I would like to speak on behalf of evo lovers everywhere and just say one thing. You can hate an evo, but at the end of the day... Mitsubishi has NEVER gone over 300HP on an evo sold from a dealer, yet it spanks 80 thousand dollar cars. Unlike other cars, they DONT need to give the evo 500-800 HP from its previous model to make it better. Get real, you know how screwed you would be if they did that? A turbo charged AWD sports sedan like an evo is all you need. Jeremy clarkson is in LOVE with it.

Also my other proof. How much people buy a RWD to drift, or go to a track and get the back end loose? Barely any? Only the rich that can afford the damages they are putting on the car. (Engine, Brakes, and Tires) So basically most people buy a RWD to daily drive, which is the same as a FWD car. FWD is best for daily driving.

bring a rwd car up to northern wisconsin where we get 200+ inches of snow and see how well you do with a rwd. On dry roads they are fine. But as you can clearly see by this video the RWD cars come in last. The only exception is the Mid-engine RWD NSX that is by far superior to the 4WD imprezza so that doesnt count.

RWD (with rear engine placement like the Porsche) gets better traction on the line because the engine is on the rear wheels.

Hey, you guys have seemed to have got stuff wrong. First of, mitsubishi isnt an irreliable car. its one of the worlds best.but the japanese have been known to build cars of quality AND PRACTICALITY. where as the germans have a thing "class" thats y they have the leather interiors yata yata yata. the thing the evo is looked at as a canvas (lots of space for mods). where as the porsche is designed for the business class. who dont have time for that yet wanna have fun with their toys.

i wish the NSX was the Type R, i mean come on a V6 with Vtec and slightly lighter body and better handling, it would have had a much better time. but either way the EVO is much cheaper than the BMW or porsche and it still won :D thats why i prefer japanese cars over the over priced under engineered european cars

I think the 911 is more suited for the nurburgring than tsukuba hence the outcome of this race and the time difference at nurburgring but still i wonder how a race between a 996 or 997 and a Evo 9 FQ 320 or 400 would be like on nurburgring heck a 360hp evo with little mods (suspension a lil more power) and id be happy. porsche driver was better, the machines were close in performance so the gtr driver couldnt get by.
great battles all over the place, loved the rx7 trying to get around the outside with all that oversteer.
