keep the same a profound secret now and ever. So help you God.
Utah is one of our good sources, said Denver CIA recruiter Jack Hansen, in Provo recruiting BYU.
Most Christians are not Christian. Almost everyone I know who claims to be a Christian show no sign of it.
Henothism is a type of polytheism.
The nature of God is the defining point of CHristianity. This is what seperates Judiasm from Christianity and from paganism. If you hold to henothism, you cannot be a christian beacue this does not meet the basic requirment of being Christian.
Isaiah 43:10-12 44:6-8;24 45:5-6;14;18;21-22 46:9 There is only one God. God Bless.
I admire your will to speak of what you believe, however Mormons are not Christians. The Mormon Jesus was a man that worked his way into Godhood through "good works." The Christian Jesus is God, who created good and matter and is not bound by anything. I could worship Obama and change his name to Buddha, but that does not make me a Buddhist. I was born and raised as a hard core Mormon, and Jesus, the real one came to me and saved me of my good works into the Kingdom of God.
Rypaul, I'm assuming your Christian since you're trying to point me to John 4:24. Surely if Jesus was born an infant in Bethlehem the idea can't be that rediculous.
yes, I think the jews believed that God was a spirit, everlasting, invisable, is historically clear however, if God was once an infant, human, and thus he had to live and get forgiven for his sins, and be faithful in a church, then die, then become resurrected, then exualted as one more god in a sea of gods...well this is in my mind is short coming of what the bible teaches in St. jn 4:24
@Mormonflournoy---listen I like your attitude, but not your doctrine of God, Jesus said "God is Spirit" see St. Jn 4:24 Mormon church prophet Smith said God is and exalted man-god with all the parts of human bone and flesh, who once lived upon a planet (near Kolob) and died just like you and I will die.
Human to me means being born an infant, or a baby, from a mother's sack, and to be honest I dont believe that God was ever a little baby. That would be rediculous. So how could God been a human once upon a planet?
Mormonism is Polygamous intrinsically. It is polytheistic. Its endowments swear oaths in secret. the polygamy revelation nullifies all non mormon marriages and contracts, defines innocent blood and threatens his wife with death! and more!. Jesus is polygamous as is "god" and Mary. If I took your name and redefined it 180 degrees would you accept it?
Joshoemaha, forgive me for interrupting your inspiring conversation, but the journal of discourses is not part of the LDS canon, therefore it is not our doctrine.
ok but if the "prophet" speaks the word of god and your "prophet" says that.......never mind it just seems all to confusing how things only apply when its convenient.....journal of discourses is historical church documentation that LDS don't like the public to know about
Oh really? Then how do you explain Doctrine and Covenants 1:38: ...whether by my voice or the voice of my servants, it is the same....? But as if one would need the Journal of Discourses to prove that Mormonism is not Christian. The Plurality of Gods doctrine is enough right there to prove it. Not to mention other erroneous doctrines as well.
@alpinegermany mormon leaders expressed opinions on issues many years ago, but those books are not technically doctrine in the mormon church. The journal of discourses is not mormon doctrine. Protestants--look at some of your own philosophy from 100 years ago and you will see some VERY BIZARRE philosophies on issues such as fornication, homosexuality, and race. Or, ignore this post and go on believing that mormons are evil because you disagree with their religion.
I thought the Book of Mormon was the keystone to your religion. Now, you are saying that whether it is true or not is irrelevent? You can't be Christian until you refute all that is wrong with Mormonism. Sorry! Try again.
Lets start with you refuting all that is wrong with Christian Fundamentalism, then I may declare you to be a Christian, until then, you are just one of those belonging to thousands of contradictory Christian fundamentalist churches. Remove the beam from your own eye first. You are in no position to judge, who is and who is not a Christian. You don't agree among yourselves and yet you act as though you are the standard bearer or holder of the definitive truth, what a joke.
YES we do believe that the GODhead the Eternal Father ,Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit
ARE SEPERATE beings the KJV even supports this ! the father and the son Christ have both a physical and a spirit body but the Holy Spirit is a personage of spirit only .
See the definition of a christian is not who believes...dang Satan believes....does that make him a christian? Definition is a FOLLOWER of Christ.....the Jesus that the Mormons follow is not the Jesus that "Christians" follow. Jesus of the book of mormon is different than the Jesus of the Holy Bible.
Just because your pie hole moves and you say this crap, doesn't make it true. the Fishy On The Bumper Brigade can't find common ground with each other, and yet you get to define who is and who is not a Christian. What a joke!
Joseph Smith did that when he said that god told him " All christian creeds are an abomination" so if we are such an abomination then why claim the title?
well if mormons are christian why is it when joseph smith prayed asking which sect to join God said "They are ALL wrong, ALL creeds are an ABOMINATION in my sight, and those professors of me are ALL corrupt". geese if ALL christians were wrong then, why would you claim christianity? Did christians suddenly become right?...I was mormon for 18 years it amazes me that they still to this day claim to be christian, by their reasoning Jehovahs Witness are christian LDS PLEASE STOP CHANGING DOCTRINE!
Brigham Young"The only men who become Gods, even the Sons of God, are those who enter into polygamy (Journal of Discourses, Vol. 11, p. 269, August 19,1866)
D&C 132:37
37 Abraham received concubines, and they bore him children...because they were given unto him,and he abode in my law...because they did none other things than that which they were commanded, they have entered into their exaltation, according to the promises, and sit upon thrones, and are not angels but are Gods.
i am mormon. we are christians because we believe the same things as christians, we just have more added onto it. they are only wrong because they don't have the fullness of the gospel.
not christians actually, christians believe you are saved only through salvation in christ, mormons believe you have to do works along with that to be saved
Salvation only does come through Christ. The Bible teaches we must do more than believe only (Satan believes and knows that Christ is the Savior). If ye love me, keep my commandments. (John 14:15) Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. (James 2:18)
Thats a bad argument, first of all satan did not accept jesus as his savior. Secondly the scriptures you use have a point that LDS twist, that point being is also found in romans that says when you accept christ you are a new creature and as a new creature you have a desire to be more like him.....if you are saved through works then why did we crucify a man for salvation? If you have truly accepted jesus you would follow his commands, and want to do the works but it doesn't save you.
Mormons do not believe they are save by works. We believe we are saved by grace alone. No individual works can earn you a spot in Heaven, but your evil works can certainly secure you a spot in Hell, even after you have said the magic born again words, "I believe". The fact that you believe that you cannot be unsaved through evil deeds and works is nothing more than taking the road most traveled and is mans justification for living in sin and easing his conscience. What a load of crap!
then why must I be baptised and keep a temple reccomend to get into heaven, obviously your a fool and don't know lds doctrine....not all lds believe that they are saved by works however I do know a few who have a relationship with jesus, but when bishops say it isn't enough to have that testimony i find it interesting.......if you have truly accepted christ you turn away from worldly things and possesions to have a relationship with him
Bishops don't dictate what is and is not enough, since you clearly don't know what you are talking about, let me clarify what you mean. What you have probably heard and not understood, is that we believe that a man and a women need to be sealed in the temple in order to reach a celestial glory. Since you don't really understand what that means, you are left to twist it in into, "bishops say it isn't enough to have a testimony". Do you think it is wise to criticise what you don't understand?
