@seasons131 That is only a theory in the SH fandom, there is never any confirmation of it. You read the lyrics yourself, there is nothing to a say she killed herself only that she "fell into stardust". It's assumed but never proved. It's only a theory the fan-base accepts as possibly true.
@BeyondKawaii It could mean that; but I've heard so many explanations for each lyric. I translated it in the belief that this is how she feels about them together when he cheats on her with another woman.
@invaderjupitor Well, you see, in the second chorus she adds "Your white shirt TOO is now bright scarlet." Which makes me believe she means the matching of their clothes. Narration also says that she saw "dressed in MATCHING white clothes, walking together happily, him and a woman she never saw". Which makes me believe matching clothes had meaning to her. She was a hopeless romanticist after all.
@BeyondKawaii You're one of the first to have a very solid, convincing explanation. I'm impressed. I haven't touched stardust in a long time, so I read though everything today and redid several subtitles. Thank you for your comments; they motivated me to improve my video today <3
@BeyondKawaii I really like this observation, and hadn't noticed it before. Now that I see it, it seems such an obvious (and important) detail that it's hard to ignore. It explains why they make such a point of describing that she is dressed in head to toe in shades of red. When the blood contacts the air and turns black it fits into the overall theme of the album of forbidden paradises that, once achieved, quickly reveal themselves to be hells.
@DanteDevat I see it a bit differently. It is not about "forbidden paradises", but rather Abyss is drawn to the girls who dream of paradise as Ellys did. But he never finds her cause she's in paradise, and the girls doom themselves to abyss.
@BeyondKawaii She's not in paradise though; as soon as El enters paradise, she hears crying, and realizes the illusion of paradise, and in turn finds herself in a cold, deserted landscape. The idea is that Abyss and El as closely linked they are can never be together but will endlessly seek out one another despite this. We assume that the roles of El & Abyss are reborn and their tasks of searching for paradise repeated endlessly. Continue next comment.
@invaderjupitor In Marchen, they use "Elys" to describe an "ideal" woman; and since Elys is a woman (somewhat) and is a representation of Paradise, Abyss too is seeking his "Elys". (In another song, he uses "El" to replace the meaning of several words). So the concept of forevering searching for "Elys" transcends throughout several albums as well.
@invaderjupitor I agree about El being something of an idealization(although I have yet to listen to the other albums - still enjoying this one too much to move on). I took the El's experience when she wakes up in the false paradise as symbolic for each girl's experience (and indeed anyone else's - apparently a LOT of people end up there, not just the five described).
@invaderjupitor I presume (or at least would like to think) that the little girl in the first song doesn't end up in the Abyss, but since the Masked Man confuses each girl with El as an audience we take part in that delusion as they awake in Paradise. I'm not sure what happens to the little girl, though the lyrics seem to imply she blips out of reality. Whether that be to paradise or reincarnation or just nothingness, I don't know.
@BeyondKawaii I think the girls doom themselves by recklessly seizing happiness that they are not meant to have, and thus are forbidden paradises. The girls are not inherently bad people, but they allow noble desires for things (Love, Acceptance, Harmony, Justice, Success) that they nonetheless are denied to corrupt them. As for the Man in the Mask, I think he tragicaly believes that he is leading these girls to the paradise they yearn for assuming his little girl will be among them.
@Delcatty99 Ugh, tell me about it. I cannot tell you how many pairs of headphones have done that to me; one day just, one side feels like dying and all music just... ugh, can't stand it.
this was a wonderful video, its very well translated ^^ and its very enjoyable! =3 if there were still stars you'd get a 5 star video!! =3 i faved it too! ^^ keep up the awesome work! =D
@KakashiGirl0998 Thank you so much for everything! I'm glad you've enjoyed it ;w; Please take a look at other subbed videos, if you're a fan of stardust you'll like some of the other sound horizon songs as well! I agree with reachoutblue, why the gunshot at the end? ._.
FunnyGigglez 2 months ago
@FunnyGigglez It's a sound effect of her shooting her ex-lover.

If she is taken by Abyss, why the gunshot in the end?

@reachoutblue That's her shooting her lover.

@invaderjupitor no,she shooting herself.

I believe first lines translate as:
Don't we match, two of us?
Don't we match now? Ah, happiness!
These words refere to the colour of their clothes. After she shot her boyfriend, his white shirt turned red with blood, matching her dress.
