  • Great video! It really shows the beauty and fun of flying!

  • Fellow pilots and student pilots, come and join my facebook page. Search for Pilots Page on facebook and add as a friend. See you there!

  • Great shots! Can't wait to start this Fall! (Falcon Field, Mesa, AZ)

  • great video... I miss flying the 152

  • Nice production.

    Scott

    Captain B-747

  • umm.. nice wheel?

  • Do you have to be qualified to formation fly? That's so cool

  • Can't wait to start my training in the states.

  • Beautiful video

  • Where is this? I know it's somewhere in Canada

  • I am a beginner too.. I am planning to start flying school soon.. fingers crossed..

  • awesome im getting my first flying lesson next week in a 152 :) i cant wait

  • @mcfurley

how much does tht cost and r u a new new beginner?

  • @Tyler2908KU For instance, in South Africa the minimum age for PPL is 16 and that's a full license (cessna) not a student one. Get your facts straight! The world does not revolve around one governing body.

  • @TrippyRandomTV The legal age is not the same in all countries. For instance in South Africa it's 16. Next time stop and think before speaking.

  • He could have his license for a sport light (ultralhight) where the age requirement is 16

  • glider license at 16 too

  • I love the registration of that first 152, GGGP. Nice.

  • im 16 and i have my license for small aircraft and it is the most amazing experience ever.. if you are thinking of flying do it, u will never llook back

  • Love the aerial shots

  • Im only 15 right now but i LOVE AIRPLANES!!!!! one of my goals is to get my pilots license a seen as i can....hopefully when im 16 in may of 2010 or at least start then :)

  • I'm also 15, and I LOVE PLANES too! I am training at the moment (started in February this year), and I have 7 hours so far ( I am having to finance myself).

    My adivce...

GO FOR IT!! I have never looked back.

  • wow, its expensive, it cost us around £7000 how?

  • Highly recommended: I am 15, have 25 hours. Best thing in my life so far.

  • u can now, min age for learning is 14 in UK min age for solo is 16 though so u might as well start now :)

  • 152 is awesome.....

i have flown most of my hours in it....

i have played with alot of times...

  • I flew one today at age of 12 handles very well.

  • same here and yes its very sensitive

  • I done my training in the C152 .

    Great aircraft.

  • Was it hard for you to fly the first time? I'm taking an aviation program after I'm done my last year of high school, and i just want to know if flying is tricky.

  • i can tell you, its is the most easiest thing ever. Yes you do get a lot of turbulence ( well i do in Scotland ) but its great fun and the scenery is amazing.

    Good luck with the program.

  • really? what about take-offs and landings, are they difficult?

  • They might be at first. If you know what you're doing then you'll be fine. Driving with morons in regular city traffic is more difficult I think lol.

  • not if you know the basics

  • i just had my first flight in one of these today

  • That's the truth of aviation. The awesomeness

  • What a beautiful HALO effect!

  • I must be a little rusty, but the first minute or so seems too high for a 152

  • thats what i thought

  • 1:15 GROUND EFFECT

    wooo

  • where is the cheapest place to learn to fly?

  • my grandpa has this plane its fun to fly

  • Looks a lot more fun than just flying it on MS Flight Simulator X. A friend of mine has one, and he takes the kids up in it from time to time.

  • definately is, i was a MSFS X junkie before i started my student pilots license, now i don't touch the program.

  • Lovely video!

I train on this in the UK.

  • that tail dragger is built for grass strips, so obviously he's gonna grass it. heck, a tail dragger is out of it's element on pavement.

  • Theres not much difference. And tail draggers are definitely NOT out of their element on pavement.

  • what country was this filmed in? That was funny how that tail dragger drove off the taxi way for the cessna. LOL

  • hea alex chataway if you see this i doing really there day's and no i cant a foad that. 4000 doller thing.

  • This video makes me miss my old Cessna 152 training days that I did back in the mid 90's for my private. What is the song from 1:50 to the end of the video?

  • love the cessna 152. simple and cheap. slow and fun. :)

  • Only planes and motorcycles LEAN into their turns. What a feeling!! :)

  • i want to be a pilot

  • Best place to take flying lessons will be the closest Aero Club and get some lessons. you'll get your CPL in no time!

  • Go kart like aircraft!

  • Correct me if im wrong, arent you supposed to feather the prop if its not running in flight to reduce drag?

Also during a dead stick landing do you apply flaps at the normals times or do you leave it untill you are closed to the airfield?