I WAS LDS 18 YEARS!!!, D&C 132 says that you must practice polygamy or you are damned! becoming gods isn't biblical either, there is plenty of scripture to shut that falsehood down, you follow joseph not jesus, and even when you follow joseph you don't do it correctly in truth the FLDS follow the doctrines way more accurately than the mainstream lds do.hy would I have to be baptized if I have accepted Jesus(the church says its needed)? you said yourself its only because of him we are saved.....
You must be born of the WATER AND THE SPIRIT! You must be baptized doosh bag, because the Bible tells you so. I realize you only use the parts of the Bible that justify what ever church you attend in what ever rented out strip mall chapel you worship in, But I like to use all of the teachings in the Bible, not just the ones that give me a golden ticket to say "I Believe"! and go to heaven, even after I butcher a hundred chickens and screw a beagle! & D&C 132 does not state that at all. Why lie?
what about in the bible when jesus turns to the thief on the cross and says "today you will be with me in paradise" he hadn't been baptised.........continue to show how wrong you are by your tone and use of name calling it really shows the true LDS heart.....
again, you take 1 scripture to justify your cause and ignore 10 others that clearly state that you must be baptized. By the way, in D&C 132, God begins by simply telling Joseph, I will clarify why Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Solomon, and Daniel were Justified in having many wives. Before he gets to the explanation, he explains the law of the new and everlasting covenant, which is eternal marriage. No where does it say that you are damned if you don't practice polygamy. Bring on the next lie!
I apologize I miss quoted D&C 132, you are right there.....BUT HERE IS WHERE THAT CAME FROM
"Now if any of you will deny the plurality of wives, and continue to do so, I promise that you will be damned." (Journal of Discourses, Vol. 3, p. 266). Also, "The only men who become Gods, even the Sons of God, are those who enter into polygamy." (Journal of Discourses, Vol. 11, page 269).
ANOTHER COUPLE OF THINGS ONE OF YOUR WONDERFUL PROPHETS HAVE SAID....just for the point of proving its doctrine...Brigham Young-
"I say now, when they [his discourses] are copied and approved by me they are as good Scripture as is couched in this Bible " (Journal of Discourses, Vol. 13, p. 264)
"I am here to answer. I shall be on hand to answer when I am called upon, for all the counsel and for all the instruction that I have given to this people. If there is an Elder here, or any member of this Church, called the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, who can bring up the first idea, the first sentence that I have delivered to the people as counsel that is wrong,
I really wish they would do it; but they cannot do it, for the simple reason that I have never given counsel that is wrong; this is the reason." Brigham Young-(Journal of Discourses, Vol. 16, page 161.)
oh joshy, all of that sounds very convincing when taken out of context and pieced back together again to fit your agenda. If you were a neutral party, just looking for truth or to simply understand, what you say might have some value, but you have a clear agenda. Nothing you bring to the table is of any value, because you evaluate all info, through biased born again glasses. You wouldn't have back tracked on D&C132 if I hadn't called you on it. you throw the dung just hoping some will stick.
sure there you go true mormon heart again....avoiding solid evidence and don't even try that cherry picking argument when you LDS do it all the time taking scriptures out of context.....I gave you recorded statements of what your PROPHET said, who's backtracking?believe you can become gods list of scriptures say otherwise..ok, what i think shouldnt matte, if you really believe its true, I know its not but I can guarantee you brother one day you'll see that a building is not the way to salvation
yes but the LDS organization knows nothing, besides your "prophet" you know the first one to start stopping plural marriage, only did so because the government gave him the alternative to either follow the law of the land of one wife or they would tear down the salt lake temple.....so lets not claim divinity when it was really a cop out
The Book of Mormon provides great clarity on this issue: "We are saved by grace, after all we can do". I think it quite hypocritcal to state that just because you put your hands on the radio state and say " I believe" to the pastor that you can be saved. The Savior stated that few will find the path. According to you, anyone just needs to believe, and bingo. All done.
and if you want to go into doctrine that isn't true then you should leave the church that teaches you will become a polygamous god(D&C 132), Brigham Young said as recorded in the journal of discourses "No man will enter into godhood unless he enters into polygamy"
oh and heres the part where the bible contradicts all that god stuff, 1 Samuel 2:2, 2 Samuel 7:22, Deuteronomy 32:39, Exodus 8:10, Isaiah 44:8, isaiah 45:22, Mark 12:32. The LDS organization and the truth are strangers nothing more.
"We only have to believe he is the way and follow his teaching."
The way ? What way and the way to what ? What is this "way" about ? If you seriously believe, "Jesus does not teach us we have to believe stuff about him", then your second statement is meaningless word salad.
"Believing is very personal and you may have more in common with 'them' than you have differences"
This statement is ignorant of the differences between Mormonism and Christianity.
Translation: "I'm going to ignore the inconsistencies of my own statements being pointed out and just ramble on pretending that nothing anybody believes makes any difference".
"there are people that believe Jesus actually walked over water and others say it is just a metaphor. Does that make either less of a christian?"
Yes.
"I think not. That is not what being a christian is about."
Trans: "I can pray to Mickey Mouse and still call myself a Christian".
Any common sense at all just goes woooosh! Right over your head doesn't it...
Nothing you have said suggests that you actually have any scriptural foundation or belief at all. I have heard nothing that suggest you actually have any saving faith in Jesus Christ.
You could be just as happy not claiming to believe in Jesus but believing in Frodo Baggins as Lord and Savior because you really can't see the difference at all in what anyone believes and you don't think it matters.
MORMONS believe all churches are Corrupt and do not have the AUTHORITY from GOD & Jesus Christ is a POLYGAMIST!
Orson Pratt (Mormon Apostle)"..all other churches are entirely destitute of all authority from God; and any person who receives baptism of the Lord's supper from their hands highly offend God, for he looks upon them as the most corrupt of all people"(The Seer, pg 255)
...the GREAT MESSIAH who was the founder of the CHRISTIAN religion, WAS A POLYGAMIST...(LDS MORMON The Seer,page172)
cmon Ilegallytouchingchildren, you know that Mormons do not believe that Jesus is Polygamist! ya dumb dooosh. you have half of a decent argument and then you ruin it with that silly shit. Orson Pratt simply reasoned in his mind that since God's Priesthood authority was always passed on by the laying on of hands by one having authority and the only possible unbroken line is through the Catholic church, and protestants broke away from the catholic church, you couldn't possibly have any authority.
Nice source ya used up tampax! The Seer, by formal action of the First Presidency and Twelve Apostles of the Church was repudiated, and Elder Orson Pratt himself sanctioned the repudiation. It was never considered official LDS doctrine, nor was it ever published by or endorsed by the Church. You are exposed as a liar and a fraud, but you knew that. Why let a little truth get in the way of your deceitful agenda. You are seriously worthless. did your mother drop you on your head as baby?
"Religion is very personal. What is the truth? Why is your truth more true? "
Translation: "I don't believe in any absolute truth, I'm a sucker for self defeating relativistic arguments. And I don't see the irony that my statements are themselves absolute".
"I will tell you how I see it but I would not presume to think it is an 'universal truth'. It is mine."
Translation: "Did I mention I was a relativist ?".
