There is a magical force hitting you right in your heart when you hear this song. I saw it a few weeks ago and was first interested in the singer's comments, what a beautiful face, demeanor and ......everything...was just magical......and then she starts to sing and I'm like ;;;;;what the heck:::: I though I new all the great singers and songs of this world... Thanks for you response. Today I saw St. Vincent at PBS- Austin City. Finally "musical hope" is starting to reveal itself. Creativity, genius and soul with honesty. As with Nerina's interview, Abby and Austin City are leading this parade into the 21st century. Nerina and St Vincent touring would be just great.

Well I live in Idaho and a local radio station has been playing this song on a fairly constant basis. I'd never heard of Pallot until then. Of course I know it's just a song, but it is rather flattering that she uses Idaho for her metaphor. Especially a British singer. It's a small world. Nice song by the way.

She is absolutely fantastic when it is just her and her piano. The attempts by producers to make her into a "pop artist" simply don't cut it. Get rid of the produced-sounding stuff, and stick to songs like the "Abbey Road" version of Idaho, Sophia, Geek Love... where there is no cheesy backing strings, etc.. Then, and only then, is Nerina truly sensational.

BTW, I agree that overproduction is a major sin these days. I guess it's an ego thing, some producers just have to put their fingers all over an artist's performance to make it part theirs. For instance I thought Jem was a hack due to the overproduction on her "finally woken" CD (they are branding her as electronica) until I saw a clip of her performing acoustic. Then I discovered she has a voice to be reckoned with.
