@Alienpelvis86 Back about eight years ago, I broke the first nut on my first guitar with a .065 bass string. So not only are there intonation problems, there are broken nuts as well. Sand your nuts when you are using bass strings on your guitars, or you just might break them!

Nah, I do like Iommi and tune to C# standard with 9's. The floppy string tone is super evil. That's probably only good for a doom sound though.

@gehtdieser this song is actually done in bomb-drop tuning, his custom tuning, his 6th/1st string (low e) is not tuned at all, it's totally slack, earning the bomb-drop name as a metaphor of it's sound seeming like that of a bomb going off

@Alienpelvis86 ah ok my low e string from my 7 string guitar is 65 and i can easily tune it to f#. and for 6 string guitars you could buy zakk wlyde boomers . the low string is 70. but i never tested them

@gehtdieser 70? Holy fuck. that's too much. I have a set of Ernie Ball Heavy Slinkys (.56-.11 or something like that), and that's too much. With lower strings, you really HAVE to get your nut sanded, they just lay on top when they're that thick, which causes em too get outta tune really easy.