no mormons are NOT christian, by any stretch of the imagination, mormonism is polytheistic (don't lie you worship jesus and god, unless you want to deny any worship for jesus?), christianity is monotheistic. in mormonism jesus isn't god and is a separate god, in christianity jesus is god, in mormonism jesus's sacrifice isn't enough to get to heaven, in christianity jesus is enough and we are saved by grace alone. even your own, hinkley, said that mormonism preaches a 'different jesus'
Hi there, I believe you are slightly mistaken. We believe in the Godhead, Jesus is God, The Father is God and so is the holy spirit. Seperate yet with one purpose. We deny the extra creeds not found in the bible. Faith without works is dead, many other scripture says this.
Hinkley was taken out of contex. Plain and simple.
If you have any more issues or questions id be glad to help. God bless.
ok so you just told me you believe in 3 gods, i don't see what the point of that was?
(just so you know.. i know, i used to be mormon)
and yes "faith without works is dead" but works don't save you, all that's saying is that if you have faith it should show through your works, but it's the 'faith' alone that saves you, nothing, you, yourself can do to attain savation.
and if hinkley was mistaken then you might want to rethink trusting your prophet, i thought his word was scripture?
I got confused please forgive me. I meant we are henotheistic. a belief in one suprème or specially venerated God who is not the only god. "Works" Is doing the Lords will. "Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only". We are saved through faith not by faith. Again I have more scripture if youd like. Only scripture is scripture. He did not say "Thus the lord say" Meaning it was not a revalation from God. Rember he is but man,he like other prophets makes mistakes
ok, henotheistic, polytheistic, ..christianity IS monotheisic. and, do you only worship god the father? or do you also worship jesus? cause i know of hymes that are about jesus in your church.
"for it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from youselves, it is the gift of god-NOT by works, so that no one can boast." eph 2:8 (and i have ALOT more, this is just a good one that's blatanly clear)
"yea, a man may say, thou hast faith, and i have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and i will shew thee my faith by my works" james 2:18 (the verse before the one you posted)
he's clearly stating that genuine faith has the fruit of works. any more?
I agree with that scripture.Rember what I said before? We are saved through faith not by. Jesus said love thy neighbour as you love thyself did he not? Do this and ye shall have eternal life. Jesus himself gave us 2 laws that we must follow. Please rember we still need to belive in christ. Also thank you for this discussion im enjoying it very much, thank you.
ok, but in mormonism in order to reach higher kingdoms and godhood you have to work your way up.
in christianity you are saved, as a free gift, NOTHING that you do can get you into heaven, only through your faith by god's grace.
thanks for conversing with me also, im not trying to be mean, i just don't believe it's right for mormons call themselves christian when what they believe doesn't line up with it.
Now at around 3:22 you said Mormonism is not polytheistic because you worship one god but believe in many, sir that is the very definition of polytheism: the BELIEF or worship of more then one god. henotheism is the belief in an eternal REGRESSION of gods for example god has a father who has a father who has a father. so u obviously have misuderstood your own vocabulary. In the JOD as I see u have behind you JS tought Polytheism. He tought it also in the king Follett dis as well!
Ok so at 2:30 you said that that the only thing that matters is wherther or not we believe in Jesus Christ. I would have to agree with you on that point, however in Joseph Smith HIstory section 1:19 he clearly states that He was told by Christ when asked which church to join, to join none of them because all of their professors and creeds were an abomination! He later tought in D&C that outside the mormon faith noone can be saved!
You are not born again?? you are spiritually blind. Actually it says that he cannot see, or percieve the kingdom of God. Twist not scripture lest you are the devil
Well said! Most Cult members are narrow minded and very blind to the truth. That's why they don't want to hear negative things about their church. Mormonism is so far from Christian it's scarey. Currently they have 12,000,000 decieved followers on this planet. Hell is going to be a very full place.
Because Mormons believe the cross to be a symbol of Christ's death, and we believe that we should focus more on the fact that He conquered death rather than celebrating it.
And please don't compare my beliefs to the KKK again. That's hurtful and you know it.
MORMON DOCTRINE read LDS Apostles MARK E. PETERSON "Who placed the Negroes originally in darkest Africa? Was it some man, or was it God? And when He placed them there, He segregated them... At least in the cases of the LAMANITES and the NEGROES we have the definite word of the Lord Himself that He placed a DARK SKIN upon them as a CURSE...Behold the LAMANITES your brethren, whom ye hate because of their filthiness and the CURSING which hath come upon their SKINS...(Book of Mormon, Jacob 3:5).
The Mormon church preaches and teaches that BLACK SKIN is a CURSE from GOD thats a fact. When will the LDS church REPENT of this and say BLACK SKIN is not a curse from GOD and REMOVE the BLACK Curse of Cain Mormon doctrine from the MORMON scriptures?.How long do all Africans,Indians and all Dark skinned people of the world have to suffer and put up with this trash That God curses people that rebel with BLACK SKIN.THIS IS NOT CHRIST LIKE!!!! and if you believe in this you are a RACIST!
Oh and its not exactly Christ-like to condemn other people for their beliefs or to damn them to hell either. Neither is spreading lies about a religion you obviously know nothing about.
" . . . after the flood we are told that the curse that had been pronounced upon Cain was continued through Ham's wife, as he had married a wife of that seed. And why did it pass through the flood? Because it was necessary that the devil should have a representation a upon a the earth as well as God..."Journal of Discourses,Volume 22,page 304.the "curse lineage" (dark skin) is Satan's representation on earth, was taught clearly by the third President and Prophet of the Mormon Church, John Taylor
""The Journal of Discourses is not an official publication of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is a compilation of sermons and other materials from the early years of the Church, which were transcribed and then published. It includes practical advice as well as doctrinal discussion, some of which is speculative in nature and some of which is only of historical interest. ... Questions have been raised about the accuracy of some transcriptions..."
"...Modern technology and processes were not available for verifying the accuracy of transcriptions, and some significant mistakes have been documented. The Journal of Discourses includes interesting and insightful teachings by early Church leaders; however, by itself it is not an authoritative source of Church doctrine."
your racist Prankmeister1990 REPENT! The Juvenile Instructor was an official periodical of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints:We will first inquire into the results of the approbation or displeasure of God upon a people, starting with the belief that a black skin is a mark of the curse of heaven placed upon some portions of mankind.... We understand that when God made man in his own image and pronounced him very good, that he made him white.
Funny, considering I've never heard of ay of that before.
And what are you going to do if I don't repent? Threaten me with Hell? Please, if I had a nickel for every time I've heard the SAME EXACT THING from a Christian's mouth, I'd be swimming in the things. And thats not to bash on Christians either, but every time I hear one of the ever common 'Hell Threats' it sounds exactly the same. Its like listening to a broken record of a cat dying on a chalkboard.
ummm NO Mormons are a Cult. They are not Chrisitan. They do not follow Jesus but Joseph Smith. Mormons are unaware of their our falsehood. You need to define Mormonism. The Book of Mormon is wrong. The Pearl of Great Price is Wrong and Doctrine and Covenant is wrong. How dare you sit here and lie saying that Mormonism is Christian. You need to study before making another false video.
How dare YOU call my religion a cult and tell me everything I believe is wrong. You need to learn to be a better person before making another false comment.
