Aww, how could anyone be afraid of Corky? I've grown up around dolphins, so it's hard for me to imagine someone being afraid of such a friendly animal. They can be dangerous, but not anymore more so than say... a lion.

I'm so jealous of her! I swam with dolphins and it was amazing and I would love to do it again, but to top it off with meeting a killer whale... that is completely priceless.

My mom is afraid of snakes because she grew up in rural Mexico where there was a lot of wildlife. She took a little dog out for a walk one day when a big snake caught the dog to eat. She told her brothers who went to hunt the snake with their guns but they never caught it. I can understand fear for survival, but other than that there should be respect for other species and how they have evolved to survive.

i think they put tyra with either Corky or Kalia (pretty sure its seaworld san diego) as they're 2 of the most trusted & gentle orcas at the park, tho im almost positive it was Corky

She is the most gentle and reliable out of the 7 orcas there. They always use her for guest interactions.

yea i thought so, but do they still do orca interactions? i thought the rules changed after the incident with kasatka back in 2006

Trainers no longer do waterwork with Kasatka because of that incident.

Gust interactions still occasionally take place during shows, but Corky is used for these as far as I know.

Like I said, she's a great orca.