  • not to reduce drag, but to increase angle of attack of the prop therefore producing more lift in it so you can get more power with less rpm. If you don´t feather it in flight, is like goin at 50 mph in the 1st shift. C152 don´t have variable prop tho.

  • you engage the flaps normally

  • yeah you do but not on a C152. Fixed prop. You need an aircraft with a CSU (Constant Speed Unit) C152 is called Fixed Pitch.

  • I start training on sunday!!!!!!! CAN'T WAIT!!! hahaha

  • I want to start but I can't get over the fact I have to use my left hand with the yoke cos I am Roght Handed is it easy to get used to?

  • It's ok I'm right handed too. It's a lot easier than you might think. I had no problems adjusting. Good luck with your flying. :)

  • I can't wait until I have enough money to pay for my flight training. I am completely in love with anything that flies! I just want to let all of the pilots that read this know that they are so lucky and that they are living my dream. :)

  • with an attitude like that, it can never be far away :) good luck to you and remember to ALWAYS spend enough time on your flight planning! ;)

nice vid! and nice go around at 1:20!

  • In that case, I'm just like you. I hope your training process is going well and that mine will start in the next year. :)Aviation is the best thing ever!

  • hey dont let go of your dreams, i just started flight lessons today (8/2/08)

  • @emidgley 2 years later... I'm just curious. Did you get your license yet?

  • Nice landing!

  • Surprisingly well done!

  • My favorite part is 1:11

  • I CAN'T WAIT

I'm starting flight school this summer (I just turned 14, it's good to get a head-start!) This video totally gets me pumped everytime I watch it.

  • Good luck yo! I started at 17. Youre more fortunate than most.

  • Thanks! How far have you gotten so far?

  • nice

  • Wonderful video! Excellent job. In particular, I liked the greased dead stick landing. Well done.

  • Awesome. I am currently studying aviation at school and they pay for at least 8 lessons, so if you guys have any tips for me that would be really nice.

    Thank you

    Max Kreeger

  • dont crash

  • lol, I'll keep that in mind.

  • Your doing a great thing! Something to think about that worked out for alot of people, is buying an aircraft with your friend. You can get an older 152 for about 250$ a month each, and you can fly the hell out of it without having to pay extra rental fees... That is if your going all the way (atpl) otherwise just gow ith the rentals :)

  • Yeah I'm going to ground school as well and I do believe you need to find a flight instructor first in order to go flying! nO, i HAVEN'T GONE FLYING YET BUT, IM LOOKING FORWARD TO IT!

  • I've been once, but that was more of a see how it feels and looks kind of flight aka joy flight.

  • you can learn at any age, i would definitely recommend learning no younger than 16 though... that way you don't have to pay to keep yourself current. I started 6 months b4 i turned 17 and got my license at 17 and 1 month and it was perfect timing. just don't rush to get done, training is the fun part! even though the last week b4 your checkride is HELL. It is definitely worth it though, its such an accomplishment!

  • Good job on the video.I will remember this video on my first solo flight.

  • Cool, my interest in flying has increased to the point, I am finally going to start next year here in B.C. taking lessons.

    Thank you for posting!

  • very nice vid. i enjoyed the dead stick!

    (from here at my desk).

  • I dont think cutting the engine off in flight is a smart idea.

  • I would highly recommend that kind of training with a CFI (like at harv's) who knows the a/c, what it can do with correct conditions and aircraft configurations. I'm sure that he wouldn't have done that if he wasn't that familiar with the a/p or a/c. It COULD save you life someday! Job well done. A.Koz

  • I <3 CESSNA.

  • Why does the aircraft have two shadows on the ground in some shots?

  • From the airplane taking the air to air shots.

  • when they are taking off at the beginning, what airport is that?

  • Steinbach South, Steinbach, Manitoba Canada

    CKK7

  • so thats the airport in steinbach? how is it in st andrews because that's prlly where i'd take my training if I move there.

  • Check out our other videos, there are lots of clips from st. Andrews

  • i actually haven't seen them.

and in response to cessna...yeah i agree with you, but the rwy at steinbach is VERY long so they have a LOT of time to land lol

  • Correction; you need to be 16 to solo (flying without a Cert. pilot)and 17 to get your private pilot license. However, you can start flying at any age! as long as you have a pilot flying with you, you can start learning any time. And yes, it will cost a LOT of money, you need at least 40 hours of combined flight time, however it is highly unusual to get your license in only 40 hours, but that's the minimum. $6000-$8000 is a fair estimate.

  • This is the American answer. In CANADA (where the video was takenO, you have to be 14 to solo, 16 to get a Recreational permit, 17 for a Private licence, and 18 to get a Commercial licence. Adam

  • Great video. Also I love the music- what is it?