A mormon remain to be a mormon and being a follower of Joseph Smith who being a polygamist person. Its impossible to call them a Christian. Because being to be a true Christian he must follow the teachings of Christ. And one of this teaches that a man or either a bishop must have a ONE WIFE. While Joseph Smith teach for having many wives and he call it a new revelation an everlasting Covenant. Joseph is an anti Christ.
I'm sorry, but Mormons don't believe that Jesus is enough to save-you believe you need to rely on your own works as well or you won't get to heaven (or become a God)
Ephesians 2:8-10 (King James Version)
8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
mytimeisablur-You said: "I'm sorry, but Mormons don't believe that Jesus is enough to save-you believe you need to rely on your own works as well or you won't get to heaven (or become a God)". Then U quoted Eph 2:8-10: Christians are already ("are/have been" KJV/NKJV) saved by grace thru faith, not of works. This is the exact opposite of Book of Mormon's 2 Nephi 25:23"it is by grace that we are saved, AFTER *ALL* we can DO." D&C 132, Gospel Principles chapt 47 also teaches literal Godhood
Ihave alwaysfelt uncomfortablearound Mormons, soI've beentrying tofigure out why withan open heart. The more I search the better I feel about Mormons!
God ismerciful andthat is thebottom line. Nobodyknows everythingthere is toknow about God, but we doagree thatChrist died for our sins and whoeverbelieves in Him willhave eternal life. We're stupidcompared to God, so it's dumb to thinkwe knoweverything, but it's important totry with anopen heartlike howyou aredoing itMormonFlournoy-Peacebewithyou
About pondering if other religions ie protestants have the spirit... We, including myself, need to be careful. Cuz if someone does have the Spirit and we claim they don't, is that not denying the Spirit? We are in NO position to make that call.
John 3:7-8
Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but CANST NOT TELL whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
and ordinances are fine... they are good. I don't mean to criticize doing them... I mean to criticize those few people that put their faith in them by condemning those that believe in Jesus but don't do lds ordinances.
If anything the church seems riddled with ordinances... you gotta get married in this building, you gotta take our sacrament every sunday for the spirit, etc etc. Ordinances mean nothing, faith and following the spirit mean everything. As far as I am concerned when Jesus died on the cross he performed the last ordinance I'll ever need. And it is up to me to now follow the Spirit.
Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
In exchange for all those rules about ordinances, cleansing rituals, animal sacrifices, sprinkling blood... on and on... which don't actually tell you what someone believes... Jesus died for us to be free of all that and from our sins. What is important is that we follow the spirit. Not pick on others because they don't do an ordinance
I had an lds friend come in from town and somehow religion came up and he assumed I wasn't religious because I don't go to a church in a building. And then he went on to say I am missing this ordinance and that ordinance... This is a false understanding of Christianity... we are to put faith in him not ordinances. And people don't get it....
I notice johnjamie showed more by his actions of not respecting those he was allegedly saving that he cared more about listening to himself talk/write than the wishes of others. Even after they politely attempted to respond to his rude remarks.
And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called (Christians) first in Antioch.
Actually thank you I had a few others point it out for me as of course it is in the Book of Mormon as well with an identical definition. I also find it interesting the name of Jesus Christ is actually in the Book of Mormon more times than it is in the New Testament. Thanks again for your post.
Mormons are not Christian! They deny 3 esstential doctrines (how many gods there are, the nature of Jesus, and His work of salvation).
Interesting how the LDS church of today seeks to be included with "Christian" churches when Joseph Smith's first vision and the Book of Mormon claim these churches are "of the devil"!
Run away from LDS as fast as you can or you will perish with them!
Check out my channel to see how Jesus can save you!
I'm getting real sick and tired of this 'We're going to Heaven and your not because a two millenium old book that's been retranslated hundreds of times said so' attitude. You act like your better than not only Mormons but also those who disagree with you, as if your more 'special' than the rest of humanity for belonging to X Y or Z religion. Your in God's favor and we're not, therefore your better and have the right to tell others who's right and who's wrong as if it's absolute truth?
The Church of Jesus Christ does not teach that members are "better" than anyone else period.
Please get your facts straight before you make such claims, they teach that only Jesus Christ will judge and not anyone, not any person of any particular faith will ever do so, or have the right to do so. So please do not judge them, I say most people can't handle the ten commandments if we can all just respect one another that is a good beginning.
Were you replying to johnyjamie or me? Because I wasn't saying Mormons think their better than anyone else at all, I was replying to johny telling them I'm tired of Mormons being looked down on by mainstream Christianity.
You said "Your in God's favor and we're not, therefore your better and we're not" so I was responding to your comment about us claiming and/or thinking we were "better" than anyone else.
I apologize for any miscommunication. If you are saying that you are tired of mainstream Christianity then I would say you are being Christ-like because I never understood those who claimed to be "Christian" and who allege to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ having an agenda to put down any other group.
But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ. 1 Cor 2:15-16
When you are born again, the Holy Spirit guides to all truth. Mormons are clearly following a false gospel, false doctrine, false prophets, and a false Christ.
Thank you very much for telling me that my religion, beliefs and very way of life are wrong. Boy, you sure are spreading the love of Christ!
Did Jesus ever flat out tell someone their beliefs were wrong? Not to my knowledge. He reemed some people out, sure, but never did he do it so maliciously as you are. Food for thought, the Phari/Saducees both put down Jesus for teaching 'false doctrine' too. I can say I'm proud to be experiencing that today as a Mormon, it further proves we're right.
Jesus and His diciples do indeed flat out tell people when they are wrong and in need of correction. It's because of His love for us that He gave us His Word with stern warnings to follow such as criteria for false prophets that LDS ignore!
Sorry to hear you're proud to be a Mormon.
In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them. Proverbs 14:3
Yes they did, but they never did so in such a malicious, hateful manner as you are. Sorry to hear I'm proud to be a Mormon? Jesus never spoke in such a way to anyone.
Oh and I like how you use Scripture to try and make yourself sound wise and awe-inspiring. Oh no, your certainly NOT being condescending or prideful with that statement at all. Sort of funny, you mention the 'rod of pride' and how evil it is, even though the rod of pride is all I see coming out of your mouth in every post.
Thank you sir, you have proven that you can take Scripture out of context. Bravo. Can you even go ten sentences without shoving another verse down my throat? I mean yeah, I can understand using Scripture in a religious discussion but dang man, your all over the place here.
Clearly false according to whom? You? Again you claim to be Godlike and able to judge more power to you but it is against Christ's teachings in the New Testament.
"But he that is spiritual judgeth all things" 1 Cor 2:15
"I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed." Galatians 1:6-8
I don't think anyone needs to be around you seem to enjoy reading your comments that ramble on and on.
I respectfully tried to respond and you continue to through out random scripture verses.
I already know these scriptures you are proving nothing but your ignorance and disrespect towards others.
Not only out of courtesy but common politeness, I would personally ask you to know longer respond or write me at this point after which it will constitute harassment.

