The core of the Dog's Sound, Funky drum offbeats that still preserve an earthy sound from the use of hand drums, a solid Bass, and a new swing to an old song.
absolument genial j adore la voix de jonny dommage que nous les nortmens n avons pas su gardé notre culture comme vous mais c est pas grave la votre compte pour deux ! de la part d un normand
Watching thisbrought a smileto my face. I saw the newest line up of Old Blind dogs in Ullapool recently and they were good, I danced all the way through, but I miss the old line up, great sound and really nice guys. Thanks.
I wish! No, I'm from New York. The closets I've gotten to Scotland is three trips, and a friend who lives in Fife.
Ian's voice makes my heart melt and my knees weak. I discovered him on a Celtic compilation cd from Putumayo (world music label), I think. He sang "Banks o' Fordie/Babylon" and I was gobsmacked. It's still my favorite Ian song.
I have been lucky enough to see the new line-up, and to attend a house concert with Jim Malcolm.
Yes, that's Ian singing, but the band playing music in the video is Old Blind Dogs. Whether he's with them or not anymore makes no difference. At this time, he was.
WOW!!! I have never seen the band with these members and have always wanted to. THANK YOU for sharing this. Old Blind Dogs is also one of my favorites. :)
Ian was fantastic!----great phrasing , like Archie Fisher---but better!

The Barnyards Of Delgaty.. The 'Of' could be replaced by o'.
Cracking tune. Impossible not to dance to - no matter how badly!

Thanks. Beside OBDs version, I have now heard about 5 other versions. Great song and the OBDs is the best one out there

No problem, I believe Ian Benzie was the singer on this version which was recorded at The Lemon Tree in Aberdeen, though I'm open to being corrected.
I'm a Lowlander which is why I didn't pick up on the pronunciation/spelling, that's my excuse!
To me, this is the definitive version.

Sorry kanue4, It's Barnyards Of/0 Dalgety (not Delgaty). It's a North East of Scotland song.

Except I do believe you should tag this "IAN BENZIE", as that's him singing. He's no longer with the group.
