Dont get a Pentium Dual Core, get a Core 2 Duo. Better for gaming. Faster to exit the game and open a new one.

I have a Pentium 4 3.00 GHz, When I quit counter strike source, it takes about 10 minutes for it to start speeding up again.

Same with my friends Pentium Dual Core, Accept his exits and speeds up in about 30 seconds. Core 2 Duo, Right when you quit or start up your game, its still running to same and at its best.

Just that there are two more cores, there won't be much performance difference between them, because most software hasn't been written for multi-core processors. But you might see a slight increase in frame rates in newer games and some small operating system optimizations.

If you are comparing outside of processor family's then you can't just compare processor speed. Four years ago I don't think they had dual core processors and a core 2 duo is a dual core processor, so it's two 2.2GHz processors in the single housing.

NO, ur PC is only 2,18 ghz but it is dual core so that is 40% faster than an normal CPU. But u can play games which need a CPU of 3,0 ghz (it is not recomed)

Why do some PC manufacters sell gaming PCs that have 2GB DDR2 RAM, 500GB Hard Drive, 512MB Graphics card but hen you get Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 with a clockspeed of 1.86GHz. You can't play the lastest games with top performance. That sucks!