Once we understand God's omnipotence and omnipresence, then all things are possible.
messianicreformer 7 months ago
I am so glad that mormons believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus. However, many of us christians though we don't believe in persecuting anyone, but where mormonism departs from the truth that Jesus taught, we will expose this out of Love.
messianicreformer 7 months ago
exposing wrong doctrines isn't always persecution.
messianicreformer 7 months ago
@messianicreformer you're right. But it's all about the attitude this is done in. If you can really pull it off in love, then it's all good.
MormonFlournoy 6 months ago

@rickgigliotti Mormons don't believe in many gods. Not true.
Billybob11niner 10 months ago
@Billybob11niner I am surprised you don't know about Mormonism. Many gods is one of their common beliefs. Here are some Mormon gods from Mormon scripture:
Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, 349 (council of Gods)
Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, 345 (God once a man like us)
B.Y. Journal of Discourses, 7:238 (Gods exist)
The Gospel Through the Ages, 105-106 (God was man and man may be God)
This is just a few Mormon references to plural gods. There are a lot more.
rickgigliotti 10 months ago

MormonBryant 1 year ago
@MormonBryant This also gets me the name of the church is named after our Lord and Savior, OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS. is because many other churches call them selfs The Church of Jesus Christ.People like to pick on Joseph Smith like people did to prophets of old, i think alot of So-Called Christians are like what i like to say COMFORTABLE meaning they like the way things are or were before Joseph Smith like the Jews before Christ or the people of Israel before Moses. its history repeating itself
charlietuaau61 11 months ago
There are two points I need to make on Jesus and Satan.. 1st, since Christ is infinite, His associations do not diminish who he is. Satan, a finite being and cannot compare to the Savior.
2nd, the term brother can be mistaken for a unity or closeness, but no Mormon believes this is the case in this instance. Christ and Satan are clearly enemies, we simply believe that God the Father created both Christ and Satan.
MormonFlournoy 1 year ago
@MormonFlournoy , Point #1 ..Jesus associations have nothing to do with the facts that LDS teach Satan is his brother, so lets stay on subject shall we? Point #2 .. Jesus NEVER EVER said Satan was his brother! PERIOD!! Only Joesph Smith said that and now LDS believe it, But Why would Jesus NEVER teach this to the world??? Why? Because he is not Satan's brother, and this is a total lie, and the LDS church leaders will pay for that outrageous lie that they have put out into the world.
splitspeeds 1 year ago
@splitspeeds, Christ is NOT the brother of Lucifer in the sense that we have siblings in this world. In a vague sense both their spirits were made by the same creator, God the Father. However they are significantly estranged for me to honestly say that they are not brothers at all. First, Satan never received a physical body and Christ has a resurrected body. Furthermore, Christ is the only being who is spiritually AND PHYSICALLY God's son, making him the "only begotten of the Father."
MormonFlournoy 1 year ago
@splitspeeds the name "only Begotten of the Father" sets Jesus in a category all his own.
MormonFlournoy 1 year ago
Apostle Bruce R. McConkie stated:
Christ was the Firstborn of all the heavenly host; Lucifer was a son of the morning: each of us came into being as conscious identities in our appointed order; and Christ is our Elder Brother. (The Mortal Messiah, vol. 1, p. 21)
NONE of this was taught by Jesus and NONE of this is in the Bible. This is all a big lie perpetrated by the LDS
splitspeeds 1 year ago
@MormonFlournoy Yes Jesus is " the only begotten Son" So WHY does the LDS teach they are brothers?
Apostle John A. Widtsoe explained:
"The story of Lucifer is the most terrible example of such apostasy. ... He pitted his own plan and will against the purposes of God. He strove to gain the birthright of his Elder Brother, Jesus the Christ.
splitspeeds 1 year ago
@splitspeeds I don't see how that quote contradicts what I've said. Long ago, before Lucifer became the devil and was cast out of heaven he WAS the brother of Christ in the sense that they had the same God (in the sense you and I are brothers). However, NOW Satan has no body or hope of redemption and Christ not only has a body but is the literally and physically the 'only Son of God' and so it is safe to say that they are brothers no longer.
MormonFlournoy 1 year ago
@MormonFlournoy Your Post is not backed up with anything written in the Bible , nor did Jesus EVER teach or say anything close to what you have written here. Plane and simple truth tells us this is a lie perpetrated by people like you for the LDS Church, and proof of this lie is one mans word ( Joe Smith) vs the teaching of Jesus and the Bible. Who do you believe? Jesus or Joe? To even suggest Jesus has a brother is blasphemy to the highest order and has no merit
splitspeeds 1 year ago
@splitspeeds you have called me a blasphemer for saying Jesus has a brother, but in John 20:17 Jesus told Mary, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my BRETHREN, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God. Hebrew 2 17-18 says of Christ: Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren... If the Bible says Christ has brothers, how is it blasphemy for me to say so?
MormonFlournoy 1 year ago
@splitspeeds the Bible gives sufficient evidence for Christ and Satan being created by God even without Jesus saying so.
MormonFlournoy 1 year ago
@MormonFlournoy , Just because God created Jesus & Satian does not mean they are brothers? LOL! There is nothing in the Bible that teach this outragious notion, Nor did Jesus himself teach this nonsence!! This is a total lie put out by Joe Smith and carreid forth by the LDS Church. You have nothing to pack up your foolish claim acceppt to say you believe Mr. Smith lie, BUT God never told of this.NEVER!
splitspeeds 1 year ago
@splitspeeds if you don't want to call Jesus and Satan brothers just because God created them both that's fine with me. In fact I agree with you! I think calling them brothers is a little misleading, making it seem like they are brothers in the way earthly siblings exist- while Satan and Jesus are so vastly different (physically and in their attitudes) that no two like them could possibly be related on earth.