  • You need to be 16 to get a solo pilots license and 18 to be a private pilot. I think you can learn to fly at 14 but you have to fly experence. Oh and it gonna cost you from 4,000-8,000 dolars.

  • you should really check ur facts, Cheekycharliefeathur. there is no such thing as a "solo pilot license" it's just a solo flight, and u have to be 16. u have to be 17 to get a private pilot license. and u can fly at any age as long as ur with a flight instructor...

  • u have to pass a small exam b4 u can solo, so in a way it is a solo license

  • been there, done that... I'd consider it an accomplishment not a licence, ur still a student pilot after ur solo; no licencing involved, u just go from thinkin u can fly to knowing u can fly

  • true

  • Harv's is great. The 152 is my favorite. Infact, I've flown the first 152 you showd there. That exact one!

BTW comcfi, isn't it mandatory to have a "powerless" landing?

Flyboy, how did you start your licence at 14? Are you going through harv's air? Please pm me. I wanna start for my licence but I'm too young. :(

    Thank you for posting.

  • a "powerless" landing is not required. however, one must receive training for SIMULATED engine failures, mean power at idle.

  • cool vid

  • only an idiot would do a complete engine shutdown in a single engine. i will be reporting this to the faa.

  • lol shut up.

  • lol FAA doesn't care much what happens in Canada (The country north of you).

  • I don't think it's that terrible when you are right about the runway.

  • Yo im thinking about getting myself a cessna how much is it about.?

  • New - $100,000+

    Used - 40,000+/-

    Give or take lol.

  • i just turned 14 a little while ago and i started my flight lessons about a month before i turned 14. but it was either start now or my grandma would sell the plane. So i have quite a few hours and i love every minute of it.

  • I would love to have an airplane in my family! Thats so sick that you started flying at 14...im 16 and still saving lol...

  • yah its great my grandpa bought it like 20 years ago. Usually in it for about 4 days a week. Its great. Good luck saving up. :)

  • Why isnt there a law where you have to wear a helmet in a light plane? Just kidding but that has crossed my mind several times. Many of the severe accidents could be lessened if you could pop on a helmet if time allowed.

  • Just wanted to comment on the guy who liked the video and thought the music was lame.. The first song was excellent. Sounded like Steve Howe. Please what album is this?

  • The music is Apple Royalty free music, there might be better commercial music out there but this is nice, general appeal and NOT COPYRIGHT!

  • hi i really want to become a pilot. I am 14 years old. Can you please give me some tips. And when shall i start training (age)?

  • Private or commercial?

    Its easy to answer:

privat (only PPL) = short & easy way

    (costs 7.000-14.000 $)

    commercial (PPL-ATPL) = long & hard way

    (costs 58.000-90.000 $)

  • OMG you actually shut down the engine! I've never seen that done. Anyway I learned to fly in a 152 and love it. My instructor only pulled the throttle back, didn't actually kill the engine. Video is great! (except lame music)

  • Yup, that kinda freaked me out! We just pull out the throttle as well. Then again we dont fly where there are huge flat gras fields streching for miles around the airport.

  • LOL.. agree. Here in LA its kinda risky to cut off the engine..

  • what happened to the door on that plane at about 2:30

  • I imagine that they removed the door to make the footage.

  • ohh

  • Nothing like turning a simulated emergency into a real one by killing you own engine.

  • Hah! Seriously. In all my training I never saw such a thing. Would be good practice, but you better make it stick.

  • Why would it be good practice, I mean significantly better then just pulling out the throttle? What if something goes wrong, like an overshoot and he has to go around? I guess he would get to practice crashing into a fence :P

  • Hah! Yeah he would get good practice crashing into a fence, but I think the 60 knot glide speed would cause considerably different feel to the airplane regarding dead stick vs. idle engine rotation. Even at idle, the prop does provide some thrust.

  • At idle the prop makes drag, no thrust at all

  • The pilot who shut the engine down is the owner of the flight school, full certified instructor and has over 30,000 hours flying, the air strip is his own private strip. He knew exactly what he was doing and as part of training the engine is never shut off. It was done as a special occasion for this video. The amazing thing was the total lack of wind and noise.

  • lol thats a cool call sign , charlie charlie charlie papa lol

  • You mean Golf Golf Golf Papa, right???

  • thats what I saw too... charlie, golf golf golf papa...

  • lol ur right, still a cool name :P , im blind ,cggp so we are both wrong haha
