Not twins. The mum probably adopted one somehow... Possibly another mum abandoned her baby and this one picked it up. Still uber cute though. To think I have these animals in my city. I'm very lucky!
The mom was trying to comfort the little baby and the baby was just pulling the mother down with the other babys weight on her too! LOL! Poor mom...:)
Ah, the pain, heart-ache, and triumph of motherhood. For the vast majority of animals, the mothers provide everthing their babies need: (1) food in milk and later in whatever food the babies need, (2) mental and physical well being, (3) family structure and social interactions, (4) what animals are dangerous and what animals are not, (5) who's friend & who're the bullies, even within the same clan the babies are born into...
No they are not twins looking at them theres about 8 months difference in their sizes i'd say..... they have a baby and 1 at foot this is extremely common the one at foot is learning his place is on the ground lol, odds are there is very probably another about the size of a tennis ball in her pouch already at this stage also. Happens with Kangaroo joeys and possums (also marsupials not bears lol too 1 in pouch and one at foot they call it. But adorable enjoyed the footage!.

To all of you who have expressed comments regarding this video, thanks for watching. The video was shot at the preserve North of Cairns so their survival was greatly insured.
That has to be one of the rarest and cutest things I have ever seen! I love Koalas (who doesn't, right?) and I especially love baby Koalas, but for a momma Koala to have twins (which I think is rare) trying to keep a hold of their mom (like they do) as she moves around is too cute (and has to be frustrating for the twins and the mom). I hope both Koala babies survive despite their situation! Thx for sharing the video!
trust me they aint so cute when your a metre away from one with HUGE CLAWS!!! arghh but still cute:) haha i saw a baby koala at my dentist once .. yah i have no idea why it was there LMAO
I had one in my front yard during the heatwave in Adelaide over summer. It drank the water we gave it. But one night it ended up climbing over the roof somehwere else. It was that loud it sounded like an elephant!
Wow really? I thought they didn't drink water- 'koala' Aboriginal for 'no water'. But then again that did also happen during the Melbourne bushfires. You're so lucky you actually got to see one though in the wild! Up in Sydney all you see are buildings and units... =P
I thought it was the koala while my dad thought it could have been a cat or something. But in that heat anything is possible I guess. It was around the time when we had that 45 degree day.
I know! I just wish a message would get shown to the whole world saying 'KOALAS ARE NOT BEARS!' Arghh.. even if they were it so easier just to call them a Koala. It is as though there are Koala Ducks, Koala Snakes, Koala Lizards, etc, so there'd be nothing else to confuse them with.
The Koala (Phascolarctos cinereus) is a thickset arboreal marsupial herbivore native to Australia, and the only extant representative of the family Phascolarctidae.
The Koala is broadly similar in appearance to the wombat (its closest living relative).
if like more info about Koala head over to Wikipedia were i got this info from.
i hope this clear this up for you and any one that has ask what they are if they are not a bear.
i love being australian, cos be got this sort of cute things in our back yards, na just kidding the animals live in the bush land, or zoo's (koala's are not bears! they're just koala's)
Koala's can have twins but it is rare. The size difference in these two probably means there were two females with joeys and this mum is being the nursery. In captivity they do seem to share the care of their joeys.