So LDS stands for lucifers demonic servants

Ohhhh.... Makes total sense to me? LOL!

@splitspeeds you caught me. Yes I was joking. I think you're too caught up on the fact that Satan being Christ's brother sounds bad, just as a non-christian could accuse a disciple of believing God died, which sounds equally bad without the context of the resurrection.

MormonFlournoy 1 year ago
yes, I think the jews believed that God was a spirit, everlasting, invisable, is historically clear however, if God was once an infant, human, and thus he had to live and get forgiven for his sins, and be faithful in a church, then die, then become resurrected, then exualted as one more god in a sea of gods...well this is in my mind is short coming of what the bible teaches in St. jn 4:24
Rypaul5217 1 year ago
@Mormonflournoy---listen I like your attitude, but not your doctrine of God, Jesus said "God is Spirit" see St. Jn 4:24 Mormon church prophet Smith said God is and exalted man-god with all the parts of human bone and flesh, who once lived upon a planet (near Kolob) and died just like you and I will die.
Rypaul5217 1 year ago
Human to me means being born an infant, or a baby, from a mother's sack, and to be honest I dont believe that God was ever a little baby. That would be rediculous. So how could God been a human once upon a planet?
Rypaul5217 1 year ago
Mormonism is Polygamous intrinsically. It is polytheistic. Its endowments swear oaths in secret. the polygamy revelation nullifies all non mormon marriages and contracts, defines innocent blood and threatens his wife with death! and more!. Jesus is polygamous as is "god" and Mary. If I took your name and redefined it 180 degrees would you accept it?

