Trumpet isnt that hard but the higher you go the more difficult it gets. It takes a strong embouchure and dedication. Plus its the best instrument there is. No matter where you are in a band you will always hear the trumpets. They have the brightest tone they are the most reconized and nine times out of ten a composer will give the trumpets the melody of the tune. No doubt about it trumpet is the bomb!!! @Lunarmoon67 it really depends its not hard if your playing on the staff but above it gets more difficult i would know in 1st chair trumpet and have been playing for 6 years so i know what im talking about. mabye you just suck? who knows? you can ask my uncle how hard it is he was 1st chair trumpet in the marine drum and bugle core. that is the elite of the elite so dont try and tell me im wrong. i know what im talking about

@pistolbk I haven't been playing for as long, 3 years nut i'm first chair in my high school pep and marching band. At times it gets hard but i was just saying that no instrument is easy and to say that trumpet IS easy just gives people the wrong impression. I can't even count how many people joined our band thinking it was going to be easy and then quit after a month.

It's been so long since I've picked up my horn-- I only played for three years. How on earth do you get vibrato whilst playing? I don't see you moving the horn itself, so it must be your jaw? Tell me your secrets, sir! lol

@aggieanthony21 Or in your diaprham, bouncing it as you play. This guy does it really well, if he indeed does do it with his lips, but lip or hand vibrato can have its downfalls, just like diaphram. But hand a lip can easily change the partial, while diaphram can change tone and pitch. Its all in the trumpet player, but I use my diaphram.

@granolagirl8819 aggieanthony21 is right. but u can ALSO move the trumpet to get vibrato....but i (and im sure aggianthony21 would agree) would not recommend that u create vibrato that way....ALSO, wait until u have a good tone before using vibrato. you'll mess up ur learning, as a trumpet trying to use vibrato pre-maturely

Yep. great sound even if he hadn't quit for 6 years. It's been 10 for me and my tone didn't suffer but my endurance did severely.
