I think it's wrong that kids should be black belts.. You need maturity to understand fully what Taekwondo. When you are 7 you are not mature enough to do this.
@stigoblogg I don't share the same view as yours. Ethan got his black belt at 7. He could do a lot of advanced kicks a lot better than most of black belter adults. Even a lot of black belter adults don't behave or act accordingly to the tenets of TaeKwonDo. Age is not the issue.
Also if you notice they didnt at any point seem to get angry with eachother, and neither took any cheap shots or threw any punches. good, clean fight!
got a 3 and a 4 year old who are going to start karate soon, cant wait. they have already been playin tee-ball for a year, wanna give them a chance to try something new
I hate to say it, but these 4 year old little dragons look just as good as adult TKD blackbelts. Both just throw roundhouse kicks and know NOTHING else. I see no difference in these kids and Olympic level adults.
So cute! I think that the pee wees are what make going to martial arts tournaments fun! I just went to one with my daughter (who is 4), and it was great seeing the little ones do their thing! Great job!!!
He is 6 yr and two months old now. He'll be taking his red belt testing next week. He is very flexible and his kicking techniques are awesome for a kid at his age. His masters are working on his sparring skills and techniques so that he fights cleverly (like setting up his opponent to miss kick and he counter attacks, do more combo kicks since he can do many different high level kicks now). and also have fun most importantly.
@kcsen keep it up!! I got my kids involved around this age in one way or another, and they still train together and have a great bond together and try their best to do right in all they do. Martial Arts definitely is the way to go in this ever-changing and difficult world of ours. You're doing AWESOME as a parent getting your little one involved so early.
Tadziogb, you're absolutely correct! You must be a martial artist too. The Tenets of TKD are Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control, and Indomitable Spirit! If a TKD martial artist doesn't know that, then he hasn't learned and understood the essense of this martial art.
@RichDiaz99 believe it or not in most cases it makes kids a lot less li kely to start a fight. nothing wrong with learning how to defend yourself. The more active your kids stay and the more involved you are the better they will turn out, regardless of the sport.
Thanks. He is now in Blue belt (Taegeuk five). His poomse is good for a 5 year old kid. I already taught him some fancy kicks (like front hook, spinning hook, 360 roundhouse and 360 back-kick) and he is doing them a lot better than other black belt kids and even better than I too.
Cute Fight!:)

Nice motorics for a 4 year old. When I was 4, I would be crawling, shitting myself, putting anything I found in my mind, etc.

Not saying your kid was bad or not good, just saying that the other one wasn't, he fell over all by himself when trying to do kicks. Oh well.

@RichDiaz99, you dont only get taught how to fight in TKD {Like most martial arts} but also how to control it,

Taekwon-do is a way of life, not just a brutal martial art. like MMA and Kickboxing

@RichDiaz99 normally all your agressions are used up in training or in matches :)