Not to mention other erroneous doctrines as well.
alpinegermany 2 years ago
@alpinegermany mormon leaders expressed opinions on issues many years ago, but those books are not technically doctrine in the mormon church. The journal of discourses is not mormon doctrine. Or, ignore this post and go on believing that mormons are evil because you disagree with their religion.

Lets start with you refuting all that is wrong with Christian Fundamentalism, then I may declare you to be a Christian, until then, you are just one of those belonging to thousands of contradictory Christian fundamentalist churches. Just because your pie hole moves and you say this crap, doesn't make it true. the Fishy On The Bumper Brigade can't find common ground with each other, and yet you get to define who is and who is not a Christian. What a joke!

Joseph Smith did that when he said that god told him " All christian creeds are an abomination" so if we are such an abomination then why claim the title?
joshoemaha 2 years ago
well if mormons are christian why is it when joseph smith prayed asking which sect to join God said "They are ALL wrong, ALL creeds are an ABOMINATION in my sight, and those professors of me are ALL corrupt". geese if ALL christians were wrong then, why would you claim christianity? Did christians suddenly become right?...I was mormon for 18 years it amazes me that they still to this day claim to be christian, by their reasoning Jehovahs Witness are christian LDS PLEASE STOP CHANGING DOCTRINE!

Mormons become GODS

ReadingRaven019 2 years ago
not christians actually, christians believe you are saved only through salvation in christ, mormons believe you have to do works along with that to be saved
joshoemaha 2 years ago
Salvation only does come through Christ. The Bible teaches we must do more than believe only (Satan believes and knows that Christ is the Savior). If ye love me, keep my commandments. (John 14:15) Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. (James 2:18)
djwright44 2 years ago
Thats a bad argument, first of all satan did not accept jesus as his savior. Secondly the scriptures you use have a point that LDS twist, that point being is also found in romans that says when you accept christ you are a new creature and as a new creature you have a desire to be more like him.....if you are saved through works then why did we crucify a man for salvation? If you have truly accepted jesus you would follow his commands, and want to do the works but it doesn't save you.
joshoemaha 2 years ago
Mormons do not believe they are save by works. We believe we are saved by grace alone. No individual works can earn you a spot in Heaven, but your evil works can certainly secure you a spot in Hell, even after you have said the magic born again words, "I believe". The fact that you believe that you cannot be unsaved through evil deeds and works is nothing more than taking the road most traveled and is mans justification for living in sin and easing his conscience. What a load of crap!
mulletthater 2 years ago
then why must I be baptised and keep a temple reccomend to get into heaven, obviously your a fool and don't know lds doctrine....not all lds believe that they are saved by works however I do know a few who have a relationship with jesus, but when bishops say it isn't enough to have that testimony i find it interesting.......if you have truly accepted christ you turn away from worldly things and possesions to have a relationship with him
joshoemaha 2 years ago
Bishops don't dictate what is and is not enough, since you clearly don't know what you are talking about, let me clarify what you mean. What you have probably heard and not understood, is that we believe that a man and a women need to be sealed in the temple in order to reach a celestial glory. Since you don't really understand what that means, you are left to twist it in into, "bishops say it isn't enough to have a testimony". Do you think it is wise to criticise what you don't understand?
mulletthater 2 years ago
I WAS LDS 18 YEARS!!!, D&C 132 says that you must practice polygamy or you are damned! becoming gods isn't biblical either, there is plenty of scripture to shut that falsehood down, you follow joseph not jesus, and even when you follow joseph you don't do it correctly in truth the FLDS follow the doctrines way more accurately than the mainstream lds do.hy would I have to be baptized if I have accepted Jesus(the church says its needed)? you said yourself its only because of him we are saved.....
joshoemaha 2 years ago
You must be born of the WATER AND THE SPIRIT! You must be baptized doosh bag, because the Bible tells you so. I realize you only use the parts of the Bible that justify what ever church you attend in what ever rented out strip mall chapel you worship in, But I like to use all of the teachings in the Bible, not just the ones that give me a golden ticket to say "I Believe"! and go to heaven, even after I butcher a hundred chickens and screw a beagle! & D&C 132 does not state that at all. Why lie?
mulletthater 2 years ago
what about in the bible when jesus turns to the thief on the cross and says "today you will be with me in paradise" he hadn't been baptised.........continue to show how wrong you are by your tone and use of name calling it really shows the true LDS heart.....
joshoemaha 2 years ago
again, you take 1 scripture to justify your cause and ignore 10 others that clearly state that you must be baptized. Bring on the next lie!
mulletthater 2 years ago

joshoemaha 2 years ago
"I am here to answer. I shall be on hand to answer when I am called upon, for all the counsel and for all the instruction that I have given to this people. If there is an Elder here, or any member of this Church, called the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, who can bring up the first idea, the first sentence that I have delivered to the people as counsel that is wrong,
joshoemaha 2 years ago
I really wish they would do it; but they cannot do it, for the simple reason that I have never given counsel that is wrong; this is the reason." Brigham Young-(Journal of Discourses, Vol. 16, page 161.)

oh joshy, all of that sounds very convincing when taken out of context and pieced back together again to fit your agenda. If you were a neutral party, just looking for truth or to simply understand, what you say might have some value, but you have a clear agenda. Nothing you bring to the table is of any value, because you evaluate all info, through biased born again glasses. You wouldn't have back tracked on D&C132 if I hadn't called you on it. you throw the dung just hoping some will stick.
mulletthater 2 years ago
sure there you go true mormon heart again....avoiding solid evidence and don't even try that cherry picking argument when you LDS do it all the time taking scriptures out of context.....I gave you recorded statements of what your PROPHET said, who's backtracking?believe you can become gods list of scriptures say otherwise..ok, what i think shouldnt matte, if you really believe its true, I know its not but I can guarantee you brother one day you'll see that a building is not the way to salvation
joshoemaha 2 years ago
Funny the FLDS at first created because they despised polygamy and that's why Joseph's widow joined it. Now it is them that are the misfits.
Funny they don't number more than Mesquite, Arizona in the Summer.
The true church of CHRIST that was restored however is being preached in the four corners of the world and some 256,000+ baptims in 2008 alone.
the LORD knows when plural marriage is necesary. Don't you get your little panties all up in a bunch. So called 18 year long LDS...
TrueSaintsLDS 2 years ago
yes but the LDS organization knows nothing, besides your "prophet" you know the first one to start stopping plural marriage, only did so because the government gave him the alternative to either follow the law of the land of one wife or they would tear down the salt lake temple.....so lets not claim divinity when it was really a cop out
joshoemaha 2 years ago
The Book of Mormon provides great clarity on this issue: "We are saved by grace, after all we can do". I think it quite hypocritcal to state that just because you put your hands on the radio state and say " I believe" to the pastor that you can be saved. The Savior stated that few will find the path. According to you, anyone just needs to believe, and bingo. All done.
djwright44 2 years ago
and if you want to go into doctrine that isn't true then you should leave the church that teaches you will become a polygamous god(D&C 132), Brigham Young said as recorded in the journal of discourses "No man will enter into godhood unless he enters into polygamy"
oh and heres the part where the bible contradicts all that god stuff, 1 Samuel 2:2, 2 Samuel 7:22, Deuteronomy 32:39, Exodus 8:10, Isaiah 44:8, isaiah 45:22, Mark 12:32. The LDS organization and the truth are strangers nothing more.

Which Jesus might that be ?
The Jesus of the Bible, who is God incarnate, who became flesh and is the propitiation for our sins ?
Or the Jesus of Mormonism, who is a created being and the brother of Satan ?

Nothing you have said suggests that you actually have any scriptural foundation or belief at all. I have heard nothing that suggest you actually have any saving faith in Jesus Christ.
You could be just as happy not claiming to believe in Jesus but believing in Frodo Baggins as Lord and Savior because you really can't see the difference at all in what anyone believes and you don't think it matters.

cmon Ilegallytouchingchildren, you know that Mormons do not believe that Jesus is Polygamist! ya dumb dooosh. you have half of a decent argument and then you ruin it with that silly shit.

The Seer, by formal action of the First Presidency and Twelve Apostles of the Church was repudiated, and Elder Orson Pratt himself sanctioned the repudiation. no mormons are NOT christian, by any stretch of the imagination, mormonism is polytheistic (don't lie you worship jesus and god, unless you want to deny any worship for jesus?), christianity is monotheistic. in mormonism jesus isn't god and is a separate god, in christianity jesus is god, in mormonism jesus's sacrifice isn't enough to get to heaven, in christianity jesus is enough and we are saved by grace alone. even your own, hinkley, said that mormonism preaches a 'different jesus'
omnitribeco 3 years ago
Hi there, I believe you are slightly mistaken. We believe in the Godhead, Jesus is God, The Father is God and so is the holy spirit. Seperate yet with one purpose. We deny the extra creeds not found in the bible. Faith without works is dead, many other scripture says this.
Hinkley was taken out of contex. Plain and simple.
If you have any more issues or questions id be glad to help. God bless.
darkstarfox007 3 years ago
ok so you just told me you believe in 3 gods, i don't see what the point of that was?
(just so you know.. i know, i used to be mormon)
and yes "faith without works is dead" but works don't save you, all that's saying is that if you have faith it should show through your works, but it's the 'faith' alone that saves you, nothing, you, yourself can do to attain savation.
and if hinkley was mistaken then you might want to rethink trusting your prophet, i thought his word was scripture?
omnitribeco 3 years ago
I got confused please forgive me. I meant we are henotheistic. a belief in one suprème or specially venerated God who is not the only god. "Works" Is doing the Lords will. "Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only". We are saved through faith not by faith. Again I have more scripture if youd like. Only scripture is scripture. He did not say "Thus the lord say" Meaning it was not a revalation from God. Rember he is but man,he like other prophets makes mistakes
darkstarfox007 3 years ago
ok, henotheistic, polytheistic, ..christianity IS monotheisic. and, do you only worship god the father? or do you also worship jesus? cause i know of hymes that are about jesus in your church.

"for it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from youselves, it is the gift of god-NOT by works, so that no one can boast." eph 2:8 (and i have ALOT more, this is just a good one that's blatanly clear)
"yea, a man may say, thou hast faith, and i have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and i will shew thee my faith by my works" james 2:18 (the verse before the one you posted)
he's clearly stating that genuine faith has the fruit of works. any more?
omnitribeco 3 years ago
I agree with that scripture.Rember what I said before? We are saved through faith not by. Jesus said love thy neighbour as you love thyself did he not? Do this and ye shall have eternal life. Jesus himself gave us 2 laws that we must follow. Please rember we still need to belive in christ. Also thank you for this discussion im enjoying it very much, thank you.
darkstarfox007 3 years ago
ok, but in mormonism in order to reach higher kingdoms and godhood you have to work your way up.
in christianity you are saved, as a free gift, NOTHING that you do can get you into heaven, only through your faith by god's grace.
thanks for conversing with me also, im not trying to be mean, i just don't believe it's right for mormons call themselves christian when what they believe doesn't line up with it.

He tought it also in the king Follett dis as well!
vineyard09 3 years ago
Ok so at 2:30 you said that that the only thing that matters is wherther or not we believe in Jesus Christ. I would have to agree with you on that point, however in Joseph Smith HIstory section 1:19 he clearly states that He was told by Christ when asked which church to join, to join none of them because all of their professors and creeds were an abomination! He later tought in D&C that outside the mormon faith noone can be saved!

If anything the church seems riddled with ordinances... you gotta get married in this building, you gotta take our sacrament every sunday for the spirit, etc etc. Ordinances mean nothing, faith and following the spirit mean everything. Jesus died for us to be free of all that and from our sins. What is important is that we follow the spirit. Not pick on others because they don't do an ordinance

Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth? Gal 4:16

Thank you sir, you have proven that you can take Scripture out of context. Bravo. Can you even go ten sentences without shoving another verse down my throat? I mean yeah, I can understand using Scripture in a religious discussion but dang man, your all over the place here.

And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me. Luke 7:23
